When browsing internet forums, be it LV or anywhere else, do you find that you are the kind of person who prefers to begin a discussion, or contribute to an existing one? Do you prefer to interact with other people when reading their views, or post your own and leave it to other people to interact with you? Is your approach to conversation online at all similar to that of face-to-face interaction?
Both, actually. I like to start some, but it's rare for me to go out of my way to, and the same goes for commenting on other people's things. I mean, I obviously do since I'm here, but I prefer to keep to the background and keep my opinion out of matters unless asked (like you're doing now). This is similar to how I am in the real world, but not really at the same time. I guess I just speak a lot more in the real world, more often to myself than anyone else. But there's always going to be a difference between online me and real me, namely language.
I prefer a nice mix, but I prefer making my own topics. It allows me exercise greater creativity and discuss the things I have on my mind. As of now, I have made 207 topics, so while I'm not insane with them, I have started quite a few. Later down the road, I also like going back and reading the responses of the other members, seeing how our views compare, and occasionally carrying the conversation with them as well.
Both. But Mostly Like To Contribute To The Existing One. If There Is No Thread About What I Want To Talk About, Then I Create A New Thread.
On LV, I only reply to threads since most of my topic ideas are already on here. Marriland is a different story as there still aren’t that many threads yet.
I am more the type of person to reply to already made threads. Most of the time when I have an idea for a thread, I think it won't get much response and think it not worth posting.
I only tend to start conversations if a) I can't find an existing one that interests me or b) there aren't many people starting conversations. I don't really like to have all that attention on me most of the time.
