All anime have different art styles, some slightly different, others vastly different. One of the aspects that can vary greatly is the use of color. Do you tend to like brightly colored shows, or do you prefer to watch shows with a more natural color scheme used, or perhaps just something really dark-colored? Why? How do you feel your choice reflects on the kind of anime you watch?
*You're welcome for replying!* Ah, that's a tough one! Pokémon Anime is really bright and colourful, and that makes me feel nostalgic. The colour scheme vastly reminds me of my childhood, and watching anime with this style really uplifts me! Spoiler And then there is a more naturally coloured colour scheme, like in the recently released movie 'Your Name' which I plan to watch soon! The natural colours make me feel inspired to draw new artworks, and I always love to be inspired! The natural tones have a very beautiful essence to it and it makes me feel relaxed! Spoiler
I prefer the look of shows that have the slightly muted colors of hand-painted cels over the very vibrant HD digital ink stuff. The best I can describe the reasoning is that I get a feeling of greater care and character from this, though to be honest this opinion also comes out of nostalgia. The influence this has is it leads me to liking older installments of shows over newer ones, in general. There are probably brand new animes out there that still use slightly muted colors regardless of methods but I mostly associate it with dear old things.
I enjoy the brighter colored shows, they capture my attention more. They usually convey a great amount of personality to the characters, so do other colors but I find the brighter ones convey more than others. Though I find myself enjoying the shows that use multiple color schemes, they shift with emotion, I found it used a bit in Angel Beats when a scene was somber it became a bit duller and when it was action, excitement, movement, it was brighter.
