Christmas Music

I love Christmas music, but I hate the oldey-sounding classics when they are overplayed. They are good every once in a while, but I want something newer and fesher. Josh Groban makes a ton of fantastic Christmas songs that I love listening to.

If I had to pick a favorite old timey Christmas song, it would be the twelve days of Christmas. I know the entire thing by heart.

Like you, @[member="Gengar's Grin"], I also love the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas music. The Mannheim Steamroller also has some great Christmas music that is very similar to that, if you want to check them out.

 

I am getting really tired of Christmas Music. I always have my radio off this time every year just to avoid all of the stupid Christmas songs out there. I'm not saying that there are only stupid songs, but a huge chunk of them certainly are stupid.

 

Most Christmas songs, I don't like. Canon in D is one of the few I do enjoy though.

Actually, in recent years, I've taken to Touhou remixes. Yes, there are Christmas-themed arrangements on Touhou soundtracks.

Well, the only time I hear Christmas songs is at the shopping mall because I don't listen to the radio, but I don't really pay much attention to them, haha.

I don't really know many modern Christmas songs, and I forgot the name of my favorite classic Christmas song

I guess I'm not too big on Christmas music, but it is nice to listen to at this certain time of the year.

 

I sing Christmas songs year round, but this is the time of the year where I won't be judged.
Most of the songs I love are songs like Last Christmas, All I want for Christmas, Jingle Bell Rock, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Silent Night, and loads more.

I absolutely love Christmas music! It is always so uplifting and cheerful to listen to, and is an overall good source of positive thinking. For my favorite Christmas song, it would have to be All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey.

In addition to that, a lot of other Christmas songs tend to be peaceful and soothing to listen to, like Silent Night. Its songs like these that can help clear your thoughts and focus more about what truly matters.

There are also quite a few good family memories I share with the tune of Christmas music, so by listening or singing certain Christmas carols, I can remind myself of all the happy moments I shared with my family, even if they were short lasted.

 

I think I'll have to go with Jingle Bells being my favourite Christmas song for two reasons. One, it is a short memorable song that captures the childish Christmas spirit and two, it can be parodied easily.

I've always loved Christmas music, I can't usually listen to it on the radio anymore, because of massive commercial blocks (i mean it feels like it's 2 songs and then a 15 min. block of commercials) but with the power of Pandora, and my own fairly large collection, I don't have to worry. I love almost every Christmas song, both traditional hymns and other wise. the only one I can't stand is I saw Mommy kissing Santa, and more recently baby it's cold outside.

My favorite songs are probably Need a little Christmas now, and Christmas eve Sarevjo (by TSO) but it's not far to many other songs (christmas shoes, snoopy's Christmas etc)

 

I used to love it as a kid, but I guess as you grow older, you get more grumpy and turn into more of a bore. haha.

I'm just annoyed that about a week ago, before Thanksgiving was even done with, my go-to radio station, which normally plays a very pleasant mix of today's hits and pop from earlier decades, suddenly starts playing Christmas music 24/7. Since then, every time I tune in, it's just more Christmas music. All the time.

And then when I walk into a grocery store or mall, more Christmas music faintly playing in the background.

When I go into the electronics section at Target, there's an entire wall of TVs playing, you guessed it, Christmas music.

I still won't say I hate all Christmas music, but I just wish I could get a break. It can help me get into the holiday mood when I feel like it, but otherwise I'd definitely just rather listen to something else.

 

I don't mind X'mas music but sometimes it can grate on my nerves when I am in an unpleasant or sour mood. There is a song I'm currently obsessing over that is Christmas themed.

It is acapella~ so the voices are in harmony and there's a beat!

 

I hate most the poppy and non-traditional Christmas pieces, but the traditional/classical ones I could listen to often. (Hell, I find myself humming Carol of the Bells in summer.) They're really pretty and aren't materialistic/consumer-ish whatsoever. I also love remixes of the classical pieces; Trans-Siberian Orchestra is one of my fave groups that does this. Would love to see them perform live someday; they perform near my college around Thanksgiving, but I'm usually away by then ;-;

Recently, especially this year, I have started to listen to instrumental Christmas Music and I like that a whole lot better than all of this annoying vocal crap .

 

My favorite Christmas music is really either the classics or the instrumentals like Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. All of the vocal stuff ends up getting grating after the first half a week, especially since there's no creative Christmas songs anymore. :/

Though I do have to say that I have a soft spot for most of Josh Groban's Christmas songs. His voice is just beautiful enough that I can make an exception.

I also really like this Christmas song by Casting Crowns. It's pretty unique in it's mood and lyrics.

Typically when I listen to Christmas music, it's usually some Trans Siberian Orchestra or amazing piano solos.
However, recently I've taken a major liking to this little girl's music.
When she made her first debut on American Idol, Jackie Evancho literally took my heart with her voice.
Literally because when I imagine angels singing, I hear her voice.

She is a gift to this world and hopefully her music will be played in every household for Christmas in the future.

I'm not a big fan of Christmas music. However, there are a few that I like. I like Feliz Navidad, Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC, and you can't go wrong with Tchaikovsky!
