So we've brought a lot of positivity but naturally some negativity comes too. What's your biggest disappointment?
The tutorial, is still way too long and tedious even if they've actually cut it down a lot is still annoying. Is not that big a thing I know since is the start of the game but the long start really bugs me.
Not actual part of the game-but how everyone was hyped at the idea of Pokémon following again. I shouldn't have, but I really got into that, and to see that it wasn't true really broke my heart. In the game, Mantine Surfing. I can see alot of players liking it, but I don't. It may be that I don't know the controls that well, or have tiny hands (and thumbs), making the mini-game very difficult and outright PAINFUL to do. My thumb was sore for almost a hour after I passed Mantine Surfing.
The lack of creative Pokémon. I wanted to create a team of only alolan Pokémon, but every route had nothing but old Pokémon from previous generations. The Pokémon that were from alola either weren't good or were used by someone else. I had to go out of my way to search for team members on bulbapedia. I wish that they populated their routes with original Pokémon rather than the old ones.
From what I've played so far, the game play is EXACTLY the same as S/M except with slight "dlc" like changes and the Ultra Recon squad. Not saying the game is bad, it's been fun so far, but I'm a bit disappointed since going into the game blind I was expecting things to be more different like how in BW2 you start on a different part of the region etc.
An underwhelming number of regular mons in the wormholes. It's gotten to the point where I can basically predict what's about to pop up when I go in. Although farming Ultra Beasts is a lot of fun XD
YES, JEBUS CHRIST. I hate the tutorials, not even in XY did we have a true tutorial and now we have too much of it.
You'd think with how old the series is they would have found a balance by now, I mean like in RBY we only had the old man showing us to catch pokémon like all other pokémon games we just had one show up how to catch stuff in the start, SM/USUM takes the tutorial thing a little too far.
That Poipole is only lv 40 when you get it, so I couldn't use my Naganadel in the league Also Ghetsis but he's always disappointing
Honestly, how claustrophobic everything still feels. Maybe it's because I live here and I know how heavily condensed the islands are in comparison, but even in normal Sun and Moon I felt like the islands themselves were extremely small, probably too small. Like, if you combined all the islands, Alola would have just about the same amount of areas, towns and such that any normal region would have, but by cutting it all into four separate islands it ends up feeling really cramped and disjointed. I get that Pokémon always condenses its regions compared to reality, but Alola just feels so tiny and lacking that it's hard to feel that interested in playing sometimes. I feel like I love the concept of Alola, but not the execution, and for how excited I got for it to be a Pokémon region, that really sucks.
There are only 20 random Pokémon you can get from Ultra Space. I would have rather had it so that the Pokémon rotate either weekly or monthly.
Spoiler: Spoiler if not yet on Poni Island THEY DIDN'T F*#%@¥$ BRING LILLIE TO EXEGGUTOR ISLAND!!! THAT CAVE SCENE IS THE BEST MOMENT OF SM FOR ME, AND THEY TOOK IT AWAY! Just in general Lillie and Lusamine and even Guzma were given the short end of the stick compared to the original. And who did they give that extra time to? The Ultra Recon Squad, which is okay, maybe a bit to Mina, also fine, since she did basically nothing in the original, and the real problem: HAU. They gave HAU the time they took from Lillie and Lusamine and Guzma. The changes to Lusamine, which were okay I guess, made her more sympathetic, less crazy. But then they cut out the entire Ultra Space segment. This takes away Guzma's best line, as well as the heartfelt connection between Lillie and Lusamine. Thus, Lusamine doesn't develop. And the changes in Lusamine's character cause Lillie's motivations to make little sense, and take away over half of her development when you include Exeggutor Island, making her previously significant outfit change completely unnecessary. And in exchange for lessening these characters so much, the ones that were the obvious fan favorites, they added a half decent side plot with the Recon Squad and Hau got an "I want to get stronger for my team and take this seriously!" moment. Well done GameFreak. Well done. Don't get me wrong, I still like the game, and the game play and post game options are much better, but I think the story suffered heavily in exchange.
i was really disappointed when i realized that if i transferred my Pokémon from moon, i would not be able to transfer z-crystals like snorlium z and marshadium z i feel your pain Mod Edit: Please use the edit button to edit your previous post instead of double posting.
Only the fact that the Battle Tree still remained instead of something like the PWT and Festival Plaza remains largely unchanged.
