Group RP Cobalt Crew Chronicles: Caverns of Cold Steel

Like everyone else, Amy clasped her hand over her ears when the screech started. It caught her off guard so much that she dropped the rock she was holding with Psychic, this making her eyes stop glowing and re moving the small but of light they had with them.

"What in Terra Cave is that?!" Amy tried to shout over the noise. Though the fact that this roar occurred just as Douglas was talking about something massive in a lower part of the mine gave her a pretty good idea of what it was, but she hoped to Rayquaza she was wrong. She suddenly started having major second thoughts about taking this job.

 

Demyx was speechless at this entire situation. After the effort they put in to save him in the first place... it's just getting worse and worse. He shook his head though after realizing that Boreas collapsed. "No!" He jumped up, grabbing the lantern he kept inside the cave and went over to check on him.

He sighed in relief after his quick inspection. While he's no medic or healer by any means, he knows overexertion when he sees it considering he's overworked himself during training before "...he'll be ok for now. He's definitely very worn out, though."

He looked at the caved-in entrance in front of him. Sealed tight, and he didn't know how much strength he could muster to open it back up. "Better hope we dont run into him..." he said aloud, though he meant that for Puck's sake, as he's finding it much harder to be understanding or forgiving to him...

He remembered that he put his map of the tunnels in his bag, and dug it out. "Not much use standing around here, eh?" he said, setting the lantern next to him as he opens up the map. "If I recall right... there's just one way forward... through M15. Where the other group went through, if I recall correctly."

 

Unsettled by the Zoroark's treachery, Bluegrass turned to the other Pokémon, including Angharad, who looked ready to explode. Wrapping one vine around her arm as a form of comfort the grass-type looked around for a possible way out, which proved futile.
"He'll be ok for now. He's definitely very worn out, though," he heard Demyx say, before adding something about trying to meet up the other group.
"Aye milord; but we should keep finding an exit top priority; considering we haven't been able to bring much food or water with us," the Ivysaur declared, grimacing at the sealed entrance.

 

Coughing and gasping for air, Riley scrambled to get back on her feet. "Th-... there's-" She tried to speak, but she couldn't quite get the words out yet. After taking a moment to catch her breath, she continued. "There's something down there. I could only sense it for about a second, but... it's massive. I've never seen anything like it." Without a doubt, this was the creature they were talking about earlier. She could clearly see why nobody went down there anymore.

 

Amy was probably startled the most out of everyone, since it was her name Royce was yelling. Was it even Royce though? His accent was completely gone and his eye was blue.

She then remembered the voice she heard earlier. 'No...' she though to herself. 'There is no way that's possible. As far as I know, he's still in Hoenn. But what if Kyurem's ice is capable of more than just-'

Her thoughts were interrupted by the Rolycoly completely tackling her to the ground, knocking the wind out of her. She hit her heard hard and was having trouble focusing enough to lift him off of her with Psychic.

 

Amy stumbled along, still dazed from hitting the ground. Everything was moving too fast for her in this state; she couldn't fully comprehend what was happening. Royce took off down the cave again, and something big was behind them. She didn't want to look at it though out of fear.

She glanced over at Douglass supporting her. He was looking straight ahead, determined to get out of this situation. She couldn't help but feel like a burden to the group right now. She could barely walk on her own, and the Timburr helping her would be able to run much more easily. She quietly admired hair strength as he continued running with both her and his plank in his arms.

She could barely think either. She just had a few light thoughts roaming around in her head. Mainly questions about what happened to Royce.

 

"Wow. What are the odds of them coming right for us?" Demyx said as he saw the Rolycoly... 'Run' towards them.

He picked up the lantern and stood up to give the area a bit more light. "Hopefully the rest of the group is right behind them." He said aloud. As he stood up, the gash across his chest began to have that burning sensation again. "...grk... And maybe someone who can heal this wound, heh..."

Demyx saw that there was something off about the approaching Rolycoly, though he couldn't quite but his finger on it. "Uh... Are you ok?" He asked. No response as he continued charging. He places his hand on his remaining scalchop as a precaution. "Hey, Ang...angharris... does he look all right to you...?"

 

Angharad looked onto her friend, happy that she can see her friend again. But, she saw his eyes. They weren't eyes. "Yer getting closer with my name, Demyx, but Royce's eyes aren't normal. They aren't his eyes. Be careful." She said, slowly moving her right hand to the hilt of her sword on her back. "If push comes to shove, if I say move, you move. I might have to do something stupid. He's a coal cart, so I need you to make sure that Boreas and Bluegrass are protected, and have your Water Gun ready." She slowly pulled out her sword, the metal ringing as she pulled it out, and it's shine bouncing the light of her flame and the lanturn illuminating the cavern. "You want to know why Fire Pokémon like me aren't allow in mines, especially coal mines?" She twirled her sword, shifting her stance to a more ready position, a more defensive stance for swordplay. Her memories, and muscle memory, ran through her mind, her learning the sword to understand the weight of the sword, physically and mentally. What she can do, and the weight of using a sword. She tightened her grip, ready to defend the group. "Coal burns."

 

It took a few moments but Demyx understood what the Charmeleon meant, and lightly chucked. "Guess I'm not the only who's 'gone mad'." He joked as he went into his own defensive stance. "I dont have a water gun, but trust me, I know how to..." he pauses as he gets his Aqua Jet technique ready. "...make a splash."

 

"I'll keep Boreas safe, and do stop with your puns, please," Bluegrass muttered, sighing as he used his vines to help bring Beartic to a safer location. Looking back at the two others, the Ivysaur cringed as he imagined what was going to happen. "Be careful you two, if any of you get knocked out this will be an even harder journey..."

 

"No way..." Bluegrass muttered, looking at the possessed Rolycoly with a shocked expression; however it quickly changed to one bittersweet. "Bluerock... you were here this entire time..." the Ivysaur said, tears forming in his eyes. Taking a step forward, the grass-type extended his vines towards his deceased partner's host, although hesitant after seeing the Pokémon's expression.

 

Ciara looked at the possessed Rolycoly. The corvid watched as it spoke to Bluegrass, assuming the possessor was a fallen comrade of his. She was positive it was hostile, or would become so sooner or later. Ciara honed her claws silently behind the group.

 

Angharad's gaze narrowed. "Oi, just you shut it." Gripping her sword. "You are just an angry specter, a twisted version of Bluerock. The Bluerock I knew and so did Bluegrass was never like that. He told them to run. You are not real, and I can tell. I can say that I believe you're a Poltergeist. I know what they pulled out of Cavern 17, and I know it's not pretty. I overheard some of the older miners, saying that the frozen bodies of their fallen miners look exactly like the bodies of the fallen at Lacunosa. Only difference is, that my Da isn't an angry specter. He's with me in spirit. I believe that he's protecting me from your delusions." She pointed her sword at her possessed friend, her eyes glimmering in anger, "Let Royce go, and may Lady Giratina have mercy on your soul."

 

So that's what happened... He started thinking to himself. These mountains... they're all kinds of messed up... he looked in Bluegrass's direction. "I'm... sorry about your friend, Bluegrass."

He glared back at the possessed Royce. "I'm sure this isn't him, though. No friend would mean what this... thing just said." Based on what Angharad said as well, it seems to confirm this is the case, as he puts his full attention on the two poltergeists in front of him.

"If you want us to go down there so bad, no worries, I was still going to head down there anyways." He stated boldly, though he sets the lantern down and clutches his wound with one of his hands. "We're going to need our friend back, so let go of him." With his other hand, a watery blade forms around the scalchop, but dark energy begins to surround the blade.
