Another side to the gaming world is competitive gaming, in tournaments, online and IRL. Have you ever participated/been to one?

I love being in online SSB tournaments! It's always fun to battle it out with new people. I've also been to an IRL Mario Kart 8 tournament. I got second place in all my matches, but I sadly didn't advance past the first round. IRL tournaments are super fun, because you find people who have shared interests and you can have fun spectating and discussing things.

I sometimes think that competitive gaming takes away from the real fun in a game. Casually playing is definitely something I prefer to competitive even though I do take part in competitive.

In terms of events/organized tournaments in real life, the only one I really do is VGC for Pokémon.

I'll do online tournaments every once in a while too, like for SSB, misc. Pokémon (both VGC and non-VGC), Mario Kart, and other games that have online multiplayer that I own.

I do Competitive Battling in Pokémon, and I used to be a competitive Smash player. I never compete to win, I just compete because it's fun to play with tons of people. It's a great way to make new friends and enjoy your favorite games.

I guess Pokémon Competitive would be my only one, really. I've tried Smash but the competitive players are way too good for me, and they aren't always too nice, like most competitive communities.

I've been a part of a competitive gaming tournament once! I lost in the last round, badly.
I love the concept, and if you love the game, and don't do it for the prize, you're good to go! If I'm new to the game, it takes me a bit of time to adjust, but expect a great player in the end of it!
