If you like making characters, then surely you know the detail that can be put into creating a character's outfit. What do you seem to design outfits after? Is there a reoccuring theme in every outfit you draw? Do you base them off real fashion or some other route? How do you design outfits?

Meh, I mostly choose my outfits randomly. I didn't even think about fashion that much. ^^; But when it comes to making outfits for my characters, I mostly have them wearing a short or sleeveless shirt and either a skirt, or long pants and sometimes long dresses for females and long sleeve shirts and long pants for males. ewe'

Usually I see shirts and stuff at stores, go, "Ooooh, I like that" and I'll remember them to draw characters with them on haha. A lot of them wear sweatshirts. Sweatshirts are comfortable. *w*

I normally design clothes based off historical pieces, depends on what story I am making. I just refer a lot. I prefer designing fantasy themed outfits as opposed to modern day outfits. Though I should work on the latter too.

As for clothing in general, I sometimes refer to real fashion at times, albeit rarely. Also, most of my characters have a rather modest set of clothing (Mostly covered like long sleeves and pants, or long skirts, etc), maybe that is just me.

But of course, depending on the character's background, I try to design appropriate clothes for them (You can't possibly have someone wearing a wool coat when you live in the desert, or a short skirt when you live in a snowy city (No offense against Snowpoint City Gym Leader Candice's designs, but still...))

I like formal wear a lot, so a lot of outfits I design involve suits and dresses. Lolita fashion is super cool too, especially ouji lolita =7=
Anything fancy is appealing and I'll take elements from pictures I see and apply it. Jewellery or patterns etcetc

It really depends on the character, but I like going for simple, yet unique designs. I find really complex designs can be kind of impractical, so I like designing outfits that could actually be used as outfits if the character existed in real life. Although, really extravagant clothing is fun to draw as well, haha.

Most of my designs are pretty "princess-y" and regal. I like to give my characters long traily outfits too. I guess mine stay out or the realm of natural, since they don't make much sense and/or seem functional. Weird outfits are just more fun to work with I think!

Whenever I design outfits, it never comes out right. However, it's a lot of fun. I love making dresses. I also love to look at other outfit designs online to kind of get inspiration. For example, I have this outfit designed after Lady Gaga's origami dress.
