Blue VS Silver

I think I like Silver more, too. He has a pretty big personality change, and he's like full douche.

But Blue's theme is WICKED. I really like it a lot. It's one of my favorite Pokémon music themes.

 

I have to go with Blue because he has more of a story behind him, there's actually a connection between your character and him, and official story coupled with some of those fan theories I like so much he appears to have more reasons for sometimes being a douche. Silver is cool and all but in comparison he just comes across like some bitter douche kid who treats people and Pokémon badly for..whatever reason. In fact I can't even remember the reason if there even was one.

 

Blue - I'm old fashioned, what can I say? Though I am a big fan of both.

 

Silver, I liked to see how he changed over the story. And having his Golbat evolve after he figured out how to care for his Pokémon was a nice touch.

 

I think Silver will wipe out Blue!

 

I think Silver is pretty cool i mean i would like to know what happen to em. I think he could beat blue without question

 

Extremely close call, but I had to go with Blue. Partly because I had a huge crush on him when I was a kid XD But I also kinda like his character development arc better than Silver's. Silver's reasons for behaving the way he does aren't clarified until HGSS, whereas Blue's reasons as a character have always been pretty clear and I think knowing the reasons behind a character's behaviour always makes said behaviour more interesting, whether it's good or bad. Also, I like when you see him again in GSC/HGSS, you can see how he's changed as a person and he's much more mellow and mature.

Also, Blue had that great theme music.

 

Silver was more chaotic in my opinion. He seemed so dangerous and I absolutely loved that compared to Blue who was overall more cocky and more of a jerk.

 

Silver, he looks more badass than any other rival, I also like his flip in character later on in the game.

 

I like Silver, because of how his character changes. I also like how you could battle with him in the Dragon's Den in a double battle against Clair and Lance. c:

 

Silver, definitely. He starts off as plain evil, but later on in the game he realizes his own mistakes, and starts actually caring for his Pokémon. Also, wasn't he the son of Giovanni or something like that?

 

Silver because he was seriously a complete ass to the trainer, yet he was caring for his Pokémon in his own way. I saw the backstory behind Silver and it gave some newfound respect to him.

 

I preferred Silver because he seemed to be much more complex as a character. He was more interesting to me. Even though they both did kind of change inside, I sensed more character development, a deeper personality, and sense of drive in Silver.

 

Blue/Green is a staple and really iconic. I loved him in the manga but games-wise he didn't stick out too much, at least in my eyes, except for his music. Silver grew a lot more as a character than Blue did so he definitely gets my vote.

 

Gotta go with Silver. He changed towards the end whereas Blue just stayed a prick.

I liked Silver in comparison to Blue. He started out bad, stealing a Pokémon and then continuously stating his team was weak every time you defeated him. But as you progressed you can see him slowly changing his view on Pokémon and that is good character development! Unlike Blue who remained an a$$.

 

I love Silver a lot as a rival, even though your rival in RBY definitely has the better battle theme. His backstory and character growth in the games is really good in my opinion, and he's one of the strongest rivals to-date in terms of character development. I especially liked how he was referenced in some other Pokémon games (Giovanni having a son with red hair was mentioned in FRLG), and I liked how you could battle alongside him at one point in HGSS.
