Out of all the remakes we've had, which remake was the best and why? Discuss and debate here.

I still believe that LeafGreen was the best. I really like 1st gen over all others. The game was a great remake and had a lot of things to do postgame.

Heart Gold / Soul Silver, hands down, no doubt about it. Improved every single aspect from Gold / Silver / Crystal. Your Pokémon even follow you, not to mention how amazing the Battle Frontier is, & the post game as a whole is absolutely fantastic. Also you can play nostalgic sounds that bring back so many memories. I'm running out of things to say about them.

From what I have currently seen, ORAS might become the best one imo, currently it's HG/SS though, they were great remakes.

I think it's safe to say that HGSS was amazing. So many features, legendaries, gyms, backstories, additions, etcetera.

I'd have to say FireRed/LeafGreen and HeartGold/SoulSilver are a tie for me. While HGSS had things such as walking with Pokémon, an awesome Battle Frontier, and Red himself, FireRed/LeafGreen gave us Kanto, along with Hoenn stuff added and more. ORAS is slowly rising to best remake for me though, but right now FRLG and HGSS are tied~

OR/AS may replace HG/SS as my favorite but I'll need to get Omega Ruby and play through the game without the EXP Share first.

I like how well done Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire was done. I didn't really enjoy HG/SS so much due to how hard it was to level up and ORAS just surpassed FRLG for me.

Urgh, it's so difficult to say, as each and every remake has vastly improved and expanded on the original and been overall well done. Before ORAS, HGSS were some of my favorite main series games, due to how much I adored Johto as a kid and had been extremely excited about remakes for them ever since FRLG were released and I knew the possibility existed. Plus of course the game itself was great.

And speaking of FRLG, those were so solid and I did love them; HGSS took the cake for me though, as not only my favorite remakes, but as my favorite main series games.

But then ORAS came along... I still haven't beaten it yet, but so far I'm completely blown away. I have found a new love and intense fondness for Hoenn in these remakes... they have seriously improved it, and not just with graphics, but with the characters and story too, I'd say.

    Pokémon has come such a long way and I feel like ORAS has been not only the best remake so far, but one of the best main series Pokémon games yet. It's just so perfect it makes me want to cry. ;_;

Vague post I know haha, but as I said, it's a tough choice for me. I love all three. HGSS and ORAS are my favorite, ORAS likely being my top favorite of all time.

Yeah, it's definitely OR/AS for me. I personally wasn't into Pokémon yet when HG/SS were released, so I never really had the experiences other people had with that game. However, I did replay RSE countless times on an emulator, so much that I basically knew the location of every item, hidden or not. OR/AS really is a great remake, even though I haven't beaten it quite yet.

This is a hard discussion. I never played LeafGreen, and the original Heartgold and SoulSilver however I enjoyed HG/SS remakes especially over ORAS at the moment. I think it's because I loved the features for it. I liked the fact that Pokémon can follow you like in the original Pokémon yellow games. I also felt HG/SS was tougher then the newest remakes. I also had a hard time figuring out my starter Pokémon it took me forever haha! I wish I can find HG/SS so I can play it again. I miss it.

    Going to go with ORAS.
The improvements in graphics and sound is always a plus, but they added so much to the games with the dexnav and including the PSS.
The games have so much to offer for a variety of different players whether it's for casual or competitive which I absolutely love.
So many backstories included as well which was really interesting!
I love ORAS as a whole, and I hope that Pokémon will continue making these strides in game development.

I have to say Alpha Sapphire is by far my favorite remake. It may just be my nostalgia glasses, but when I play this game it is exactly the way I pictured it as a kid! The music is a splendid blend of old, revamped, and new, the errors in the original have been corrected and improved upon, and I love the new mega evolutions.

I'd say probably ORAS for me. I loved HGSS (walking with my Pokémon out of their Pokéball, best feeling ever) but ORAS is just so darn good. They feel close to the original Ruby and Sapphire, but different enough to be considered remakes. Plus, exploring the Hoenn region in 3D? Shut up and take my money!
