Title sums this up pretty well, what was your biggest disappointment about OR/AS and why? For me it was the EXP share being the old one. Made stuff way too easy but I didn't like some pokes not getting any EXP...

Maybe it was because I had the EXP Share on, but how easy the E4 and Champion were the first time. I blew through them with no casualties. /:

The gym leaders = way too easy. They could've made them tougher or have a option for 'hard mode' or 'easy mode' like BW.

Definitely Mauville City. Looks so lame now, I can't get over it

Mauville City. There was a lot of loading screens, and I kind of disliked that it was pretty much indoors, so I couldn't fly whenever I wanted to. It's a real shame, but it really disappointed me.

The gyms are waaay too easy now. :/ I already finished both versions in 18 hours (total time I've played in them)

That they didn't bring the Battle Frontier back. I mean, the Battle Maison is cool, but I wanted a Frontier...

I really hated how they brought back all of the HMs. I know that is was supposed to be based off of the original games, but we really don't need to have HMs anymore such as Flash and Rock Smash. They worked just fine as TMs.

Mauville City was an improvement, without it they would have to leave a bunch of new stuff (massages, food court, etc.) out of the game.
If they wanted to include them, they would have had to change a city. They changed the most logical one, Mauville, with the electric gym leader. Much like Lumiose in Kalos. I love it. The only thing I hate is that I can't switch my flying Latios to a flying Latias :( I like Latias a lot more.

The safari zone, I'm really disappointed that they pretty much turned it into just another area. I always liked hurting through the safari zones in the previous games with rocks/mud and bait and trying to catch them that way.

Flash is not a HM anymore though, is just a regular TM now, TM70.

But yeah totally agree with the Rock Smash one, they could have turned it into a TM instead.

To be honest, I was most disappointed about the Pokémon-amie mini-games being exactly the same! You'd think they would've changed it up a bit or added one or two more? Same with the Super Training. Seems like they've just copied and pasted it into ORAS from X/Y.

All the loading, for one. The massive rejigging of the contest combos too. But that, despite the disappointment it caused me, I kinda expected, considering how many moves there are compared to 14 years ago. My last gripe is more of a silly one; I don't like the way certain scenes have these half-minute animations. Yes, they're pretty and all, but what for the players who just want to grind-level at the E4? Oh well.

I think my second biggest disappointment was that so many monsters I was begging for Mega form didn't get one, but ones I hoped to Arceus would NEVER get ones got them.

But my biggest, and this might be a huge deciding factor for getting the game for me: NO BATTLE FRONTIER. I hated that they didn't bring it back in Black2/White2 (Sorry, but world tournament is NOT the Battle Frontier) and I am hoping to Arceus again they bring it back in Pokémon Z or whatever.

I haven't experienced everything yet, but so far, yeah, it was how easy the gym leaders were. The only gym leader that gave me any trouble at all was Norman. Everyone else, I could mostly just 1shot them and move on.

The Elite Four was actually quite tricky for me though, and very exciting! The champion was certainly a force to be reckoned with! :D

The games themselves were rather disappointing.

-The revamped music wasn't all that good, especially compared to XY's OST (most the new tracks were amazing, though)

-Everything was easy up to the Delta Episode

    -Contests were way too easy

-Not much post-game content; I thought soaring in the sky finding legendaries and Mirage Spots would be a post-game only thing but it wasn't (you could even do it BEFORE getting the National Dex, which was honestly kinda silly)

-Wally barely had a role just like in RS; his going from timid to brave between the time you meet him in Mauville and then on Victory Road is absolutely unbelievable, and it bugs me even more that Brendan/May had more of a role in the story than they did in RS while Wally didn't

-No Challenge Mode; really don't get why GF hasn't added it back yet

Don't get me wrong, I still liked OR (I'm currently playing through AS so I don't have much of an opinion on that), and there are plenty of aspects I enjoyed. However, ORAS could've been much better than they were, which is why they're disappointing to me.

My biggest disappointment is Wally. I thought, from the new artwork and the fact that he uses a Mega Gallade, he might've become a better character, but nope... He's still the same puny, sick child he used to be in RSE... Oh well, at least there's my ROM Hack to fix that ;)

You can't rematch Gym Leaders and the Battle Frontier is dead. :[ Rip 2 favourite things to 2 on Emerald.

I'm not disappointed with much else tbh. May/Brendan had so much more of a role in this game and were developed decently (GAME FREAK WHY U HINT AT A RELATIONSHIP :furious: ) , which was one of my main problems with RSE, so that's something.

-No Battle Frontier. I've already stated on one of my own threads why I think they've done this. There are a lot of hints in game (some obvious and some subtle) that all point to the idea of a huge piece of DLC on the way, but I hope one way or another we will get to see the return of the Battle Frontier sometime soon.
-Can't expand the size of your Secret Base or increase how much stuff you can put in there. I don't know why they put a limit on this. In D/P/Pl you were able to increase the area of your base when you went up in ranks, and there was never a limit as to how many things you could put down. If the original DS was able to handle a room filled to the brim with props, furniture etc, than the 3DS should be way more than capable. Maybe they put a limit because of Online Play, but either way I hope they make a patch that increases the amount of stuff you can display.
-Can't return to Southern Island without the Eon Ticket. I understand why they did this, but how hard would it have been to have it so that Latias/Latios will only appear on the island if you have the ticket, but you could go there whenever you want. That place was so beautiful, and I really wanted to build a base there, or just go back to enjoy the view.

Other than that, these are fantastic games, and I certainly won't be done playing them for a long time.
