I've got a Poison monotype that's raring to be used (although they're not all fancy and IV/Nature bred; they are EV-trained) and a Rock/Fossil mono on the way, so I'm itching to battle! I can battle 3v3 or 6v6 though I prefer the former (unless we battle via Showdown).

Send me your FC and I'll get in touch!

I have never done monotype before but I've wanted to for a while. I've made a team on showdown which I've never used before but want to try.
    My showdown name is rebornfx.

@[member="Reborn"] I'm sorry, I must've missed you. My Showdown name is Soujouki too, so feel free to challenge me whenever. I'll probably be on for the rest of the day just idling around if not battling.

GG man :) You have a pretty nicely rounded team with nice coverage. I kind of expected that sort of strategy when I saw you set up the toxic spikes so wanted to get rid of those things right away :P

I feel like Venoshock is a really underappreciated move. 130+ power with poison on a special sweeper is a nightmare.

The Toxic Spikes are what runs that team but I've got countermeasures in case I get some fliers/levitaters.

True, but it's underused for the same reason hex is underused and that's the fact that the Pokémon needs to be poisoned. If the toxic spikes get removed then you must manually set up poison which requires more than 1 turn. You'll be doing a lot more damage doing 2 sludge bombs/waves than 1 poison boosted venoshock. If I were to suggest any alterations to make it more viable it would be to switch one of the Pokémon with a drapion to also set up toxic spikes, whilst also being able to roar the opponents around, spreading the poison around whilst also preventing someone from taking advantage of your setup turns and setting up themselves.

Eh, the point of the team was to take advantage of Venoshock rather than relying on the big-name Poison moves.

Although Drapion is one of the only Poison-types I haven't trained and tested on this team, mainly because its Sp. Attack wasn't great and thus it'd be a bad idea to teach it Venoshock (since I wanted every Pokémon on the team to be able to learn/effectively utilize it). I should give it a go with Fire Fang and replace Skuntank with it. Although I'd definitely miss that nice little Aftermath sting.

That thing didn't have aftermath, I was looking out for it and it never happened lmao.
And I'd suggest having some Pokémon with particularly high special attack using venoshock whilst having physical attackers use physical moves to KO special walls. You also will want something scarfed/something with priority to revenge kill.

My toxicroak has Sucker Punch, although it's currently holding a Razor Fang (because that's what it's holding in my game). For some reason Scarfing/Specing/Banding always eludes me when I go to item up. xD I guess I really don't have a competitive mindset. Also my physical attackers are Toxicroak and Skuntank right now; they're IV'd in both Attack and Sp. Attack. I was going to give Nidoqueen Earthquake, but Earth Power seems to work better since I primarily use it against those high-defense Steel-types.

Also are you sure Methane didn't have Aftermath? ._. I could've sworn that's what I gave it.

I definitely didn't take aftermath damage, I don't know why if you had it on.

And you generally want a Pokémon to specialise in either physical or special attack, unless you ar trying to surprise someone with a mixed set.

Well, yeah. Toxicroak and Skuntank both have a mixed set. The former has Venoshock, Sucker Punch, and Brick Break, and the latter has Venoshock, Night Slash, and Flamethrower. Everyone else has a specialization in Sp. Attack and some other non-offensive stat. I think for my Showdown build they all have Sp. Attack and Speed EVs. In my game I believe my Tentacruel has Sp. Def EVs and my Nidoqueen needs to be retrained so I'll probably give her Speed EVs too.

...Also I meant EVs in that previous post. I always get those backwards.
