I have this Sonic OC. Her name is Amelia. She's a wolf who has wind powers and is basically one with nature. She acts tough but is actually very frail on the inside. Only problem is is that I can't think up a good backstory. Maybe you guys can help me. I only ask for you to be creative. Thanks in advance.

This is what she looks like, by the way.

I'm not very learned in the lore of Sonic, what with me having played a grand total of zero Sonic games, but I'll give it a shot.

This wolf was the offspring of (some wolf character) and a wind spirit. Such a partnership was forbidden and so the child was hunted for years, yet (her wolf parent) fled with her, aided by the wind spirit who would keep the wind on their backs while hindering their pursuers. They found safe haven eventually, either living happily ever until whatever events area afoot now, or maybe (parent) was killed and now lives with the wind spirit or was captured or something.

Take that for what you will, I just threw ideas together.

I have a personal thing against overcomplicated backstories. When I make a backstory, I try to keep it as simple as possible unless the backstory has lasting impacts later in the story.

For example, you may say that this character led a completely normal life for a long while. She found that she enjoyed the natural world and all of its wonders, and that she always felt at ease in the forest with a cool breeze at her back. One day she finds that there is, in fact, a very good reason as to why she feels at peace in nature, as she realizes that she has control of the wind and earth.

While sometimes a dramatic or complex backstory can be good, I tend to stick to simplicity. Too many writers try to make all of their characters have some sort of ridiculously overcomplicated and tragic backstory, which only makes their character feel fake and unrealistic.
