Characters and Their Fears/Phobias

    More particularly to those who have Original Characters/stories (RPs/fics/etc)

    Seeing that this is the Halloween season, time to get a little spooky.

    Are there any fears/phobias your characters have? ((I mean aside from the more common day-to-day things like failure, rejection etc)) They can be something as simple as fear of spiders to something as deadly as fear of water--

    Do you use it as a character's hindrance? Or do you use it as a plot point for their development/recovery?

    One of my characters has a fear of lightning and the other is super afraid of needles.

    My Bleach OC is afraid of snails/slugs. Hollows that look like that creep her the freak out.

    Beetle is afraid of being around people I guess? She’s a cryptid monster and they don’t take too we’ll go seeing her. So she hides away a lot.

    Those seem like good examples.

    Two of my characters have crippling fears of seemingly trivial objects.

    One of them is afraid of dogs, or canines in general.

    The other is afraid of the sound of clocks, after an unpleasant event in her life involving them.

    My character is somewhat afraid of dirt and messy things, as she has a bit of OCD. She also fears loud and overly energetic people.

    I have one character who is scared of, well, rabbits of all things. She had a bad experience with them as a child, and although she knows they can't hurt her, she still can't shake her fear of them.

    I love learning about character's fears and phobias.
    I have a character who's afraid of silence so he is constantly playing music, tapping his hand/pencil on things or tapping his foot. They also have a phobia of being trapped under water. He also has the hatred of being unclean but I don't think it's a fear.
    I also have a character who has a bit of a complex about the idea of being forgotten. She goes out her way to try and leave her mark so she wont be forgotten. Even if people pretend to have forgotten what she's said she'll get super stressed out. She's also not fond of spiders.

    I have a character who's pretty much afraid of most things haha. His main ones are vampires or other creatures that feed on huminoids because of where he was brought up, being yelled at, making mistakes and/or upsetting others.
