Chances of a New Kid Icarus Game?

    The Kid Icarus series is a first party Nintendo game that debuted in 1987 in Europe. It's second game, Of Myths and Monsters, was released only in America in 1991, and then the series never saw a game until 2012, when Kid Icarus: uprising was released. It was a stunning game with amazing characters, a need-to-see plot and Dark Pit. Despite some control issues, the game received an almost perfect score. That is why, when it was said that there would be no sequel, many player's hearts were crushed.

    However, evidence in Super Smash Brothers hints a new sequel,
    with Dark Pit supposedly joining Viridi's army.


    Another fact to consider is that development for Super Smash Brothers, directed by Masahiro Sakurai - director of Kid Icarus: Uprising - has finished! Seeing the voice actor of Pit active (like in Bayonetta's trailer) also hints a new game in the works.

    And while Nintendo Direct is back on track, and a promising E3 next year, what do you think? Is a new Kid Icarus game in the works?

    I understand that Nintendo are trying to leave KIU on a high,but another game could be amazing. However, I don't think it'll work. Nintendo don't make finite decisions then just to break them. Its a shame though.

    I could definitely see them making another Kid Icarus game but at the same time I don't know how likely it is. I don't have a specific reason I just feel that it isn't super likely but I'd be happy if I was wrong.

    I would love to see another Kid Icarus game, but I heard that this game was supposed to be a standalone, so that stinks. However, I feel like NIntendo knows or should know that another Kid Icarus game with more physical copies will sell really well, and they might even do a Kid Icarus game for the WiiU.
