    Shedinja is a weird Pokémon. After getting one in Y, a thought came to me: since a Shedinja will be an exact copy of your Nincada upon evolution as far as Nature and known moves are concerned, if your Nincada is shiny, does that generate a shiny Shedinja as well, or does Shedinja have its own separate rate for being a shiny upon its..uh..appearance? I'm just curious, and if anyone has any experience with this, I'd like to know.

    As far as I know the answer is no. The reason for me saying this is that my friend's little brother had a non-shiny Nincada and when it evolved the Shedinja he got with it was shiny.

    Well shedninja's are generally one of the most strategical Pokémon out there because of the annoying wonderguard ability. But I have to admit, the only difference to the appearance as the wings and halo as of the 5th generation, but at the 6th? I haven't seen it yet as of now since I haven't played it and... I don't... Really wanna spoil myself right now. T-T

    But ya more to the point-

    As of what I can recall, once you obtain a shiny Pokémon and evolve it- you will get a shiny Pokémon as well. You can also breed a shiny with a non-shiny to get a chance of getting a shiny from the hatched egg buuuuut I don't know abut this. It has worked on Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal so I'm not sure about future generations. Correct me if I'm wrong. :o

    That's all true, I was just curious about Shedinja specifically. Your Ninjask fron evolving a shiny Nincada will always be shiny, but Shedninja is a mystery; is it even an evolution? It's sort of like a by-product. It shares the nature and known moves with Nincada, but shiny status, I'm not sure. If someone is skilled in hacking Pokémon into older games, maybe you can hack up a shiny Nincada and test this for me?

    Considering what Shiny Pokémon REALLY are, I'm not sure. I've hacked a Shiny Shedninja before, all it has is enhanced stats like every shiny Pokémon has but nothing particularly unique and odd right there. From what I could really see in the Pokémon data values, Shiny Shedninja and Shiny Nincada have a different hex value, likewise, normal Shedninja and nincada have different values as well.

    So I hacked in a level 49 shiny Nincada holding a rare candy and gave it to the Nincada, and both Ninjask and Shedinja came out as shinies. I also Nincada impossible moves, stats, and ability just for investigation purposes. The moves were kept on both Pokémon, the stats and abilities reverted to what they should be on both Pokémon, too.
    So there you go. I guess when Nincada sheds its skin, it's still shiny :)

    Excellent, that's really cool actually. Two shinies for the price of one should you find a shiny Nincada.

    Yup. Kind of how if you get a shiny Eevee you can get your favorite shiny eeveelution.

    Also, I forgot to put this on my previous post, so
    Shiny Pokémon don't have enhanced stats. They did in Generation II, because shininess was calculated based among the IVs (Along with gender, which made it so all shiny Pokémon but female-only Pokémon such as Jynx would be male.) but in future generations you could have shinies with bad stats.

    Oh I see, that's what I get for being so backlagged with the future generations. Thanks for the info.^^;
