So when you firsf visit Bill, the PC system manager, in Yellow version (not sure about red+blue), you find that he has had a mishap with his teleporter and ended up being fused with a Pokémon! So you help him out to unfuse with the Pokémon and...

Wait a second what. Bill used a teleporter to fuse himself with a Pokémon. Holy shit.

As somebody who never got to play the original Yellow, I'm wondering why this was never brought up again in Pokémon games again. But now that it is brought up with the rereleases, it opens a lot of questions. Can those yellow teleporter pads in team bases possibly malfunction and fuse you with your partner Pokémon? Did they somehow work that minor issue out? Just in general, what the heck is up with that scene with Bill?

I believe that scene was in Red, Green and Blue as well. I'm certain it was in FireRed and LeafGreen. It was covered in the Pokémon Adventures manga as well, where Bill was turned into a Rattata until Red helped him.

I'd be cool with them exploring this some more, especially if the possibility of merging with my favorite Pokémon arises O.O

I've been wondering this for just a few years. It's a super-big deal for the potentials of in-game science. Not only is it possible to fuse Pokémon and humans, but what about other Pokémon beyond Kyurem and its brothers? If a human and Pokémon can fuse while being such different organisms, then perhaps any Pokémon at all should be able to combine.

The mere fact that Bill didn't die in this experiment says a lot about its potential. I doubt it will ever feature as a full game mechanic (maybe a few more GenV Mascot fusions in the future, but not universal mixability) but it would be cool of they did something other than say "what a silly idea we had, let's sweep it under the rug and hope nobody notices in the future".

I always found that scene amusing, and also interesting because Bill could apparently talk and communicate properly despite being fused with a Pokémon. He also had a "cell separation system" apparently on his computer, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to unfuse himself. It's possible that was just part of the teleportation's programming, but it's still a bit suspicious.

I could see some villainous team getting hold of this information and purposely making their teleportation machines malfunction to fuse Pokémon together with other Pokémon and humans to use as experiments. It's a bit of a long shot, but it would make sense in the canon of the Pokémon universe.

Okay, so this definitely happened in the FireRed and Leafgreen remakes of the game as well, I never played the original Red and Green myself, but it was probably in those games as well.

Now... if anyone here watches JWittz, you would know of an awful manga that takes the concept of fusing with Pokémon to a whole new level, it was bad, overly fanservicey and, most importantly, non-canon within the universe... I saw something that a lot of people have speculated due to Ash's Greninja (Come on people, Ash doesn't actually fuse with it...) and the crystals in the Japs logos for Sun and Moon looking like the Reburst crystals, there is a possibility that it could happen... And now remembering Bill's Clefairy has just worried me...

However, I'm probably just overthinking it and am taking a funnily disturbing scene and scaring myself over a not good manga.

I never played the original games, but yes, this was definitely a thing in FRLG if I remember correctly. As cool as this idea could get, we all know GameFreak too well, and we can pretty much say that they will never do something like this type of transformation to affect gameplay, barring something large and unforseen. When I first encountered this part of the game, I got a good laugh out of it, and it was a fun introduction to an otherwise... "boring?" character (I don't know another way to describe Bill).

But seriously, if were to see something like this, then it could be kind of like Shin Megami Tensei, where you combine creatures together to get more powerful ones. Although there are a lot of Pokémon, and that could get super complicated, it would still be neat.

Yeah man, I never got to play the originals myself, so I was a bit shocked ( and confused ) upon finding Bill as a Pokémon. As Del said, it seems really suspicious that he had a cell-separator device on his computer. Was he really working on a teleportation device, or was he doing some monstrous gene splicing stuff? Now that I'm thinking about it just seems. . Eerie. If I'd played this as a youngster, I probably overlook this. But now that I'm playing as an adult I'm kind of uncomfortable.

It's been awhile since I've played through Heartgold/Soulsilver, but I don't recall there being any mention of the of-so obvious teleportation device behind Bill's grandfather in Bill's house. Makes you wonder why Bill abandoned his project, and why he's seemingly avoiding his house on route 25. Maybe he created some monstrosity and is avoiding going back there in fear he'll be attacked. Maybe he wants his grandfather to die. Who knows, man. Who knows.

It should be in the originals if I'm not mistaken, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still weird. Bill is a super genius I tell you. He figured out the PC thing I tell you. Honestly, it baffles me on how he could fuse himself with a Pokémon. It really just ties into the fact that Pokémon and people may have come from the same species, which is crazy!

Oh my goodness. I've never even thought about that. Maybe his grandpa was fused with a Pokémon while visiting and Bill decided to leave his grandpa there and book it.

OK NEW THEORY FAM BUT ITS KIND OF LAME AND PROBABLY INCORRECT.

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the movie "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," but it's about two guys who teleport through time and such and collect historical figures for a history project they must present in order to pass a class and avoid military school. ANYWAYS. I was just thinkin'. . Bill from the movie used a teleporter. . Bill in the game was working on a teleporter. . Is it a coincidence?!?!?!?!?

Probably tbh, but here's my stupid theory anyways.
