    What Is The Creatémon Challenge?

    The Creatémon (that's "Create-A-'Mon") Challenge is a monthly event where you, the wonderful members of Lake Valor, can work on creating your own Pokémon that fits within a certain theme that changes from month to month.

    Rules & Regulations

    • Each entry must include a name, type and visual representation in order to account. Other details may be included but are not required.
    • Any art style can be used for the visual part of the entry.
    • All submissions must contain at least one Fakemon or alternate form created specifically for the event. Evolutions/pre-evolutions/alternate forms of official Pokémon will be accepted unless stated otherwise in the monthly them. Evolutions, etc. of pre-existing fakemon that you created may be included in an entry as long as you add at least one new form for the event, which must be specified in your post.
    • Entries may be submitted as individuals or worked on in teams. If you want to work in a group, then one member will submit the entry here, with a list of everyone who worked on it and what they did.
    • All submissions must follow the rules of Lake Valor. This means that your entry can not include any offensive or NSFW content.
    • Absolutely no plagiarism. Any participant caught plagiarizing will be disqualified.
    This Month's Theme: Angels

    From the modern depiction holy winged humanoids to the classic depictions that range everywhere from a giant ring of fire to a three-headed chimaera thing (fallen angels and angel-like beings work too), there's a lot to work from with this theme and a lot of room for some really off-the-wall designs if you choose to go that route.The only official Pokémon I can think of off the top of my head that fits this theme is the Ralts evolution line (often said to be be based off of guardian angels) and arguably Shedinja with its halo and wings.

    Prizes:

    1st Place: 100 pp
    2nd Place: 75 pp
    3rd Place: 50 pp
    Consolation Prize: 10 pp

    All Entries Must Be Submitted By Sunday, September 28th at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time. Any posts submitted or edited after that point in time will be disqualified. The voting thread will be opened shortly after that.

    Typing: Ground/Fairy
    Pokédex entry: This Pokémon loves to observe humans, mostly from a distance. Sometimes though, a Watchen may get close to humans and becomes attached.
    Evolution method: If a female Watchen has high friendship with a male trainer, or if a male Watchen has high friendship with a female trainer, it evolves into Dezel.
    Otherwise, it evolves at level 40 into Ophangel.

    Pokédex entry: This Pokémon is completely devoted to its trainer. It will throw itself into danger to protect its trainer.

    Typing: Fairy/fire
    Pokédex entry: This Pokémon is fascinated by humans, but it doesn't understand them. If a human gets too close to it, Ophangel burns them.
    And for a bonus, because I just couldn't resist.

It's not a strong Pokémon, and it can't evolve, but while it's in the party, it has a special ability that strengthens the rest of the Pokémon in the party.

    Pokédex entry: This Pokémon is created from the bond between Dezel and its trainer. Kidling often tries to act human, because it believes that it is human.

It's not a strong Pokémon, and it can't evolve, but while it's in the party, it has a special ability that strengthens the rest of the Pokémon in the party.

    Pokédex entry: This Pokémon is born of Ophangel's curiosity. It spends all its time watching humans and other Pokémon, trying to understand them.

    Abilities: Keen Eye, Flame Body, Stalwart (HA)
    These rare Pokémon are said to be messengers of Arceus that come only in times of need. Only those with the purest of hearts are able to approach one without being burned by its presence.

    Acolie seek to emulate one of the two orders of healing and helping. At level 30 it can learn both Soul Sapper (a ghost type mega drain) and Heal Pulse. While it can have both at once, only when it chooses one over the other can it evolve.
    Seraphish sense those around them and seek to heal all who need it. Some think it can even sense the life force of things alive.
    Daemollid live for themselves. Trainers may find them tricky to raise because of their tendency to avoid helping others. However if you can convince them to help you, they can be powerful allies.

    Serafeus, the Angelic Pokémon (Fairy/Flying)
    Initially dubbed "UB: Angelic", these bizarre creatures were spotted during the Ultra Beast invasion of Alola. Eyewitnesses say that these creatures always appeared in groups of 7, gave off a "flickering, flame-like" light, and appeared to be "singing" to each other. Since the rest of the Ultra Beasts disappeared, no sightings of these creatures have been reported, though the Aether Foundation claims to have captured one.
    Height/Weight: 1m (3.28ft) / 10lbs (4.54kg)
    Stats: 103/47/53/131/127/109 (570 total)
    Abilities: Beast Boost
    As the name may imply, I took heavy inspiration from the biblical descriptions of seraphim. Essentially, seraphim are 6-winged angels associated primarily with light and purity and loosely associated with fire. Only 2 of their wings are for flying - 2 of the others cover their eyes, and the remaining 2 cover their feet. My design doesn't have feet or eyes, but the basis is still there. I incorporated the fire theme in its colors. The shiny version is just a straight color swap - I didn't have anything in mind, I just wanted something that contrasted with the base version. I chose to make Serafeus an Ultra Beast because it seems so otherworldly, as experiences with angels are said to be.
