Any artist knows of it. Aspiring artists dream of it. Commission pricing. The act of pricing our art for what we believe it's worth, be it how big the piece is, how long it took us, or how much effort was put into it. So, as a fellow artist, let me ask you all--who may or may not be accustomed to pricing in this field. How do you go about pricing it? Any questions for me? What do you consider "too much" or "too little"?

I would totally pay big money for you making art for my fanfic, Shiro-senpai, if I had access to my bank account and was allowed to spend money on the internet O_O
I don't really call myself an artist, but I don't mind doing things for others. Because I do art to relax and the things I do aren't that good or take much time, I do it for free.
If I really get started on something big, I always charge a little bit of the currency on that website (no real money, I don't think that's worth it). In DA points, that would be about 5 points, while I think I would charge about 100 Pokedollars here for something big.

Woah woah woah, only 5 points on DA?
I hope you realize that's worth about 0.5 cents, right?
Honey, no artist, even if it's less experienced ones should EVER even consider underpricing their art so hard ;w; I suggest you increase it to the hundreds, and if you're still not confident and/or unsure, at LEAST a hundred, okay? ;w; Please don't undervalue your own work like that, nobody deserves so little for their stuff uwu

I myself feel like I'm sorta new in the pricing market. I mean, not litterally new to it, but I feel inexperienced still, although I feel like I have a general idea. I know what to do and what not to do, methinks.
As for now, I'm myself charging 5$ / 400 DApoints for simple chibis like these ones:

And I think that's a fair price for now, seeing as these take me no time at all to make and are pretty simple + I sorta don't have the fanbase to rely on steady commissioners, so I'm adjusting it to that as well...

But eh, people are different and have different opinions about how things should be priced, and I'm no guru about this so I could be completely wrong for all I know *shrug*

I say go for minimum wage. Determine how long it typically takes you to do certain things and charge by the hour.

Interesting takes on this, and I really agree with @Szalia's input on selling based on what you believe is fair. NEVER underprice yourself, and if someone disagrees with the prices you evaluated for yourself by saying its too expensive, then don't change it to fit their needs! You price how YOU believe you need it. Just steo back and take a look at your skill... the time...and the effort you put into each piece depending on how you categorize it (full body, chibi, etc) then decide from there.
Typically, I value my chibis at 9$, fullbodies at 12-15$ and anything +2-3$ if a background is desired
