Monthly Creatémon Challenge February 2020 What Is The Creatémon Challenge? The Creatémon (that's "Create-A-'Mon") Challenge is a new monthly event where you, the wonderful members of Lake Valor, can work on creating your own Pokémon that fits within a certain theme that changes from month to month. How To Participate Including artwork of your Pokémon idea is recommended and any art-style works, though if you feel that you lack artistic ability, then you can include a description instead (note that you are unlikely to score very well without some sort of visual accompaniment, though). In addition to this, you'll also want to add other details to go with it. The only required information that you'll need are a name and typing, but you can also add abilities, it's move-set, height, weight, egg group, stats, evolutions or pre-evoluttions, alternate forms, associated held items, or anything else you can think of. Other Rules & Regulations All submissions must follow the rules of Lake Valor. This mostly means that you shouldn't include anything offensive or NSFW. Entries can be worked on by groups. If you want to work in a group, then choose one member of your group to submit your entry, compiled into a single post and crediting everyone in your group with what exactly each of you did. This Month's Theme: Green St. Patrick's day is this month, the day where everyone's supposed to wear green to avoid being pinched for some reason. Not quite sure where that tradition came about, but it's where this month's theme is coming from. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a Pokémon with green as either it's primary or secondary color. Normally this is the part where I give a list of examples of official Pokémon fitting the theme but there are too many to mention. Prizes: 1st Place: 100 pp 2nd Place: 75 pp 3rd Place: 50 pp Consolation Prize: 10 pp All Entries Must Be Submitted By Saturday, March 28th at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time. Any posts made after that point in time will be disqualified. The voting thread will be opened shortly after that.
Spoiler: Puckah Puckah, the Trickster pokémon. Typing: Fairy/Dark Pokédex entry: This pokémon is very mischevious, and often shifts its shape to fool people and play pranks on them. It is unknown if this pokémon's most common appearance is its original form. Spoiler: Inspiration I wanted to create a pokémon with Irish or Celtic inspiration, since the theme for this month is based on St. Patrick's Day. Since I like mythology, I decided to base my pokémon off of an Irish legend or myth, and I chose the shapeshifting creature, Pooka, which often takes the forms of a horse, goat, dog, cat, or rabbit. I tried to encorporate elements from each of those animals in this pokémon's design. I was on the fence about the typing until I actually wrote out it's pokédex entry. I thought about fairy/grass, because of the green, but I realized it's mischevious nature was much better suited for a dark type. I know all this background information isn't necessary, I just thought it was interesting.
Spoiler: My submissions! (If you were wondering, the smaller pictures of Galarian Luvdisc and Clovdisc are of them with their fins fully stretched out. As you can tell, they’re supposed to resemble 3 and 4 leaf clovers.) (also side note Clovdisc is pronounced like clove disc.)
Create-a-mon 3: Cloviper and Clobra Spoiler along with it's shiny form both cloviper and Clobra have a rare lucky form. It's easiest to tell with Clobra, since it now has four leaves; Pokédex: Cloviper hides in the grass, disguising itself while it waits for prey to venture too close. It's said that if you can find a four leaf clobra you will have good luck for a year. Abilities: Chlorophyll - Boosts speed in harsh sun Flower Gift - Boosts the Attack and Sp. Def stats of itself and allies in harsh sunlight. (Hidden) Lucky Hit - Increases chance of dealing a critical hit
