Do you guys cosplay? Who have you cosplay as? How much money do you put down for it? Do you make your own, or buy a pre built one? How complex do you get with it? How often do you dress up? What are your favorite costumes you've been in? What are some really cool costumes you've seen? Would you mind sharing some pictures?

I cosplay for the conventions I go to. Meaning I've cosplayed once. I cosplayed as Ash Ketchum at GenCon. I plan to cosplay as Lloyd Irving this year. I've shared the photo I took in the thread for pictures already. I don't know the price of it as my dad got it for me. The hat was ordered online, the gloves were a birthday present from some friends, the jacket was sown by my dad. Not sure if it was a kit or just a pattern and fabric purchased seperately though. I'll go as complex as is necessary to make the character obvious, but i doubt I'd want to cosplay as something crazy.

I love cosplaying and going to conventions. I've made two cosplays so far, as I am new to it. My first one was a darkrai gajinka and my second was a female Link from Ocarina of Time.
I made most of my Link cosplay, including the prop Master Sword and Hylian Shelid. Overall, it took me about three to four months to make, working sporadically and cost me about $150.
I'd paste links to pictures, but my computer isn't working...

I cosplay for conventions. I haven't done many cosplays because I don't really have that much money and I'm not the best at making them myself. I've done Alois Trancy, Kurapika Kurta, Link and L Lawliet. I usually only cosplay 3-5 times a year depending on how many conventions I can go to. My favorite was Kurapika it was just fun in general even though there was quite a bit of extra accessories I needed for that cosplay. Mine are always premade and are usually $40+ depending on what I need. Usually the shoes cost a lot so that's where most of the money for them goes with shoes ranging from $20-$150 depending on how much detail they have. I do have pictures but I'd prefer not to share them.

I've never cosplayed before. Then again, I've never been to a con either. I plan to go to a con this June (I still have to plan that and stuff, but it sounds like a lot of fun), but I don't think I'm gonna go in cosplay. I guess I'm too lazy to gather the things I need and I don't feel like spending money on pre-made cosplay either. Welp.

Outside of Halloween when I was 15 and under, I don't think I've ever cosplayed or otherwise dressed up as a character. I'm generally not big enough of a fan of many things to go through the cost and effort of doing it, though if I can get a posse together, I might consider being part of the Bat-family. I don't have the body mass to be Batman himself, but I could pull off Nightwing or Red Hood. For Nightwing I would probably just need to find a friend who can sew the blue bird logo on one of my black shirts, but for Red Hood I would need a brown leather jacket and the helmet, which would each cost me quite a bit.

Anyway, as I sorta implied above, I don't plan on getting too complex or costly with my costumes. I'm not about to make steampunk props or buy a full costume or anything like that. My relatively low interest in the topic doesn't outweigh the cost and investment necessary for a high-quality costume.

Lugia and I have cosplayed once before! Apart from Halloween costumes (which we no longer wear), we cosplayed as Pit and Dark Pit last year at the EB Games Expo for our birthday. They were quite expensive, but the costumes are really comfortable and I loved them a lot. I think this year, I might wear it again or cosplay as N, and Lugia may cosplay as Link.

It'd be kind of fun to do once, but the cost scares me as well as creative talent regarding clothing required to put together a decent costume. My dress continues to be t-shirts and shorts, jeans, and sweatshirts. Me trying to put together a good costume would just not happen, and me buying a quality costume is a little too pricy for the return experience. I always was bad at halloween to start with xD

I find cosplay to be really cool. However, I've never done it myself. I have a lot of respect for people who do though. They spend so much time and effort on their cosplay and it all pays off. Most, if not all of them, look absolutely stunning and it never disappoints.
