And we're here with the Game of the Week! The Saints go to Los Angeles to take on the Rams in a highly anticipated rematch of last season's NFC Championship Game!

New Orleans Saints vs Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum September 15, 2019 (4:25 PM EST)

On the west coast of Los Angeles California awaits the long anticipated NFC Championship Game rematch! Most of us watching the playoffs know of the outcome that could've changed the course of the Super Bowl, however the New Orleans Saints will be pumped and eager to exact vengeance on the team that took their rightful spot.

The Keys to Victory and Final Score

Expect the Saints to be aggressively attacking the Rams defense. Quarterback Drew Brees has many weapons at his disposal such as wide receivers Michael Thomas, Tre'Quan Smith, tight end Jared Cook and running back Alvin Kamara. Rams run tight coverages in a fluid adaptable scheme, so they will need to be on the lookout for surprises and deceptive plays. Michael Thomas is one of the elite wide receivers playing today and he has the speed, footwork and hands to outplay the Rams' secondary. Expect him to have a big game.

The Rams defense is the big factor in slowing down Drew Brees. Led by All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald, the pass rush is going to have a tough task of breaking through a Saints offensive line that yielded zero sacks to fellow All-Pro Texans defensive lineman JJ Watt. Brees will find himself with plenty of easy targets if given enough time and pass protection to throw play action passes downfield.

Expect this to be a high scoring game.
    Final score: Saints 30 - Rams 28

Yeah, that looks about right, though I personally would err towards a lower score... 21-18, maybe, but that's mostly due to my cautious nature. Most of this last week's matches were extremely lopsided (and to be perfectly frank I think it was set up like that on purpose), so I think that when two relatively strong teams like the Saints and Rams go against each other the results will be relatively tame.

Well, it's the 4th quarter and things are a fair bit more lopsided than initially thought, but a lot of it seems to have to do with the lack of Brees. With him not on the field, the Saints offense seems lacklustre, though it certainly says something to Brees' leadership if he's able to bring out the best in his offense when he's there.

I know Week 2 still has one more game, but I thought I would comment a bit of an injury update from yesterday's games:

    - Big Ben Roethlisberger is out for the rest of the season, which is a big blow to not only the team, but to him personally. I hope he recovers well! James Connor is also injured, as well as a few other players.

    - Drew Brees is out for approximately six weeks. He hurt his thumb on Aaron Donald and needs surgery. Fortunately, he will be returning around mid-season. I wish him a speedy recovery as well!

    - Sam Darnold is out with mononucleosis, and could be gone anywhere from three to seven weeks. The Jets will miss his presence, especially considering how he played in week one. (not a flashy game, but it was fairly effective)

    - There were many other players as well, you can find a more detailed report here: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...otable-injuries-from-sundays-week-2-nfl-games

Even if a team or player I dislike has an injury, I can't help but feel sorry for them. Each of these injured players have real lives and injuries can greatly derail them. We saw this recently with Andrew Luck, and how injuries wore on him so much, it eventually lead to his decision to retire.

Jets vs. Browns is tonight though, with the Jets having a couple of major injuries to deal with.

Agreed. No matter whether you like a team or hate it, the fact of the matter is that these people are living, breathing souls who have their own hopes and dreams, fears and sorrows. They bleed the same as anyone else, and like all they will eventually die. The fact that they are out there, putting in every bit of energy that they have to perfecting their work, together with their allies and friends, is admirable and something we all should strive to emulate (yes, there are exceptions, but they tend to not last nearly as long). I do hope everyone is able to recover quickly...

    • Los Angeles Chargers @ Detroit Lions - Final Score 10-13
      • Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw the go ahead touchdown to wideout Kenny Golladay, but made two costly interceptions. However they hung on to defeat the Chargers.
    • Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers - Final Score 16-21
      • The Packers ride off the early start of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' two early touchdowns while the defense took care of Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, picking him off twice.
    • San Francisco 49ers @ Cincinnati Bengals - Final Score 41-17

    • Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans - Final score 19-17
      • Aside from the literal dumpster fire at Nissan Stadium, the Colts manage to hang on spoiling the Titans' home opener in their first victory after quarterback Andrew Luck's retirement. Jacoby Brissett threw for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns.
    • Buffalo Bills @ New York Giants - Final Score 28-14
      • Led by quarterback Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills defeat both New York teams in consecutive weeks, passing for a touchdown and running for another. The Giants have confirmed that quarterback Daniel Jones will be the starter for Week 3 and Eli Manning has been benched.
    • New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins - Final Score 43-0
      • Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown finally catches his first score of the 2019 season as well as the first one not as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers while they shut out the struggling Dolphins.
    • Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers - Final Score 28-26
      • The Seattle Seahawks offense clicked with quarterback Russell Wilson throwing for a trio of touchdowns while Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a shoulder injury and is confirmed to be out for the remainder of the season.

    • Chicago Bears @ Denver Broncos - Final Score 16-14
      • Former Bears coach Vic Fangio...now the Broncos head coach gave Denver the lead on a ballsy two point conversion, which was ruined by a thriller of a field goal by Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro.
    • New Orleans Saints @ Los Angeles Rams - Final Score 9-27
      • The Saints suffered another loss regardless of a no-call while starting quarterback Drew Brees was held on the sideline.
    • Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders - Final Score 28-10
      • Despite the Raiders' huge lead; Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recovered from his first career scoreless opening quarter to throw four touchdowns and 443 yards.
    • Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons - Final Score 20-24 Sunday Night Football
      • Falcons wideout Julio Jones turned a short pass into a 54 yard touchdown at the closing minutes of the fourth quarter to power them past the Eagles. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was significantly injured in the game and his timetable to return is not known.
    • Cleveland Browns @ New York Jets - Final Score 23-3 Monday Night Football
      • Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 325 yards while wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. scores an 89 yard touchdown in his return to the New York area.

    • Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles - Final Score 27-24

And it's time for Game of the Week!

New England Patriots vs Buffalo Bills
New Era Field September 29, 2019 (1:00PM EST)

We go to upstate New York for an interdivisional rivalry game between the two undefeated teams of the AFC East! Both have put up strong performances and look to be in excellent shape for the season going forward, however this matchup could definitely show who's ready for the postseason months away and who isn't.

The Keys to Victory and Final Score

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is 15-2 in Buffalo during his nearly two decade long career. He's frequently had their number and gotten the best of them throughout the years. All eyes will be on the secondary with the likes of cornerback Tre'Davious White and safety Tremaine Edmunds hoping to slow down the Patriots' juggernaut offense. They'll have their hands full with wide receivers Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon, both big threats. Buffalo is strong against the run, so it is possible for the running back carousel of Rex Burkhead, Sony Michel and James White to encounter trouble.

The Bills will need to get their offense early or at least keep up with the Patriots. Sticking to one possession games is key. New England's defense is also one of the stronger in the league and can easily suffocate a quarterback when they're in a deficit. Bills quarterback Josh Allen has had his share of mistakes and he'll need to be on point and make as few errors as possible.

Look for the Patriots to pull of a victory, however the Bills will fight them for it tooth and nail.
    Final Score: Patriots 29 - Bills 24

    • Tennessee Titans @ Atlanta Falcons - Final Score 24-10
      • The Titans throw for 3 touchdown passes in the first half while the defense held the Falcons from converting three fourth-down attempts.
    • New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills - Final Score 16-10

    • Carolina Panthers @ Houston Texans - Final Score 16-10

    • Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Los Angeles Rams - Final Score 55-40
      • Bucs wideout Chris Godwin caught two touchdown passes while defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh returned a fumble for a score late in the fourth to hand the Rams their first loss of the season. The score of this game is unique.
    • Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals - Final Score 27-10
      • The Seattle Seahawks dominate the Cardinals on offense and defense with both sides scoring at least once.

    • Dallas Cowboys @ New Orleans Saints - Final Score 10-12 Sunday Night Football
      • The Saints top the Cowboys in a defensive struggle.
    • Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers - Final Score 3-27 Monday Night Football
      • The Steelers revive themselves and destroy the Bengals. Quarterback Mason Rudolph threw for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Green Bay Packers vs Dallas Cowboys
    AT&T Stadium Sunday October 6, 2019 (3:25 PM EST)

The next game of the week takes us to the home of America's Team in Arlington, Texas. The Packers roll in, hoping to make up for the loss to Philadelphia last Thursday. Likewise, the Cowboys suffered a setback in the loss to the Saints in a tough matchup.
Who will win after their slump of last week? Let's read the Keys to Victory and Final Score.

The Keys to Victory and Final Score

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is ever so dangerous with his passing game. The Cowboys will need to bring pressure early and limit the times he gets outside the pocket to extend plays. Also look for running backs Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams to get plenty of touches in a rough running game. The Packers have the potential to score many points early and it can prove a daunting task to keep up with their high octane offense.

For the Cowboys, their biggest assets on offense will be running back Ezekiel Elliott and wide receiver Amari Cooper. This dual threat of passing and running has to be contained if the Packers hope to stay ahead. Elliott has posted solid numbers and should always be kept in check.

    Final Score: Packers 17 - Cowboys 20

I'm surprised by how big the numbers were for the Packers-Cowboys game (still more that the Cowboys were sorely losing until they started closing the gap in the latter half).

I think it would've been more competitive if the Cowboys didn't turn the ball over so much. For whatever reason, the Packers backed off once Prescott started passing in the second half. (he had almost twice as much passing yards as Rodgers)

It was basically a repeat scenario in the first. Cowboys would drive up towards the redzone and then cough the ball up or just sputter. If they were able to capitalize on their drives and keep up with Green Bay, they would've made it a closer game.

    • Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys - Final Score 34-24
      • The Packers attacked hard on the ground...running back Aaron Jones scored four times as they held off a late Cowboys rally.
    • Indianapolis Colts @ Kansas City Chiefs - Final Score 19-10
      • Colts running backs Marlon Mack and Jordan Wilkins ran for a combined 160 yards as the defense kept Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in check to stun the NFL MVP and hand Kansas City their first loss of the season.
    • Cleveland Browns @ San Francisco 49ers - Final Score 3-31 MNF
      • Led by cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Nick Bosa; the 49ers posted a dominant performance over the struggling Browns; tallying two interceptions and sacking Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield four times.
And now it's time again for Game of the Week!

Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Sunday October 13, 2019 (3:05 PM EST)

This Sunday, we're having an NFC West divisional matchup that can play key to the race in this highly competitive division. The Los Angeles Rams seek to gain lost ground from consecutive losses against the Buccaneers and Seahawks while the 49ers will attempt to remain undefeated while facing arguably their most difficult opponent in their tough schedule.
Can the 49ers stay perfect for one more week? Or will Los Angeles recover from their recent skid to snatch a victory away? The Keys to Victory and Final Score will explain more.

The Keys to Victory and Final Score

Predictions are going more towards this being a defensive battle, despite both teams having potent offenses. The Rams have more weapons at their disposal however, with running back Todd Gurley, wide receivers Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks. The 49ers have already forced twice the amount of takeaways since the beginning than the entirety of last season. Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been quite productive so far and ranks up at the top for overall passing yards, however he has almost twice the amount of interceptions as 49ers Jimmy Garoppolo opposite him and many have proven costly. If Goff wants to keep the 49ers behind in the rearview mirror, he'll have to make smarter decisions against the San Francisco secondary.

The 49ers will likely have the more difficult time offensively due to the injuries to starting tackles Joe Staley and Mike McGlinchey being immovable blockers crucial to allowing Garoppolo in having more time. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk is also out with an injury and was a major contributor to the running game. The 49ers offensive line will need to have a game plan for the league's best pass rusher Aaron Donald, who has been nothing short of unstoppable so far. Keeping him at bay will giv Garoppolo a chance to find his weapons down field such as wide receiver Dante Pettis and Deebo Samuel as well as tight end George Kittle. The Rams have an average defense as well, but don't be surprised if there are bursts from the tandem of Tevin Coleman and Matt Brieda.
Look for it to be a close game with the Rams making a late score to edge out the 49ers.

    Final Score: 49ers 21 - Rams 23

We're almost to the halfway point of the season. Are there teams thinking about playoffs already? We might have to wait a few more weeks to see.

New York Giants @ New England Patriots - Final score 14 - 35 (TNF)

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Final score 27 - 26 (Game in London)

    Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens - Final score 17 - 23

    Seattle Seahawks @ Cleveland Browns - Final score 32 - 28

    New Orleans Saints @ Jacksonville Jaguars - Final score 13 - 6

    Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs - Final score 31 - 24

    Washington Redskins @ Miami Dolphins - Final score 17 - 16

    Philadelphia Eagles @ Minnesota Vikings - Final score 20 - 38

    Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals - Final score 33 - 34

    San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams - Final score 20 - 7

    Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos - Final score 0 - 16

    Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets - Final score 22 - 24

    Pittsburgh Steelers @ Los Angeles Chargers - Final score 24 - 17

Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers - Final score 22 - 23 (MNF)

Now let's move on to Game I of this weeks Game of the Week doubleheader!

New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears
    Soldier Field | October 20, 2019 (4:25 PM EST)

This Sunday, we will be heading to the legendary Soldier Field for this game of the week for this NFC matchup. The Bears are coming off a bye week after a tough loss against Oakland in London in Week 5. Mitch Trubisky is expected to play, which could mean good things. Teddy Bridgewater and the Saints looking to keep their hot streak going, looking for their 5th consecutive win since he took over. Let's see how each team could pull off a win.

The Keys to Victory and Final Score

For New Orleans, it's a different story than the past few weeks. Teddy Bridgewater has the surehanded Michael Thomas and the speed demon Ted Ginn to throw the ball to. Alvin Kamara might have some trouble breaking through the Chicago front four, but also expect him to catch some passes out of the backfield.

For Chicago, it's all about getting that defense back on track. DL Khalil Mack was essentially a no-show in the Week 5 loss to Oakland, failing to get his hands on Derek Carr and getting a lone fumble recovery. The Bears are hopeful that their defense can play like the 4th ranked unit they are in order to allow the offense to flow more smoothly.

It'll be a tough, but even matchup for both teams, but I see Chicago getting there defense back to where it is in a shutdown win.

    Final Score: Bears 23 - Saints 10

It has been a little while, but the playoff picture is becoming more and more clear, especially in the NFC! The teams I'm predicting will enter the playoffs from each conference:

    NFC:
    Saints
    Seahawks
    Packers
    Cowboys
    49ers
    Vikings

The NFC's wild card spots will be a tough nut to crack, especially with Seattle/San Fran in one spot and Minnesota/Green Bay in the other. Despite being a middling team, Dallas is catching a break with a pretty poor division performance. The Redskins and Giants are bottom five teams and the Eagles have had major issues in the secondary and in their receiving group. Saints are the first team to clinch, but expect a few more teams to do so soon.

    AFC:
    Patriots
    Ravens
    Chiefs
    Texans
    Bills
    Titans

The Titans are on a tear right now. Having won five of their last six under the unexpected performance of Ryan Tannehill, they are a real threat to sneak into the playoffs. Pittsburgh has the tie-breaker right now, but has severe offensive deficiencies that could damage their team badly. I see the Titans winning three of their last four and making it. The Bills have such a huge lead on the wild card, I'd be shocked to see them miss out. The Ravens and Patriots will likely each finish with records of around 13-3 or even 14-2. Chiefs look to have pushed the Raiders far enough to win their division. The Texans look as solid as ever despite having some tough games on their schedule.

The next four weeks will be great! Really interested to see the Steelers and Titans race for the wild card spot (or even one of the 6-6 teams sneak through, who knows?)

Hey all, I apologize for taking such a long hiatus. It looks like the playoffs had all finished in some wild games and definite upsets. But now we're at the final game of the season; Super Bowl LIV being hosted at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida!

I'll admit that my heart can't take this because they're the two teams I have especially close ties to. The Kansas City Chiefs were my team when I lived in Kansas for more than half my life. And the San Francisco 49ers, the team we as an extended family cheer for because of us all being born and raised in the Bay Area.

Or we can just call this the Joe Montana, Elvis Grbac, Steve Bono and Alex Smith Bowl. Seriously, there's a lot of quarterbacks that played for both teams participating. Montana even said that he knows his team is guaranteed to win at this point! Or even the World Series Bowl...back in 2014 when these two cities' respective baseball teams, the Kansas City Royals dueled the San Francisco Giants in a tooth and nail battle for the title that came down to the final moment of Game 7. It was a game of destiny against dynasty...something that could very well be repeated on Sunday.
This is the first meeting of the two teams in the postseason (as is any AFC team against NFC team) and the 49ers lead the all time record in matchups 7-6 and the two teams did not play against each other during the regular season.

I'll be doing something a little different this time than what I've usually done with Game of the Week. Going through an in-depth analysis of both teams' assets and how it will play out in arguably the biggest game of the season. Without further ado, let's get started.

AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs - Home Team
    Record: 12-4
    Head Coach: Andy Reid
#2 seed in AFC playoffs. Defeated Houston Texans in Divisional Round & defeated Tennessee Titans in AFCCG
    Super Bowl record: 1-1

After the heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots in the previous season's AFCCG due to a single penalty; the Kansas City Chiefs had not let that setback stop what they believed was the inevitable. Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn't have the jaw dropping performance he did last season and even missed a couple of games due to an injury mid-season, but the offense stayed relatively intact over the offseason with the front office making substantial improvements on the other side of the ball, which proved to be its Achilles heel.

Still, despite setbacks and some losses; the Chiefs were able to punch out a 12-4 record and seal their spot in the playoffs as the #2 seed. In both of the divisional round games against AFC South contenders; the Chiefs were off to a slow start, but finally clicked together in monster comebacks as they enjoyed home field advantage thanks to the Tennessee Titans knocking off the #1 seeded Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round.

The Chiefs are a relentless team, the offense being arguably the most dangerous in the league and the defense much improved from last season; coming up with clutch plays when needed the most. They face the greatest challenge this season yet; one win away from bringing the Vince Lombardi trophy back after a 50 year absence from the title game.

This will be the Chiefs' third Super Bowl appearance overall. They first appeared in Super Bowl I, where they lost to the Green Bay Packers 35-10 and won Super Bowl IV against the Minnesota Vikings 23-7.

NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers - Away Team
    Record: 13-3
    Head Coach: Kyle Shanahan
#1 seed in NFC playoffs: Defeated Minnesota Vikings in Divisional Round & defeated Green Bay Packers in NFCCG
    Super Bowl record: 5-1

San Francisco's rise to dominate the NFC came as a massive shock to the league. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's injury of a torn ACL (coincidentally against the Chiefs) hindered their hopes of a winning season which hadn't occurred since 2013.
Garoppolo was healthy enough to take the helm for the entire season thus far. The former New England Patriot was traded to the 49ers back in the middle of the 2016 season and saw little playing time aside from stepping in for an absent Tom Brady at one point. Although the injury derailed his chances of playing a full season; he posted career numbers upon his return.
However, the largest improvement to the 49ers from their abysmal performance last season was their defense. The addition of several members; linebackers Dee Ford and Kwon Alexander as well as second overall pick; rookie Nick Bosa revitalized a suffocating defensive scheme that held opposing teams to the fewest yards allowed.

San Francisco was the last team to remain undefeated during the regular season; winning their first 8 games and each of their losses were determined by a single score. They finished the regular season with a 13-3 record, tying with the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers, however due to them winning matchups against both the Packers and Saints, it allowed them to clinch the #1 seed in the NFC.

Similar to the Chiefs in the Divisional Round, they came off to a slow start against the Minnesota Vikings, but rallied and shut out the Vikings in the entire second half while tallying up points in every quarter to assure victory. The NFCCG against the Green Bay Packers saw them shutting them out for the first half, while running back Raheem Mostert saw a career performance; rushing for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns; the second most in postseason history.

The 49ers are a well-rounded team and they are not to be underestimated. As shown by their performance this season; they are capable of making dynamic plays on any side of the ball.

This will be the 49ers' seventh appearance in the Super Bowl. They defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in XVI 26-21. The Miami Dolphins in XIX 38-16. The Cincinnati Bengals in XXIII 20-16. The Denver Broncos in XXIV 55-10. The San Diego Chargers in XXIX 49-26.

Now let's put a comparison of each team's strengths and weaknesses.

    Kansas City Chiefs

    Strengths
    • Patrick Mahomes: Seriously. The best quarterback to watch in the NFL right now besides Lamar Jackson. Mahomes displays an elite talent, combining several other characteristics of elite quarterbacks; an arm like Matthew Stafford, rushing ability like Cam Newton and intellect like Peyton Manning. While the 49ers defense will get to him from time to time, it's also only a matter of that time before he finds holes and openings to make dynamic plays. San Francisco's going to need to be on their toes the entire game, as Mahomes can be unpredictable, elusive and lethally accurate.
    • Elite wide receiver group: Nicknamed the "Legion of Zoom" by Chiefs fans; the wide receiving corps only makes Mahomes and the Chiefs offense that much more of a threat. All three of the starters; Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson were previously track stars and boast one of the highest average 40 yard dash times of any wide receiver corps in the NFL. The 49ers defensive back group will have to be spread thin, but also tightly enough so that anyone that ends up catching the ball won't be able to get away. That will still be a problem, given Hill's ability to juke defenders or even win one on one matchups as a deep threat.
    • Travis Kelce: And if the wide receivers aren't an option, Mahomes still has his top target; tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce has a similar profile and build to former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. He does the most damage in gaining yards after the catch and has proven to be a complete headache to tackle. He's an excellent mismatch target; being too fast for linebackers and too large for cornerbacks to take down. It's hard not to imagine him getting a large role in Sunday's game.
    • An underrated defense: Although leaky; the Chiefs defense has definitely improved since the start of the season. The additions of defensive lineman Frank Clark and Tyrann Mathieu have proved extremely beneficial and even added veteran Terrell Suggs who has proven he's still able to play at a high level. The run defense was especially strong against the Titans, holding off juggernaut running back Derrick Henry to a measly 69 yards. While Raheem Mostert isn't Derrick Henry, it's feasible to say that the run defense will need to be at the top fo their game to bottle him up and take away a 49ers advantage. Look for that defensive line to get after Garoppolo, forcing him to be sacked by either Frank Clark or Chris Jones.
    Weaknesses
    • Defense: While underrated; it's entirely probable that the Chiefs' defense; clearly inferior to the 49ers' can cost them the game. Other teams have been able to run the ball at will and even pass if given enough time.
    • Turnover potential: The 49ers defense will be thriving off turnovers. The last thing the Chiefs want are costly fumbles or interceptions by San Francisco's defensive back corps led by Richard Sherman.
    • Clock management: Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has been sharply criticized by his game management in his last Super Bowl appearance as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles back in Super Bowl XXXIX during the final minutes of the last quarter. Since then, it has continued to haunt the Chiefs in both regular season and playoff games. Reid's coaching of burning out the clock and minimizing probabilities of turning the ball over means that there is little room for error. While Mahomes has performed well under pressure, engineering comebacks in the final minutes of a game, it's been a significant factor that cost the Chiefs a win more than once.
    The X-factor
    • Tyrann Mathieu: The Honey Badger has a tendency to break up opposing team's momentum. If there's a big play happening, it's a good chance he's going to get involved.
    • Sammy Watkins: No doubt everyone's going to be covered by the 49ers' defense. However both Hill and Kelce are likely going to get more attention than the others...and this opens up opportunities for a speed demon like Watkins to torch the secondary.
    • Mecole Hardman: Hardman's often played on special teams as a return man and he's shown that he has speed, agility and athleticism to take a kickoff to the house.

    San Francisco 49ers

    Strengths

    • Defensive front: Sack Francisco is back! The fearsome four defensive line of Arik Armstead, Deforest Buckner, Dee Ford and Nick Bosa have established themselves as a game-changing impenetrable front, able to contain some of the league's top rushers as well as becoming a quarterback's worst nightmare. All four on the defensive line have the ability to make plays and they're going to be the greatest challenge for the Chiefs offensive line. It's not a matter of if they get to Mahomes...it's when.
    • Explosive offense: Kyle Shanahan is one of the most brilliant offensive playcallers in the league. Jimmy Garoppolo isn't afraid to take risks. And so far it's paid off. The receiving corps besides Emmanuel Sanders, Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle aren't well known around, but playmakers like Kendrick Bourne and Ross Dwelley stepped up to the challenge when asked. Expect the 49ers offense to take some of those risks...after all nothing ventured; nothing gained.
    • Move matching: The 49ers have been able to keep up with opponents who score ahead of them, or remain ahead. Regardless of the way; they've been able to find an advantage that keeps them on the heels and never truly out of the game.
    • Game management: One of the things Shanahan must do if they are to stay ahead; is to keep Mahomes off the field as much as possible. That means grinding the battle in the trenches, running down the clock to consume time as well as moving into a position to score.
    Weaknesses
    • Mismatches: Although rare, the 49ers have been burned on mismatches and it's something the Chiefs will no doubt exploit. The amount of weapons the Chiefs have at their disposal on offense will mean the staffing will be stretched thin in order to deny any possible big play. Somewhere in there; a mismatch will be located. And Mahomes will exploit it. They need to be ready.
    • Pressure: The game manager style of football is excellent when you're ahead, but makes it hard to come back from big deficits due to the mindset of turning the football over. The Chiefs have the potential to bury the 49ers in a hole. A hole that might be too much to climb out of as the game clock continues to trickle down.
    • Mobile quarterback: Two of the three losses the 49ers suffered this year have been at the hands of fast, mobile dual-threat quarterbacks. While the defensive front can get to him, he also has the ability to scramble and escape pressures. And as Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson proved; extending the play could be disastrous.
    The X-factor
    • Raheem Mostert: While Kyle Shanahan is big on passing, he's also known to slip in a powerful rushing attack to keep the defense off balance. It could very well be up to this man to punch in a score at the 1 yard line. He can get it done.
    • Kwon Alexander & Fred Warner: The defensive front may be the highlight of this elite unit, but the middle linebackers of Kwon Alexander, Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw are the brains. Much of the success is owed to these players, able to make adjustments and dismantle big plays before they happen. Truly living up to the legacy of Patrick Willis & Navorro Bowman.
    • Richard Sherman: The man who denied the 49ers a trip to the Super Bowl 6 years ago, punched their ticket in a game-sealing pick off Aaron Rodgers. While not in his prime; Sherman has proven he's still one of the best cornerbacks in the league, as most quarterbacks rarely ever make throws in his direction. And it's not just in his ability to make plays, but also his leadership in the field.
It's going to be a very interesting game. I'm excited for both teams and can't wait for Sunday! Best of luck!

@BraviaryScout That is an amazing analysis! I don't think I have anything worthwhile to add as far as matchups go, but I'll give my two cents.

After the horrendously boring bowl of last year, I am stoked for this year's matchup. The Chiefs and 49ers each have such exciting playstyles, ones that I feel will make for an interesting rollercoaster. I am personally rooting for the Chiefs for this game, largely due to me wanting Andy Reid to get his first ring as a head coach (and Mahomes getting a ring sounds pretty good too, he's super likable). Here's to a great game on Sunday!

And Super Bowl LIV is in the books! Congratulations to our NFL Super Bowl Champions!

    Kansas City Chiefs
The win was anything but easy. However the Chiefs pulled another miracle from their bag of tricks to engineer a comeback for the history books as they picked apart the 49ers defense in the fourth quarter to claim the Vince Lombardi Trophy again after a 5 decade hiatus!
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named as the Super Bowl MVP. He threw 26-42 passes for 286 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

With the win and the award; Mahomes became the youngest quarterback in NFL history to lead his team to victory in the Super Bowl as well as the youngest recipient of the Super Bowl MVP award.
Head Coach Andy Reid is no longer the winningest coach in the NFL without a Super Bowl win!

With the Super Bowl concluding, we now move towards the offseason and what all 32 teams will make in preparation for the new league year.

Brav is signing off. See you all for the 2020 season.

Hello and it's time to begin the offseason analysis! Free Agency is only a month away and we're already seeing teams unveil their plans on how to attack the offseason! Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs may still be partying, but the general manager of the Chiefs; Brett Veach and the other 31 GMs have a lot of work to do between now and August!

Here I am going to address some big needs for each NFL team by division. Hope everyone enjoys. I'll be starting with the AFC North.

    Baltimore Ravens
    • Let Matt Judon walk: Baltimore's top free agent is going to be a highly coveted one this offseason. Pass rusher Matt Judon had a breakout season, earning Pro Bowl honors. He's 27; right in the prime of his career and likely to receive a lucrative contract wherever he goes, exceeding the number fellow Ravens linebacker Za'Darius Smith received when he signed with the Packers. His asking price might be high, but a deal to remain in Baltimore needs to happen now if they ever hope to keep him around. NFL MVP Lamar Jackson will be due a mega extension that's likely to break the record for the richest in the league's history. Baltimore has some promising depth in a player like Tyus Bowser, so it is entirely possible that Judon walks for someone like the Raiders, Jets or Dolphins who might end up paying him more money.
    • Extend Ronnie Stanley: Lamar Jackson has an impressive scrambling ability that's destroyed defensive plans. And much of it is owed to the Ravens' offensive line and Ronnie Stanley's incredible blocking ability. Keeping the strong offensive line together is going to be key to Lamar's successes in future seasons.
    • Find replacements for Brandon Carr and Jimmy Smith: There's no doubt that the Ravens' defensive backfield was one of the most dangerous with the addition of safety Earl Thomas. Then mid-season, general manager Eric DeCosta fleeced the Rams into giving them Marcus Peters for a depth chart player and a fifth round pick. With the new talent brought in; the team can shed the older players and make salary cap room for Jackson. Even though the Ravens have depth in cornerback behind Peters in Marlon Humphrey; they'll likely have to look into free agency for a good nickel. Releasing Carr and Jimmy Smith will definitely free up room to lock up Humphrey as well.
    Cincinnati Bengals
    • Cut Carlos Dunlap: Carlos Dunlap holds the Bengals all-time record for sacks. His consistent play is remarkable, having played every Bengals game since 2014. However, his salary of $15 million a year is likely an indication that he'll end up being released if he doesn't agree to a pay cut. Having a durable defensive end like Dunlap doesn't happen often and his performance reflects that longevity. Cincinnati has other weapons to use for pass rush like defensive tackle Geno Atkins and lineman Sam Hubbard, but they'll need to get some cap room for signing linebackers behind. An unfortunate loss, but Dunlap will likely be going.
    • Trade Andy Dalton: It's probably the time for the Red Rifle to end his career in Cincinnati. Dalton may be beloved...or hated in the fanbase, but many are hopeful for a signal calling change; looking to the draft to find the next quarterback. Both sides have acknowledged the fact that he is going to be let go, however they've actually allowed him to choose a preferred spot rather than dole him out for the first offer. Is it hard to imagine getting a fourth or fifth round pick from someone like the Bears, Buccaneers or Redskins?
    • Give Joe Mixon a mid-level extension: Joe Mixon was one the few bright spots in a rather abysmal Cincinnati offense. Wide receiver AJ Green sat out the entire season with injury and tight end Tyler Eifert has yet to replicate his breakout season years ago. It took a while for Mixon to get going, but he finally started to catch fire during the late half. Cincinnati has veteran Giovani Bernard, who functioned as a solid receiving back behind Mixon, but isn't quite starter material. A two to three year extension would do best here to give him the room to have his inevitable breakout season.
    • Invest in linebackers after drafting Joe Burrow: There's no doubt that the Bengals are going to be taking LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the first overall pick. It would be a shock if they didn't. However, they have much more needs besides quarterback. They're thin at linebacker and by the time the clock comes back to them in the second round; most of the top prospects are expected to be already taken. Trading in is an option, but the front office will likely want to hold all their picks and find the right talent accordingly. Expect a group of linebackers to go to Cincy.
    Cleveland Browns
    • Draft the best offensive tackle available: Cleveland's two best offensive linemen have left; Joe Thomas has hit retirement and Mitchell Schwartz helped the Chiefs win a Super Bowl. And none of their replacements have lived up to the task. This free agent class has a lot of good right tackle options, so they can focus on the left side with someone like Andrew Thomas or Mekhi Becton while signing another to a short term deal in free agency. Jason Peters of the Eagles is 38, yet continues to play as if he's ten years younger. He's a likely casualty of their roster cuts and could be brought on for a cheap price.
    • Sign Anthony Harris: Both the Browns' starting safeties; Morgan Burnett and Demarious Randall are going to be free agents. Re-signing both of them is going to be quite expensive and it's possible one or both will be walking for more lucrative options. The Browns have young players at the secondary, but will need to bring in a more seasoned defensive back that could help form a leadership role and solidify their soft passing defense. Anthony Harris has ties to new coach Karl Stefanski from the Vikings and would fit very well into their new scheme.
    • Pick up David Njoku's fifth year option: Head coach Karl Stefanski is known for utilizing his tight ends to their best of abilities. The product out of Miami has struggled with consistent play and with him set to enter the final year of his contract, it's a now or never time for him. At the same time, Njoku's shown flashes of the plays he used to dominate in college and it's a hopeful thought that Stefanski can utilize those abilities to give him a chance to show why he was drafted in the first round.
    Pittsburgh Steelers
    • Release or trade James Conner: James Conner is one of those feel-good Cinderella stories with him overcoming lymphoma to making the Pro Bowl. While he's definitely a beloved figure in Pittsburgh after stepping in to ball out for the absent Le'Veon Bell; he's struggled with injuries and inconsistent ability to play a full season. It's coming that time where Conner will need to improve his durability, otherwise it's also probably time to shop him to other teams while he still holds some value.
    • Franchise Bud Dupree: It's been a mutual statement as linebacker Bud Dupree voiced his desire to remain a Pittsburgh Steeler and the team wants him there. However, his asking price may be higher than what they're wanting to pay him. A deal does need to get done, especially with more on the way that won't be cheap either with Juju Smith Schuster and TJ Watt. Unrestricted, Dupree is definitely going to be drawing interest from other teams, so it would be a smart move to franchise tag him while the two sides work out a long-term deal in the future.
    • Draft defensively: Despite the intention to retain Dupree; the Steelers still have a lot of work to do on the defense. With their sights on a Super Bowl closing quickly, they'll need to get much of the right players in the draft with the fewer picks they have. Addressing cornerback is arguably a big priority; as there's little depth behind Artie Burns, Joe Haden and Steven Nelson. The safety group got an upgrade with Minkah Fitzpatrick from the Dolphins, but they're in a prime spot in the second round to invest a pick in a developing safety or nickel back to supplement their fortifications against the pass. Defense is important, although they will need to also find some weapons for whoever becomes quarterback this season in another wide receiver opposite Juju Smith Schuster and a tight end.

Now we have the AFC South

    Houston Texans
    • Re-sign DJ Reader: Nose tackle DJ Reader had an excellent breakout season and he's poised to have a big new contract if the Texans are willing to pay up. Reader's presence in front has disrupted run schemes and the team's seen quite a bit of success when stacking the box. This will be especially important when you play in a division with Derrick Henry and Leonard Fournette. Reader won't be a cheap signing, but it might take a mid tier signing like a 3-4 year contract to keep him around for his best plays. Houston's placement at the bottom half of the league for sacks is also concerning despite plays from linebacker Whitney Mercilus. JJ Watt is still All-Pro caliber, but he's only getting older and more injury prone.
    • Trade for Darius Slay with the Lions: Rumor has it that the Detroit Lions are shopping around their three time Pro Bowl cornerback to interested teams. The Texans might not have the pieces to give the Lions what they're asking from him, but it's definitely worth a look considering it can be an underrated move from the thin cornerback free agent group.
    • Get in the mix to land Melvin Gordon: It's almost unspoken certainty that running back Melvin Gordon isn't going to be staying with the Chargers after holding out nearly half the season in hopes of a new contract. There's going to be other teams in the mix for him as well like the Redskins, Buccaneers and possibly Dolphins. The Texans may not be the best suitor for him, but Gordon's power running style combined with his ability to shed tackles has proven him a talented player suitable for many teams. If Gordon ends up being swooned by Houston; they're going to have to open the checkbook.
    Indianapolis Colts
    • Decide on the QB: The Colts seem as if they're going to be moving on from Jacoby Brissett and are looking into the draft for their future signal caller. It's also been rumored that longtime Charger Philip Rivers could be headed there as well. Rivers can revitalize a non-productive Colts offense with his high tempo play while a rookie prospect like Jordan Love, whom the Colts are rumored to be eyeballing can act as a long term solution.
    • Keep Anthony Castonzo: Castonzo has been one of the best offensive tackles in the league and he's one of the older ones too. He's paired up with centers Ryan Kelly and Quentin Nelson who can still buy their quarterback enough time to get it thrown downfield. This is a crucial move if Indy decides to go with a new quarterback so that the defense isn't in his face all the time.
    • Sign a star pass rusher: There's a number of them this season and Indianapolis needs some help at this position. The Colts have a lot of money to spend this offseason, so it's not farfetched to believe they could lure in someone with that dynamic play like Jadeveon Clowney. Perhaps it might serve Clowney as a bit of extra motivation to play against his former team; the rival Texans.
    Jacksonville Jaguars
    • Give Nick Foles another shot: The 4 year $88 million signed Nick Foles didn't even play a half of a Jaguars game before injuring himself to the point where he missed the majority of the season. In turn, the Jaguars turned to rookie Gardner Minshew who ended up being a surprise thrower despite the team's record. Minshew is still raw and popular with Jaguars fans as the favorite to start. However, releasing Foles does mean that there is some dead money that can't be used elsewhere that he's guaranteed. He deserves another shot.
    • Let Yannick Ngakoue walk: The biggest free agent on the Jaguars' roster this year is defensive lineman Yannick Ngakoue. He's going to be expensive wherever he goes, but the Jaguars can dip their early pick into the draft and get his replacement while still having a pick from the Rams in the first round. If they are going to keep him around, it's probably best to franchise tag him while working on a long term deal.
    • Draft a shadowing corner: The Jaguars likely had one of the biggest steals in this season's mid-trades by dealing cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Rams in exchange for their first round pick. Not bad at all. Now they can use it to draft a long rangy cornerback and use it to shadow the likes of the elite wide receivers in the AFC South.
    Tennessee Titans
    • Re-sign Ryan Tannehill to a two year contract: Tannehill's success with the Titans earned him the Comeback Player of the Year award as he started in the playoff games that toppled the heavy favorites Patriots and Ravens before the miracle run ended against the Chiefs. It would be a wise move to keep him there, although he is not the longtime solution for the team. But his play and veterancy will help keep them in playoff contention which can hopefully carry over to the new quarterback prospect. Hopefully he will keep his price down to allow the front office to keep other key players this and later offseasons.
    • Prepare for a Derrick Henry holdout: Derrick Henry was undoubtedly the workhorse of the Titans' offense. The running back led the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns while entering the final year of his rookie contract. Henry hasn't announced any plans to hold out, but could definitely have the leverage to do so with him entering the prime of his career. Given the successes of Le'Veon Bell and Ezekiel Elliott in their holdouts, it's possible Henry could do the same and force the Titans' hand into signing him to a bigger deal. Still, the front office should make contingencies ready so that his absence will not cripple the team's prowess.
    • Find a developing cornerback to replace Logan Ryan: Cornerback Logan Ryan is a free agent and close to thirty. Resigning him for cheap is an ideal option, but doubtful. Ryan had a sneaky good season and could've been in contention for Defensive Player of the Year had it not been for Patriots Stephon Gillmore. The Titans also have Malcolm Butler, who's been inconsistent and reliable only in select situations as well as developing player Adoree Jackson. If Ryan walks; it would be a wise move to pursue a cornerback through the draft and there are many potential studs that can be found in the late first round.

Now I will do the AFC East

    Buffalo Bills
    • Keep edge-rushers in house: Both defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and Shaq Lawson are set to be free agents and it would be crucial to keep them around considering other lineman Jerry Hughes had been quite a disappointment recently. While the secondary is the bigger strength of the defense, the line is what tremendously helps in that regard. Both players are definitely going to garner some attention in free agency, but a perfect world is where they both come back to upstate New York. It won't be a cheap buy, so they'll probably have to stretch the checkbook.
    • Re-sign guard Quinton Spain: Quinton Spain was one of the unsung heroes in guarding quarterback Josh Allen's blindside. On paper, he had an average season more towards the back of the rankings for starting guards in the league. However with more time spent together as a unit, the other group of free agents and draftings that Buffalo rotated on its offensive blocking can result in better cohesion and allow Allen to work his magic downfield.
    • Draft a stud WR: Buffalo's wide receivers are average at best. Both John Brown and Cole Beasley did their jobs admirably, but with a draft class rich in ridiculously talented players; it could result in remorse if they pass one of them up. Out of the names; CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy are the top prospects and it's unlikely either will fall to the Bills at 22. Looking to the other ones would be a smart move like Tee Higgins, Henry Ruggs or Laviska Shenault.
    Miami Dolphins
    • Overhaul the roster: This means that a lot of the players that disappointed are on their way out. Coach Brian Flores has taken on a mantle similar to his former boss Bill Belichick in putting the team first. Egos left behind and it's straight to the bench if you're not performing up to expectations. Older players like Reshad Jones, although beloved it's time to leave and the disappointing first round pick Charles Harris are plausible cuts. Miami has the stock ready to get new players to set up the foundation for this, but cutting a lot of dead weight will increase their salary cap even more to fit this rebuild.
    • Focus on offense when drafting: Many have linked Miami's 5th overall pick to be Alabama's quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The front office did an excellent job of landing THREE first round picks, the first of which needs to be used on the future face of the franchise. Tagovailoa's had some issues with injuries that had kept him out of contention for the undisputed first overall, but those have passed since. He has sharp intellect, a strong arm and mobility similar to Cam Newton. Tagovailoa's draftmates should also focus on pass protection and maybe a playmaking wideout.
    • Keep all first round picks: No doubt with their big haul of first round picks after dealing tackle Laremy Tunsil and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Texans and Steelers respectively; there's going to be a lot of chatter about Miami trading its first rounds to other interested teams. They should stay put and resist the offerings unless it's too enticing to ignore. Even more so, it should work in the Dolphins' favor the more desperate other teams are wanting to trade into the first round. They'll sweeten the deal.
    New England Patriots
    • Plan on Tom Brady not being the QB: Longtime six Super Bowl winning quarterback Tom Brady has left his future in New England nebulous as he enters free agency for the first time in his 20 year career. Nevertheless; it's time for the organization to begin planning for the years when he is no longer there. There's plenty of prospects, but they should instead focus on acquiring talent around the signal caller that fit head coach Bill Belichick's mold. It's entirely possible they could give a player or a pick (or both) to someone like the Redskins in exchange for their first round quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Haskins remains raw and someone who was rushed into the game, but a little bit of adjusting to his pace of football can go a long way.
    • Continue to seek out wide receivers: New England's lack of wide receiver production exposed their Achilles heel which has never fully healed after losing tight end Rob Gronkowski to retirement. Others on the field include Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu and first round pick N'Keal Harry. While Harry remains a versatile developmental player, guys like Edelman are getting older and possibly losing steam. New England needs to find players quick and could ink out a deal with a lower profile free agent that will contribute.
    • Extend Joe Thuney: Regardless whoever the quarterback is for the Patriots this season; they're going to need to be protected. Thuney's price tag is going to be a hot commodity as other teams will likely throw their hats into the ring, but keeping their All-Pro guard in New England would be detrimental to their game plan of moving forward.
    New York Jets
    • Re-sign Jamal Adams: The Jets hit a home run when they drafted safety Jamal Adams sixth overall. He's made first and second team All Pro, two consecutive Pro Bowls and continues to build a reputation for himself as one of the top safeties in the league. All those accolades deserve a hefty reward and incentive to play more in green and white. Getting a deal done quickly is going to defuse interest other teams have in him like the Cowboys last November.
    • Let Robby Anderson walk: While Jamal Adams should be a priority; the other big free agent is Robby Anderson, who is supposedly getting interest from as many as 8 different teams wanting his services. The speedy Anderson is likely headed to whoever will pay him the most coming off a very promising season and in his prime at the age of 26. The Jets need more weapons for quarterback Sam Darnold, but Anderson's price rising and the appeal of the many young wideouts who look incredibly skilled might mean this is the end of Anderson's tenure in New York. Regrettable, but a necessary move to hold onto the limited cap space they currently have. Let someone like the New Orleans Saints or Las Vegas Raiders overpay for him.
    • Bulk up offensive line: The Jets are going to need offensive line help again. Sam Darnold was constantly under pressure and yielded some of the most sacks in the league. If they are committed to him as their quarterback, he's going to need to have that blocking protection in order to make plays. Darnold is capable of scrambling, but can't do it on a regular basis like Lamar Jackson or Russell Wilson. The Jets have a high pick in the draft at 11. There will be plenty of offensive linemen available since many of the earlier picks will be focused on quarterbacks, linebackers and edge rushers. Andrew Thomas out of Georgia, Mehki Becton from Louisville and Tristian Wirfs from Iowa are all excellent plug & play tackles.

It's time to do the AFC West!

    Denver Broncos
    • Re-sign Justin Simmons: The Broncos have quite a bit of cap space this offseason and one of their biggest priorities should be to re-sign safety Justin Simmons. Simmons is only 26 with plenty of caliber years ahead of him. There's already other teams with interest in his services, it's probably best Denver locks him up quick before other teams lure him away.
    • Be ready for several defensive starters to leave: Simmons isn't the only defensive Bronco to be possibly leaving and there's no way they can keep them all without neglecting offense. Defensive linemen Shelby Harris and Derek Wolfe might go elsewhere and cornerback Chris Harris is a likely trade after the Broncos themselves traded for AJ Bouye from the Jaguars. They will need either the others to step up, or look into free agency to replenish their depleted base.
    • Restructure offensive line: With the team committed to giving second round quarterback Drew Lock another shot at taking the helm, the Broncos will need to continue building up the offense around Lock and that means keeping him protected. Many of the linemen are likely to be getting cut or traded with the maybe exception of Garrett Bolles who is slowly becoming the first round pick GM John Elway wanted him to be. The best option and start would be to get the best tackle in the draft despite the temptation of getting a playmaking wide receiver.
    Kansas City Chiefs
    • Get a deal done with Chris Jones: The Chiefs' top priority should be to keep their best free agent in Kansas City. Defensive lineman Chris Jones has earned himself a big payday and it would be a sorely missed opportunity for the Chiefs to let him walk. GM Brett Veach has already confirmed the team will franchise tag him, however both sides remain optimistic that a deal will be done in the near future. This is definitely good news, given that Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is about to sign an extremely lucrative contract, so with this out of the way, Veach can get a better estimate at what Mahomes can get.
    • Sign a corner in free agency and draft one: The Chiefs do have a decent amount of cap space, but they're likely to be saving it for Mahomes' super sized deal. Don't expect them to be all quiet either as their defense is still something to be improved and they will most certainly dip into the offensive side to keep it among the league's most explosive. All three of the Chiefs' starting corners; Brashaud Breeland, Kendall Fuller and Morris Claiborne are set to be free agents leaving them with an unproven squad aside from Charvarius Ward. Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu is already hard at work trying to recruit impending free agent Chris Harris, so it's likely they will sign and then draft one with the final pick in the draft's first round.
    • Find a backup quarterback: Both of the Chiefs' veteran quarterbacks; Chad Henne and Matt Moore are also upcoming free agents. They do have prospect Kyle Shurmur, but the team has generally relied on veteran players to be the next man up. While Mahomes is their best player, he has suffered injuries that have kept him out of games, so it's probable they will find someone who can take over to avoid crippling the team's capabilities in his absence. Could we see someone like Marcus Mariota donning red and white?
    Las Vegas Raiders
    • Draft a linebacker first round: The Raiders need all sorts of things, but the first big step is to improve the defensive side of the ball. The middle linebacker is one of the most important positions in defense and the Raiders simply have yet to find an answer. As the other positions develop such as defensive backs Trayvon Mullen, Jonathan Abram and edge rushers Clelin Ferrell, Maxx Crosby, getting a central conductor to direct all those pieces can exploit their potential tenfold. The top prospects are Alabama's Kenneth Murray or LSU's Patrick Queen, both of which can be excellent fits in Jon Gruden's hard-hitting defense.
    • Target Geronimo Allison: Despite the Packers' need for wide receivers. They don't seem to have an overly huge interest in keeping around their number two Geronimo Allison. This could be a prime target for the Raiders given Allison's young age, quick hands and incredible elusive movement. It might take a bit more money, but a three or four year deal will help take pressure off fellow wideout Tyrell Williams and tight end Darren Waller. With the three of them under contract until at least 2023, it can make for a strong core playmaking tandem with a lot of underrated potential.
    • Keep Derek Carr and draft another quarterback: While the Raiders seem to be in the mix of teams who are pursuing Tom Brady, this is not a landing spot anticipated yet well thought out. That being said, Derek Carr will still be the prime signal caller for the Raiders in the 2020 season and it's a do or die one for him to seal his fate. Either way, Las Vegas must look to the future with Carr's contract set through 2022. This is definitely a good draft for another quarterback and there's always gems to be found in the second and third rounds.
    Los Angeles Chargers
    • Draft a quarterback first round: This one almost goes without saying. With the departure of longtime quarterback Philip Rivers (who never missed a game since 2006) the Chargers are having to find his replacement rather quickly. Luckily for them; this is a very good draft to get the new face of the franchise on the first pick straightaway. The Chargers hold pick number 6, which could see multiple quarterbacks gone by the time it falls to them. Their front office needs to consider all to be candidates and prepare to build the offense around him. The offensive line will need some rework, part of which was addressed with the recent trade for Trai Turner from the Panthers.
    • Prepare for a backfield without Melvin Gordon: The holdout done by Melvin Gordon in the early half of the season basically burned any bridges and hopes that he would return to the Bolts. Gordon did say he was expected to be back in a Chargers uniform in 2020, but much of that is up for interpretation given the surprise emergence of another impending free agent back Austin Ekeler. Ekeler would likely eat less money than Gordon who would likely depart for a team more willing to pay the kind of money he was asking for during his holdout. Could someone like the Buccaneers, Redskins or Eagles be a possible suitor for his services?
    • Sign Joey Bosa to a big deal: Los Angeles' big bad pass rusher has already proven himself to be one of the premier top edge defenders in this entire league. Paired with Melvin Ingram on the other side; signing Bosa will allow the duo to continue harassing quarterbacks for at least three more seasons. Bosa's likely going to demand a lot of money and a couple of injures have caused him to miss a portion of playing time, but his upside is too good to ignore. We could see a signing of Bosa for five years and somewhere around $20-$22 million a year.
