I don't know about you guys, but I loved the feature in the B2W2 games which you could make it either more challenging or easy. Personally, I adored this feature and would love it if it returned. While it didn't seem TOO much harder, it was a fantastic way to increase the difficulty of the game, especially for Nuzlockes. I was honestly very surprised that X/Y removed this feature. It depressed me.

I'd personally love to see this feature return. Increase the Levels, the AI, high IV and EV trained Pokémon, and give each trainer a strategy with their teams. Give me and my Pokémon a challenge. I'd like to see more marks in my lost column from the NPCs in my playthrough (Except May. Screw her). That's what I'd like to see, anyway.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see the return of Challenge Mode?

I enjoyed Challenge Mode as well. It kind of offered more to the experience of the game play and motivated you to simply do more in order to win battles. Usually with most Pokémon games, all it took was a little grinding and you'd be able to sweep teams flawlessly. With challenge mode however, you'd have to grind, but you'd also have to strategically build your team so that they wouldn't be crushed by the elite four. With Challenge Mode, Nuzlockes were more fun as well. You really had to train your team to the full extent and form bonds with your Pokémon, making the experience overall more memorable. Hopefully this option returns in the next Pokémon Game!

I did enjoy getting to use B2W2's Challenge Mode (even though I have multiple copies of both games, which is why I can get it whenever I want to), even if it did little more than raise levels and give new Pokémon to important fights. But sometimes, I get the vibe that the opponent's stats were dumbed down and that their IVs aren't even proper.

Even at that, it was still nice battling the Elite Four, because it was interesting when they came across with competitive style items (looking at you, Choice Scarf Chandelure).

I agree. I wish their IVs and EVs were a bit more competitive. Obviously not everyone can battle competitive, but that's what Challenge Mode is for.

I definitely think it should! Especially for those who already know their way around a Pokémon game, having a challenge mode would bring more well, challenge to the "kid's" game. Honestly, after a while, we all have to set up our own challenges for the games with things like nuzlockes, so I think it would be fun to have a challenge mode!

I loved Challenge Mode in B2W2. I thought it was a clever addition to the main story, making things a lot tougher than they've been in the past--this made the games seem more realistic. If you're truly in a struggle, you need more strategy and planning than the amount required for most of the main series games.

Gah yesyesyes! Normally I prefer easy games since I'm an awful gamer but as someone who has played Pokémon for over 15 years now, it would be wonderful to provide players like myself with a tad more of a challenge. Would love it if challenge mode didn't just increase enemy Pokémon levels but also possibly decreased your damage output and lowered catch rates to make things more difficult across the board. Why not go all the way for a challenge, right? <3

Lately (and by that I mean since Sapphire Version, so like what, 12 years?) I've felt Pokémon was too darn easy. The only actual challenge I've faced since then was Steven in Alpha Sapphire. So yes, I would love to have a returned Challenge Mode (and better yet, one that doesn't have to be unlocked).

There is one exception to me thinking Pokémon is too easy. Romhacks. Especially SacredGold/StormSilver. Even Falkner had me grinding and planning for days to beat him. For reference:

Official HGSS: Falkner has Lv9 Pidgey and Lv13 Pidgeotto.

Romhacked SGSS: Lv12 Doduo, Lv12 Farfetch'd (with upgraded stats in this hack), Lv12 Chatot, Lv14 Swablu (with Solar Beam and Power Herb), Lv14 Murkrow, LV15 Pidgeotto.

First Gym! That, ladies and gentlemen, is Challenge Mode. Difficult, thrilling, unexpected. Challenging.

As some others have said, the games now feel too easy. I believe Nintendo's said something about making games easier because people don't have as much time to play (kind of disagree but...), so something like adding a challenge mode to games would really make it more fun for those of us who want a challenge outside of the Hax Maison.

Honestly, the games have ALWAYS been easy, people have just gotten better at playing. Still, I would like to have a harder game to play. I like challenge.

I'd definitely like to see it return in the future- I feel like it should be an option from the start, and it would give more experienced players such as myself a new twist to the games. I loved playing with Challenge Mode in BW2, even if it was simple, so I would really like to see it expanded upon in future games.

As I've grown older and more experienced, I'd love this to return! I never used it in BW2, but I'd love a chance to use it and give myself more of a challenge in Pokémon games.

I'd love to see it again! I didn't use it much in BW2 as I should've, but It was fun when I did play it.

Sure, I mean why not? Nobody forces you to play it, it's just an extra option! I'd definitely use it sometimes if it returns :D
