Bravely Default

I bought Bravely Default many months ago but I've never really gone past the first town. I got really busy that time so I didn't get many chances to play it. It looks pretty fun though. It's been rotting in my game case for months so I guess I should start playing it again soon.

 

I got it release day, and it was way too hard even on Easy.

 

Bravely Default is a fantastic game. I love the characters, the music (I'm upset Square Enix didn't release the ENTIRE OST and just a handful of tracks; what's up with that?), the battle system, and the plot (even though it's very similar to numerous FF plots, the twists and character development really make it). I don't find it very difficult on Normal Mode, but then again I've been playing JRPGs for years (including Final Fantasy--particularly FFV and FFIII, both which utilize a Jobs system), so it's just experience. I'm also overleveled in my current file, ahahaha.

Favorite character would have to be Ringabel. Funny enough, he started off as my least fave when I downloaded the demo because he didn't seem that interesting to me. In fact, the characters I liked the least in the demo--Ringabel and Edea--became my faves of the four in the game and my faves (Agnès and Tiz) became my least faves. I also really like Einheria; she's my fave of the Asterisk-using antagonists. As for favorite class, it's gotta be Vampire. I normally hate Blue Mage-esque classes, but there aren't too many monster techniques to acquire compared to in other games, plus you can have a Pirate subclass w/ Provoke to make enemies attack you and thus get the skill.

Also, I'm super excited for the sequel. From what I've seen so far, it's looking really good, hnnngh.

Looks like you beat me to the punch Richard. I love Bravely Default a lot. I played it all day today and I am just loving the fighting style and how similar it is to Final Fantasy without being just another ripoff. Bravely Default > Final Fantasy imo.
