Most of today's top hits usually have some kind of deep meaning behind it. Whether it's about a tragedy, a message to the world, a love concession, or even just living the good life. And then there's those artist who take those messafes, and make a mockery of them. Comedic bands, artist, and musical performers are a nice relief from the usual messages. Whether they take those same messages and use them in a more light hearted way, or their own message and go from there. Which comedic musician do you love? How often do you listen to them? What's your favorite comedic song?
I have a favourite comedy song that's not really my favourite comedy song at the same time. It's a Dutch song sung by a comedian named Yoep van 't Hek. The song revolves around a young kid with a rabbit named Flappie. The time is Christmas, 1961. On Christmas morning, the kid goes to check up on his pet rabbit, but its rabbit hutch was empty. Their mum didn't know where the rabbit had disappeared to and their dad couldn't go help look because he was busy in the garage. Then, that evening at Christmas dinner, Father entered the room with a big silver plate with... rabbit on it! He said: "Look kid, here's Flappie!" At this, the kid storms off while screaming at his parents. "He was mine!" Next morning, the kid has locked up their father in the garage, telling their mother "You can't come in, he's busy in the garage". It's a funny song when you combine the lyrics with the melody, but the song itself is kinda sad. I first heard this song when I was about four years old. I have a stuffed rabbit named Flappie myself and when I first heard the song, I couldn't help but cry because I didn't want anything similar to happen to Flappie (even though we don't eat stuffed animals, lol). I'm pretty sure all other Dutch Valorians know the song, but in case you want to know what it sounds like, here's the song: Other than that, it's not explicitly comical songs I listen to, I listen to songs I think sound good.
I know their sense of comedy is frowned upon, for the most part. But I genuinely think Insane clown posse, as juvenile as their lyricism is... Funny as hell to me. Never put a step wrong these guys. This song for example damn.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_MhUPT4qD0
Does NSP count? Because I immediately think of good ol' Danny Sexbang when I think of comedic songs (that are still ridiculously high quality) https://youtu.be/bC3jD_l6q48
