In a dark, foggy abyss not too far from Romea, sits a magical, ancient castle. This historical citadel, residing in the mystical world of Eda (Eda is in what would be the equivalent of our middle ages, though with magic and a wide diversity of other species. Modern technology is lost in the portal there, provided your character does not already live in Eda.), has recently been re-opened as an academy for young students with peculiar abilities. Today, you are receiving an invitation to Crisis Academy. Join now, or forever regret your decision.

    Crisis Academy is currently accepting.

(Click here for an outstanding map of Crisis Academy)

Crisis Academy sits isolated in the center of some of nature's most beautiful but deadly elements. Around the mystical school, craggy mountains that reach for the sky tower their paths and peaks teeming with dangerous creatures and conditions. Jutting off from one of the mountains is an enormous, serene cliff, where a dazzling waterfall crashes down. Below the academy, a large and gorgeous lake lies, twisting around the school and branching off into several small rivers. Each body of water is infested with a wide diversity of different animals, varying from tadpoles to flying piranhas to full blown, frost-breathing sea monsters. A fair distance away, chaotic storm spirits find their home in dark and dreary clouds, pulling lightning, in a myriad of colors, from the ground, playing their thunderous drums, lashing at travelers with whip-like winds, and drenching whatever may be under it in a heavy sheet of rain. Across the mountains, thick forests decorate the earth with their alluring (albeit very dangerous) plants.

Those skilled enough to overcome the numerous obstacles in their way and reach Crisis Academy are rewarded with complete acceptance into the school. The castle radiates a magical aura, leaving even the most battle-hardened veterans in awe. The academy's overpowering presence flows through the body and soul, alleviating aches, pains, and even small wounds. After the letter of invitation has been presented, the large doors swing open into...

The Entrance Hall is a student's first step into the beginning of their experience at Crisis Academy, and where some may end up spending most of their time. Doves swoop through the air, delivering messages back and forth, patrolling, and keeping outside creatures at bay. Upon entrance, one of these birds will show the student to the front desk, where they'll receive their supplies (for those who attend class) and dorm keys.

Light always brightly shines through the glass windows, even at night when the moon light soaks the halls in an awe-inspiring glow. Many souls have passed through these halls, each footstep engraved within history itself, making the halls a centerpiece of life.

Long red curtains drape the walls around the room, and fine dinnerware lays across the long, red table where many had eaten. The rich, blue carpet has faint footprints of the many students who have had the privilege of dining in the royal room. Plates float through the air, and the food is never served; it seemingly comes out of thin air.

The classrooms vary upon the subject.

Situated just north of Crisis Academy sits the animal taming ground. The roughly carved path winds through the beginning of a fairly small mountain range and ends in a vast clearing littered with rocks. A variety of intriguing and marvelous creatures, many of whom have wandered in from surrounding areas, inhabit the training grounds. Most of these beings are docile and will not attack those passing by; however, if approached, these creatures are more than likely to become aggressive.

In a dark, candle lit room lies the School Library. As you walk inside, you can feel the cracked, cold stone floor under your feet. The walls are lined with large shelves, each containing an endless amount of books. With such a vast collection of wisdom, the library essentially holds all knowledge regarding any subject.

A verdant square lies between the buildings of Crisis Academy, structures visible cascading into the distance. The sun can be seen at certain hours gleaming from the polished azure globe of the castle, casting shadows onto the statues of folk long past, residing in memory. At the square's center sits a majestic fountain, its plumes of water lending an aura of serenity to this open-air retreat.

In the Infirmary, patients rest after going through any type of medical trauma. With the help of magical healing properties, the infirmary cures most ailments with no complications.

Books dance through the air, glimmering cobwebs sit in the shelf tops, and will-o-wisps hover about, illuminating every crevice of the room and leading students to . Many famous books are contained in this room, ones which date back thousands of years.

Beneath the academy snakes an underground corridor, the school's most unattractive feature. The entrance sits, gathering dust, beside the main stairway, while the corridor itself, seeing little to no use, has started its own collection of cobwebs, discarded torches, and illusionary skeletons to brighten things up.

The underground corridor opens up into what used to be a dungeon. Having very few visitors in decades, the dungeon took on its own will. Lonely woes and moans can be heard coming from this desolate area late at night, though the complaints are mainly due to the dungeon's magic, rather than its sole inhabitant - an enormous family of bats. A long, winding path leads to the dungeon portal, which in turn leads to the Dusk Dimension.

With its entry portal sitting unguarded in Crisis Academy's dungeon, the Dusk Dimension is, by far, the safest and most bland of currently discovered universes. The sun lazily hangs in the sky, dimly illuminating the craggy surface of the land and the dull-gray mountains that rise half-heartedly from the ground. A single castle rests upon a wildly horned hill, sitting far out in the dreary lands. Mild-natured, humanoid creatures, namely elves, goblins, and a handful of surviving shades inhabit the realm, nearly all of them living a bleak and boring existence in the Dusk Dimension.

The Twilight World is the realm of every single spec of every single thing to ever reside in the shadows. The world is accessed only by Shades and other darkly-natured creatures. The dry, deceased land is dimly lit and emanates a strong aura of death itself. Due to the demonic and deadly nature of the realm, it falls behind only the Chrono Realm in terms of danger. Its inhabitants attack anyone and anything, living or nonliving, and persist until the prey or they themselves have fallen out of the state of living. The world is, rather was, ruled by a young, merciless Shade, who seized control as a test of power. Merely by sitting on the empty thrown, which rests upon the tallest pillar in the realm, he instilled fear and balance into the very land itself, and shortly after abandoned the desolate world.

The Chrono Realm is the strangest and most twisted of all dimensions. It appears to be the point where time, space, light, and dark all come together in a chaotic clash. The laws of physics are shattered, logic is decimated, and reason becomes morphed into obscenity. Magic seeps from every pore in this strange world, making even the most mundane of things seem extraterrestrial. Out of this, very little is known about the Chrono Realm, as those who have managed to get there often return, if they return, broken and ingrained deep into the bowels of insanity. The only known entrance sits in the deepest chamber of Crisis Academy, guarded by thousands upon thousands of spells, traps, monsters, and other great dangers.

Underneath the rocky cliff that lifts Crisis Academy into the sky lies the mesmerizing Mystic Lake. Beams of light from the setting sun bounce off of its crystal-clear surface and break apart, creating a stunning display of shimmering blue lights. Naiads dance under the show's spectacular spotlight, attempting to lure curious students into the water's mysterious depths, in which thrive a plethora of multi-specied beasts, ranging from rainbow-colored koi to the great, white serpent. While the sight is astonishing, it is recommended to stay out of the water.

Surrounding the mystical academy is one of the world's strongest fortresses - the Crisis Mountains. Imbued with naturally occurring magic, developed to defend itself from ill-natured inhabitants and explorers, the mountain range is nearly invulnerable to any attacks from the outside and inside, making it a perfect location for the Academy to thrive in without worries of enemy ambush or invasion. Its craggy peaks tower over all before them and cast a shadow on the mysterious lands beneath. A twisted and narrow path snakes its way through the monstrous mountains. Travelers need be wary of the Crevice Spiders, the aggressive arachnids who equal the flying reptiles atop the crown in terms of size and strength, as well as the rumored demon, who supposedly dwells in a cave near the exit. Far above, dragons soar through the air over the rocky summits where they build their nests. These creatures, while majestic, have no hesitation in slaughtering those who dare to trespass through their domain, usually killing their unfortunate victims with just one blast of their scorching flames or one slice of their scythe-like claws. Far beneath, branching off from the Mystic Lake, winds a rushing river with one of the most powerful currents throughout the continent. The quick-moving body of water drains out into the Romean Lake, which sits just by the bustling town of Romea.

The Waterfal Cliff is one of the most magical and serene places that surrounds Crisis Academy. The water from the Mystic Lake rushes through one of its many river branches. The water travels upwards with a magical momentum, and crashes down back into the lake through a large crevice that divides the waterfall cliff from the exit of the Guardian's Valley.

A great stretch of land away from Crisis Academy sits the entrance to the Guardian's Valley. Two elegantly-carved statues jut out from the rock walls that line the extravagantly blooming, grass path. They sit across from each other, each wearing a crown atop their heads and holding a royal staff in hand. The ancient stone that makes up their bodies radiates the purest kind of magic. Under control of the valley's guardian, the pair guard the entrance, letting only those they deem worthy of entrance pass by them. Any creature with ill-intent towards the valley or what lies beyond meets the unfortunate fate of a brawl with the stone-strong duo. Granted with movement from the waist and up, the guardians attack with their long-reaching battle staves or nearby boulders, impaling or crushing their prey with great precision. Those deemed worthy or those who possess the raw skill to pass through the twins' rocky rampage are rewarded the sheer beauty of the valley. Everywhere one looks there always seems to be a myriad of blooming flowers or sparkling stone.

    Lightning Field*
Storm spirits gather before the great Crisis Mountains, raining down brilliant bolts of lightning from the murky, gray clouds in which they reside. The Lightning Field is a dark and desolate place that, since the arrival of its chaotic inhabitants hundreds of years ago, has never witnessed the light of day. While providing the shortest and most accessible path to the academy, it is by far the most dangerous. One must take the risk passing under of the storm spirits that prance around in the clouds above them, as they find their entertainment in launching lightning bolts at travelers. An individual should also be wary of the various creatures that live there, such as the thunder mice or the tempest wolves. It is advised not to anger the storm spirits, as their physical being is composed of nothing but electricity.

The Pax Forest is a dense jungle that ultimately defies space. Undiscovered creatures lurk in its shadows and are often the study of much research by numerous scientists who wish to reveal the secrets it holds. Contorted paths hidden by layers of wayward undergrowth make up the forest's ground, and the towering dense trees crowd out the sky. Animal life mocks that of an undersea world, and is the only place on Earth that such creatures can be observed. Its unique gravitational force, spellbinding creatures, and its mystical environment create a forest unlike any other.

    Pax Mountain
These seemingly infinite chains of floating mountains are shrouded in a thick fog at the edge of Pax Forest. The rich land and pure, unpolluted water that flow off the mountain's sharp cliffs make it a dangerous site, but also an opportunity to curious adventurers who wish to exploit its many secrets. Sharp mountain peaks provide spectacular views, and because the mountains are always moving across the mesosphere, temperatures are often below zero. Different types of unique plant life are able to thrive in these conditions, however, and nine times out of ten, a never before seen creature can be spotted. Data on Pax Mountain is very scarce, but multiple variations on legends passed down by many tribes in the region tell of brave warriors who planned to find and defeat a fabled behemoth or the mysterious Pax Castle, but no evidence suggests that these brave heroes made it out alive.

    Pax's Castle
Only existent in folklore spread by the many tribes that follow the teachings of the long dead dictator, King Pax, Pax's Castle is said to be atop the tallest peak on Pax Mountain. Legends say that Pax's Castle is surrounded by many perilous cliffs and mountain peaks that are imbued with an unseen dark magic. They say castle itself is guarded by a multi-headed dragon, the Ladon. Often hidden in a blanket of fog from the clouds that's haunt the stronghold's existence, and a mountainous path spirals up to the top to over-sized gates made of stone that warn anyone who nears. The castle is said to be made primarily of stone with the exception of the towers made of black crystals, imported from the deepest depths of Hell. The main building that supports the towers are formed into the shapes of horns, and release a strong celestial field that spreads across the region, protecting it from warriors, searching for the fortress. Many say the castle doesn't even exist and that it's just a mere myth, but others insist that the Apple of Discord, a stairway to heaven, or even a gate to Hell lies within the ruined castle, and the answers to life are just a corridor away.

    Pax Academy Ruins
The ruins that still stand today still give off an ominous aura that suggests the academy itself had an undying energy built inside its walls. Columns of pure marble stretch up towards the sky and inscriptions of some sort are written on the walls that still remain standing have been left untouched for thousands of years. Why the academy is no longer standing and what happened to the thousands of students that attended this noble school are questions left unanswered, but perhaps they're better left that way...

    Skull Break Ruins
Lost in the hazardous cliffs of Crisis Mountains is the Skull Break Ruins. Many century of constant erosion caused the once magnificent Skull Break Castle to crumble and is now a popular training spot for many heroes who wish to grow stronger. Some pillars chiseled from stone remain standing while others have fallen, creating a dangerous to unsuspecting travelers and the sturdy remains of the grand architecture have become unreliable and fragile. With the roof and much of the flooring on the upper grounds ruined, sunlight is able to shine on its interior, allowing small trees and vegetation to sprout up from beneath the rubble. Below the area is a dark sprawling dungeon where many deadly beasts like to lurk, including the dangerous troll. The Skull Break dungeons are connected to a set of unnamed caverns that run below the Crisis Mountains and to the waterfall cliffs, but they are seldom traveled on. Though not much activity is known to happen at night, abnormally sized wild wolves are not an uncommon sight during the late midnight hours.

    Tsuki Shai Castle
The Tsuki Shai Castle is located deep within the mountains of the waterfall cliffs. The outer walls of the Tsuki Shai Castle are always bathed in golden light, regardless of the time of day. A narrow dirt path surrounded by nothing but a death-defying drop off into sharp rocks leads up to the colossal doors of the fortress, and the towers it bears reach for the clouds not too far above. Flocks of doves are often seen flying around the castle's perimeter, watching out for any uninvited guests. Most of the castle is shrouded in a thick white mist, creating a spectacular scene for the imagination. Stories about the castle are always prevalent, but nothing more than fairy tales ever emerge about the fort. Nobody has been able to enter the castle, escape it, and live to tell the tale, but it's been around for as long as anyone can remember.

    Blackwind Town
Only a few miles away from Crisis Academy, Blackwind Town has evolved into a massive city after thousands of years of economic, geographic, and population growth. Gothic styled structures used for successful businesses are made of unearthly ores and make up the bulk of the city while smaller residential buildings take up the city's outskirts. The dark streets and allies are often hazy with the release of toxins a common occurrence from nearby factories. Blackwind town is home to over thirteen-thousand beings, magical and non-magical alike. The Blackwind Observatory is one of the metropolis's main attractions, being home to the most powerful telescope around. Capable of going past the farthest galaxies, the telescope is powerful enough to see other worlds and dimensions. Immulius, the city's ruler, has been in control of Blackwind Town since it was first founded more than two-hundred centuries ago, but no one has ever paid much attention to it. The whole town has been at peace for as long as he been around, and for that, forever grateful. But recent sightings of some sort of creature, followed by the disappearance of twelve people have left people concerned about their future ahead.

    Romea
A small, cozy country town full of farms, houses, shops, and snaking rivers that snake throughout the area. Dirt roads are a prominent feature in the town, along with the many houses positioned on the steep hills. Watermills take advantage of the constantly flowing water provided by the rivers flowing down from the Crisis Mountains. Lush green trees are a common sight, giving the impression that this town is undeveloped and isolated from the outside world. Not many eventful things are known to happen in this sleepy town full of ordinary humans, but word is the village was founded by a powerful otherworldly being. Though it is situated a considerable distance from Crisis Academy, Romea is the closest town around inhabited by solely humans.

*All locations with an asterisk are pathways to Crisis Academy. Area guardian names are in bold - these are the obstacles you must pass to get to Crisis Academy.

    NPCs:

    Name: Emereth Elmore
    Age: 32
Ability: Headmaster Emereth has an ability classified as legendary by top scholars across the globe. Receiving the exceptional power to rearrange the atoms of her body to change states, Emereth can become any of the three forms of matter: solid, liquid, and gas. Such a technique often leaves her adversaries off guard, transforming into the ghostly state of an invisible vapor or becoming nothing but an untouchable fluid. With her strategic mind and her resourceful tactics, Emereth can easily confound and kill her enemies simply by creating the most ingenious of traps.
    Profession: Headmaster

    Name: Xavier Zalandra
    Age: 24
Ability: Xavier is acknowledged by many as one of the greatest magicians in the world, being able to perform some of the most difficult and powerful spells known throughout Eda. While he is the only member of the Crisis Academy staff without a unique and naturally-gained power, he is one of the strongest, falling short of only Emereth. Xavier, like all other magicians, is able to freely manipulate the magic energy within his body, though he is one of the very few who can channel and externalize this ability without any sort of medium. Along with this, he is the only known creature able to use all known types of magic with great expertise, despite his energy's alignment with fire. This is a truly remarkable feat, as even the best of mages cannot stray far from their energy's element.
Professions: Deputy Headmaster & Magic Teacher

Name: Helios Ouranos (to the right, holding the sword and lantern)
    Age: 23
Ability: Helios, named after the sun, and his sibling, Luna, fall behind only Emereth in terms of strength. Helio's ability is energy conversion; he steals lightning from the skies and fashions them into arrows, shifts flames into blades, and materializes heat into whatever his heart may desire. He has a heart of gold and combat proficiency that exceeds even Ava's.
    Profession: Headmaster's Consultant

Name: Luna Ouranos (to the left, holding the staff and wearing the mask)
    Age: 23
Ability: Luna, named after the moon, opposite of his brother, can convert matter into energy, making him as potent a threat as his sibling. He makes rocks crumble into flame, trees crackle into lightning, and even dissolve man into nothing but a pocket of heat. His combat prowess is as frightening as his sibling's, if not more so. With a will of iron and an undying loyalty to his headmaster, he lets nothing stand in the way of Emereth.
    Profession: Headmaster's Consultant

    Name: Simon Gewanter (on left)
    Age: 22
Abilities: Simon is a kind receptionist of Crisis Academy and the brother of the other receptionist, Suri. Simon never forgets a face, which really helps with his occupation. Once Simon has seen someone's face, he can visualize that person's location within his mind. Usually seen with his eyes closed, Simon monitors the students' whereabouts. With Simon as a receptionist, it'll be difficult for students to create mischief!
    Profession: Receptionist

    Name: Suri Gewanter (on right)
    Age: 24
Abilities: Suri is the sister of Simon. Quiet and calculative, Suri never forgets a person's voice once she hears it. She uses this gift to monitor the speech of students. Remembering a person's voice, she can pick up on what that person is saying, regardless of their location. She and her brother often work together to monitor students.
    Profession: Receptionist

    Name: Kira Kalkofen
    Age: 28
Abilities: Kira is intelligent and intimidating. Being a staff member at Crisis Academy, of course, means that this talented nurse has a special ability. Having a unique singing voice, her eerie but catchy melodies can magically heal minor injuries and sicknesses. Despite looking intimidating, Kira is willing to help anyone in need.
    Professions: Nurse & Remedies Teacher

    Name: Karayan Black
    Age: Unknown
Ability: Shrouded in mystery, Karayan Black is one of the most arcane members of the Crisis Academy staff. His replete control over nearly any metal grants his unorthodox body, crafted from titanium alloy, movement, and allows him to reshape metallic objects any way he pleases. Often fighting with the two tentacle-like spears sprouting from his back, the doctor makes a fearsome opponent, even being able to puncture neat, perfectly round holes in diamond.
    Profession: Doctor

    Name: Ava Cybil
    Age: 29
Ability: Ava possesses the rare ability to manipulate and control the wind. The currents of air she manipulates are often used to control her enemies and render them helpless, stuck in a whirlwind strong enough to pull them in two. Often times, the gusts let loose from her body are so strong, a severe tornado may form that can leave the opponent devastated. With her gales being ferocious enough to sever boulders and even some types of metal in two, her unique power makes her a terrifying enemy.
    Profession: Combat Teacher

    Name: Zane Xal
    Age: 17
Ability: Zane's strength lies within his sharp mind and ability to summon nearly any type of potion or ingredient seemingly from thin air. His physical body is a concoction of rare and even unheard of elements, which he can release, control, and combine at will. Zane is often regarded as a boy genius, having become a teacher and nearly fighting Ava to a standstill at the age of 13. His wit falls only slightly lower than Mr. Blue
    Profession: Potions Teacher

    Name: Serena Sidara
    Age: 26
Ability: Serena was blessed with an intriguing and marvelous pair of talents. Her voice is heard, understood, and responded to by all living beings, from elves to fish to trees. Even the most ferocious of dragons swoon at the songs of, as she's commonly called, nature's daughter. Water flows, jumps, and dances with just a flick of her finger, and waves crash at her command.
    Profession: Animal Taming Teacher

    Name: Elwood Sidara
    Age: 22
Ability: Elwood, the younger brother of Serena Sidara, was born with an ability that forms a set with his sister's. His golden voice allows him to fluently communicate with the inanimate, and they back to him; though, this power does not extend to the deceased. With a touch of his hand, he grants life to even the most inanimate of things. Due to his ability, he is very rarely lacks knowledge about any on-goings around him, and seems to always be prepared. Elwood's most prized possession is his whip, as, unlike any other thing affected by his gift, it is capable of emotion. He is never seen without it.
    Profession: Field Training Teacher

    Name: Tyler Cyton
    Age: 34
Ability: Tyler's relaxed and easy-going nature allows him to adapt to nearly any situation with no troubles and grants him the privilege of getting along with nearly everyone, including Time itself. With a snap of a finger, he can reverse, slow, or even stop time entirely. Though he usually uses this ability for research, he can turn it into the most potent of weapons in only a second. Tyler fights with hand to hand combat, and uses an 'arrow' technique where he punctures his enemy with only his finger.
    Profession: Math Teacher

    Name: Skyler Blue
    Age: 27
Ability: Skyler has a mind completely in sync with the Interealm, a realm of nothing but vast knowledge, and the environment. This combination gives him an infinite pool of information at his disposal which can be used to his advantage in multiple ways. Even though science is his forte, his combat skills are high above par. Mr. Blueu can control space and distort reality to create illusions. These deceptions are more than just tricks, however, as they are known to effect atoms in dangerous ways that can lead up to a destruction of matter itself.
    Profession: Science Teacher

    Name: Alyssa Moon
    Age: 150
Ability: Mrs. Moon's past is as perplexing as her powers. No one knows for sure what kinds of power she wields, whether it's light or dark, water or fire. All they know is that it's spellbinding and powerful, capable of splitting anything she commands her blade to cut. Her scythe is as strong as her soul, shattering the thin line between life and death as well as dreams and reality.
    Profession: Literature Teacher

    Name: Daj Wilder
    Age: 29
Ability: Daj's heart of stone is as strong as his fists. Exceptionally talented in hand-to-hand combat, Daj is so strong, he can punch through steel and his legs can carry him so high, he can clear a forty-floor skyscraper. His callused fingers can read whatever they touch, be it another beings thoughts or an inanimate object's past, not matter how long. Even though he cannot travel through time directly, he has enough knowledge that could make others guess otherwise.
    Profession: History Teacher

    Name: Yasmine Seraphina
    Age: Unknown
Ability: Given the nickname "daughter of demise" by her colleagues and fellow friends, Yasmine Seraphina is among the greatest warriors in the world, if not the universe. Her sword, forged from an ethereal essence found only in the core of a black hole, can cut and quickly reflect almost anything that it comes into contact with. Her elegant movements that she executes with only the best of precision are devilish and can be compared to a sophisticated ballet, danced only by demons.
    Profession: Art Teacher

    Name: Aysen Kilbas
    Age: 36
Ability: Aysen's strong point is his outstanding ability to properly prepare and deliver a full-course meal for twenty in just under five minutes. Having spent most of his life cooking for his enormous groups, he has developed an incredible knack for whipping up food, and due to his fiery talent of teleportation, his meals are never served cold or eaten late. Aysen is a master of the element of fire, and, taking the phrase "at the speed of light" literally, has built on his power to the point where he can transfer anything he chooses to any given location faster than the blink of an eye.
Professions: Chef & Cullinary Arts Teacher

    Age: 23
Ability: Cairn is the powerful blacksmith of Crisis Academy. Though he'd rather spend his time alone with his smithing tools, he is kind to every student and willing to help out whenever he can. Cairn never complains or gives up and has a charming smile, which causes many female students to become infatuated with him. Cairn has the special ability to control gravity. Being able to control gravity, Cairn can lift any object with ease and even keep an object or enemy floating in place by decreasing the amount of gravity around that enemy or object. By intensifying gravity, he can make it difficult to move a person or object.
    Profession: Smithing Teacher

A lot of the time someone goes to join Crisis Academy, they look at the character skeleton, decide it's too complicated, and change their mind about joining. Other times, they fill out the forms, but ask me what to do for every other thing because, hell, it's not that clear. So, I'm making this brief 'tutorial' on how to make a character.

To begin, let's take a quick look at the character profile.
    Name:
    Username:
    Dorm #:

    Age:
    Appearance:
    Race:
    Pet:
    Pet Powers:
    Attribute:
    Element:
    Powers:
    Bio:
    Theme Song (Optional):

If you're like most people, you probably didn't understand quite a few of those areas, but that's what the tutorial is for. Now, here's the part where I go piece by piece and explain this to you, only for you guys to say I suck and to suck your ego. Well, here you go...

Name: This is the name of your character. Not your name, however, it can be if you want it to. Keep in mind, in order to change your name, you have to write a part where it happens in the story, and also notify Barry and I.

Username: This one is pretty obvious - you just put your username (on this site) in case your character profile somehow gets lost.

Dorm #: The dorm number of the dorm your character lives in. You cannot have the same dorm as someone else on the single dorms, but you can be with ONE other person. The DOUBLE dorms can have only two people, no more.

Class Schedule: These are the classes your character will be taking. Actually attending the classes is entirely optional, but signing up for them is a requirement. Students do receive grades, though they mean little.

Age: This is also somewhat obvious. It's your character's age.

Appearance: Your character's physical appearance, everything from a basic description of your character's sexiness/ugliness to a magnificently detailed description.

Race: No, not white, hispanic, African American, etc. This is the species of your character! Skin color belongs in the Appearance category.

Pet: Your character's pet, if they have one. You can have up to two pets, if you're a veteran.

Pet Powers: Any powers your pet may have, be as creative as you want!

Attribute: This is the one that gets most people, but it's really quite simple. Is your character good, bad, evil, in between, etc.? That's what we're looking for with this category!

Element: Your character's primary element, pretty self explanatory.

Powers: Ah, finally. Where your true creativity shines. Go all out with this, it's fairly simple! Just list your character's powers and also weapons! Be creative!

Bio: Another place to be creative. Your character's bio is their back story.

Theme Song (Optional): This one is probably most obvious of all. Your character's theme song. You don't have to have one, it's just if you want one.

    RULES:

    1. Write in 3rd person.

    2. No killing or crippling (cutting off limbs, taking away powers, etc.) of NPCs or others' characters without their permission.

    3. Swearing IS allowed, but keep it PG-13

    4. No cheating. This includes (but not limited to):
    >Use of weapons/powers not included in your original profile or that your character spontaneously obtained.
    >Exaggerated or unreasonable powers/weapons; i.e. flames over a thousand degrees,
    >Invulnerability is strictly prohibited.
    >Immortality must have a minimum of 5 exceptions, then be approved by a Crisis Academy game staff.
    >Dual elements are not allowed unless you have been given (without asking) permission from game staff or unless you are a Crisis Academy game staff (these characters have less strict power limits). If you prove to be a competent roleplayer who shows a genuine knowledge of what you're doing, you may be granted permission.

    5. You cannot have a character that is crossbred with an animal, unless they are a centaur or satyr.

    6. Use "((()))" to write outside of the Role Play, like this: "(((You can write like this outside of the text)))"

    7. Do not write with * to do an action. Write out the action.

    8. Write "Crisis Academy is beautiful." so that we know you read the rules.

    9. This isn't a story, so you don't have to title your parts or break it apart!

    10. Use proper grammar.

    11. Do not purposefully bypass another player's post unless you deem it as cheating (in this case, report it to a Role Playing Moderator).

    12. Do not delete your own or another person's posts without permission from a game staff. This can alter the events of the Role Play, and your action will count as cheating.

    14. Post your completed character skeleton in the proper thread.

    15. Only one pet per character. Two pets are only allowed to game staff.

    16. You may have two characters; however, you must abide by the following guidelines:
    > Your characters cannot be related.
    > Your characters cannot be love interests of each other.
    > Your characters cannot be the same species.
    > Your characters cannot have the same abilities.
    > Your characters cannot share the same dorm.
    > If one of your characters is fighting another player and you bring your second character in to help them so it's two-on-one without the other player's consent, it will be considered godmodding and you'll need to edit your post or it will be removed.

    17. Do not control NPCs without permission from the game staff.

    18. Posts must be at least three paragraphs, each consisting of a minimum of five sentences. This is a total of 15 sentences per post. This may seem daunting, but if the staff can do it, so can you.

    19. Do not submit unfinished posts to be edited later.

    20. Dress your characters for the time era. This doesn't mean you're required to wear a suit of armor and such; it simply means that there aren't any modern clothes yet (jeans, converse, brand-name sneakers, band shirts, etc. - those sorts of things aren't yet invented and therefore aren't allowed).

    21. Your character must be completely original. They may not be from a franchise.

    22. Your character may have a maximum of three weapons on them at a time. Any more than this must be stored in the student's dorm or the school's armory.

    TIPS
    • Being a "chosen one" does not grant you any other powers or more significant strength than any of the other students. As such, it is recommended to avoid using titles similar to these.
    • Use sensory details (sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell).
    • Include your character's verbal and non-verbal responses to situations
      > Satix's stomach churned.
      > "That's not swaggy," He murmured.
    • Show - don't tell.
      > "No," Satix said angrily.
      -
      V.S. -
      > Satix pressed his lips together tightly. His hands balled into shaky fists. "No."
    • MRUs - Motivation-Reaction Units (Definitely recommend taking the time to read this next bit)

"The Motivation is objective but it is something that your character can see (or hear or smell or taste or feel). You will write this in such a way that your reader also sees it (or hears it or smells it or tastes it or feels it). You will then start a new paragraph in which your POV character does one or more things in Reaction to the Motivation. There is an exact sequence you must follow in writing your Reaction. The sequence is based on what is physiologically possible. Note that the Motivation is external and objective. The Reaction is internal and subjective. If you do this, you create in your reader the powerful illusion that he is experiencing something real. Now let's break this down into more detail . . .

The Motivation is external and objective, and you present it that way, in objective, external terms. You do this in a single paragraph. It does not need to be complicated.

      Here is a simple example:

The tiger dropped out of the tree and sprang toward Jack.

Note the key points here. This is objective. We present the Motivation as it would be shown by a videocamera. Nothing here indicates that we are in Jack's point of view. That comes next, but in the Motivation we keep it simple and sharp and clean.

The Reaction is internal and subjective, and you present it that way, exactly as your POV character would experience it – from the inside. This is your chance to make your reader be your POV character. To repeat myself, this must happen in its own paragraph (or sequence of paragraphs). If you leave it in the same paragraph as the Motivation, then you risk whip-sawing the reader. Which no reader enjoys.

The Reaction is more complex than the Motivation. The reason is that it is internal, and internal processes happen on different time-scales. When you see a tiger, in the first milliseconds, you only have time for one thing – fear. Within a few tenths of a second, you have time to react on instinct, but that is all it will be – instinct, reflex. But shortly after that first reflexive reaction, you will also have time to react rationally, to act, to think, to speak. You must present the full complex of your character's reactions in this order, from fastest time-scale to slowest. If you put them out of order, then things just don't feel right. You destroy the illusion of reality. And your reader won't keep reading because your writing is "not realistic." Even if you got all your facts right.

      Here is a simple example:

A bolt of raw adrenaline shot through Jack's veins. He jerked his rifle to his shoulder, sighted on the tiger's heart, and squeezed the trigger. "Die, you bastard!"

Now let's analyze this. Note the three parts of the Reaction:

Feeling: "A bolt of raw adrenaline shot through Jack's veins." You show this first, because it happens almost instantly.
Reflex: "He jerked his rifle to his shoulder . . ." You show this second, as a result of the fear. An instinctive result that requires no conscious thought.
Rational Action and Speech: ". . . sighted on the tiger's heart, and squeezed the trigger. 'Die, you bastard!'" You put this last, when Jack has had time to think and act in a rational way. He pulls the trigger, a rational response to the danger. He speaks, a rational expression of his intense emotional reaction.
It is legitimate to leave out one or two of these three parts. (You can't leave out all three or you have no Reaction.) But there is one critical rule to follow in leaving parts out: Whatever parts you keep in must be in the correct order. If there is a Feeling, it must come first. If there is a Reflex, it must never come before a Feeling. If there is some Rational Action, it must always come last. This is simple and obvious and if you follow this rule, your Reactions will be perfectly structured time after time.

And after the Reaction comes . . . another Motivation. This is the key. You can't afford to write one perfect MRU and then be happy. You've got to write another and another and another. The Reaction you just wrote will lead to some new Motivation that is again external and objective and which you will write in its own paragraph. Just to continue the example we've created so far:

The bullet grazed the tiger's left shoulder. Blood squirted out of the jagged wound. The tiger roared and staggered, then leaped in the air straight at Jack's throat.

Note that the Motivation can be complex or it can be simple. The only requirement is that it be external and objective, something that not only Jack can see and hear and feel but which any other observer could also see and hear and feel, if they were there.

The important thing is to keep the alternating pattern. You write a Motivation and then a Reaction and then another Motivation and then another Reaction. When you run out of Motivations or Reactions, your Scene or Sequel is over. Don't run out too soon. Don't drag on too long.

Write each Scene and Sequel as a sequence of MRUs. Any part of yourScene or Sequel which is not an MRU must go. Cut it ruthlessly. Show no mercy. You can not afford charity for a single sentence that is not pulling its weight. And the only parts of your scene that pull their weight are the MRUs. All else is fluff."

You could see rage in Red's eyes as he starred intensely at the bank robber who shuttered in fear. "I'm sorry, I just needed the money to pay my rent and I didn't know..." the thief was cut off by Red who spoke saying, "Save it you scum, I have had enough of you criminals and your excuses." Suddenly Red's right hand became engulfed in a torrent of water. The criminal was frozen in fear as Red made a swift punch to the thief's forehead, knocking him out. The criminal's body fell to the ground. Red walked over calmly and retrieved the two stolen money sacks the criminal had taken, and walked up to the foot of a silky white house in the dim alley.

Red now climbed up a fire escape until he reached the top of the building, and then he ran. He ran jumping over from building to building looking below at the people of Heatveil city. The temperature outside was the same as it always was, 90 degrees fahrenheit, no more no less. The time: 8:30pm, the crisp moon floating high above the skies of Heatveil. Red stopped running as he had reached the rooftop of the bank labeled on the money sacks. He held his outstretched arm over the edge and dropped the two sacks in front of the mint green bank. The noise attracted the cops who were questioning a few witnesses. The cop spoke, "Wait is that the money?" His fellow cop spoke too, "Why, yes it is, they have the bank's labels on them!" The two men looked up, but Red was already long gone.

Red reached his home on the outskirts of town. He lived in a dusky old hut near the mountain that bordered Heatveil. The small home was hidden by a few mossy rocks and shrubs. Inside were a small amber bed, a shadow black desk, and a small bed where a tiny lizard slept. "I'm home", Red called out, "I picked up some dinner at a market as well." The small lizard called Crest wandered out sleepily from his fluffy, small, slate bed. The black lizard's stomach was already grumbling. Red took out from his pocket a loaf of bread. He cracked it in half and threw one half to Crest who instantly devoured the loaf. Red took a chunk of bread and started chewing it slowly, then leaned against the damp walls. After about five minutes one of the highly trained dwarf dragons who delivered mail flew in and dropped a letter on the desk next to Red. Then the dragon flew out, just like that. Red opened his eyes and shot out his hand for the letter. In it read: "We know that you are not like normal people, and we would like to make a proposal. We would like you to join us at Crisis Academy, a school for those like your kind. A portal should open up tomorrow at noon sharp. If you accept this proposal then step inside, in you do not then that is your choice and the portal will close ten minutes after it arrives. Signed: Headmaster Emereth" Now Red had some thinking to do.

A young youth in a heavy cloak slipped through the dense fog towards the docks. He was searching for somebody who lived in the vicinity. As the cloaked figure continued walking through the thick fog, he noticed someone was following him. He HAD noticed. This person had been following him for half an hour now. There was no room for coincidences. The youth amassed a plan in his head for taking down whoever, or whatever was following him. Turn at the corner. Stop, and watch for the person. Kick below the knee. Chokehold. Interrogate. It was a simple plan to execute.

The youth turned the corner, and waited from the other side. It wasn't long before he saw the stalker walking the same path. He kicked the person's knee as planned, and the person gasped in pain, and crumpled to the ground. "So the person was a female," the youth thought. "Better be extra careful with the chokehold."

His arms wrapped around her throat. "Who are you?" He whispered into her ear.

"Damn it, Jason!" She shouted, half gagging from the chokehold. "Lemme go, you idiot!"

"What are you doing here, Teresa?" Jason said, letting her go quickly. "Why are you following me?"

    "Father already knows you're leaving."

    "You didn't answer my question."

Silence ensued. Teresa remained quiet, and the silence was getting erie in the fog. Jason had to say something... Anything.

    "Teresa, answer-"

"Shh..." Teresa whispered. "Do you hear that?"

Jason strained his ears. There was a quiet lapping of water. A slight breeze. Just when he was about to give up, Jason heard a faint cry of a bird.

"It's just a bird," He said. "Why are you following me?"

    "Are you coming back, Jason?"

Her words let him know that she knew exactly what was going on.

"No, Teresa," he replied. "Not for awhile. Do you know where I'm going?"

"Not exactly..." She said nervously. "Where... Where are you going, Jason?"

"Crisis Academy," He said promptly. "And I'll be happy to leave this dump of a location."

"Don't go..." She mumbled, obviously startled.

"And why not?" Jason suddenly shouted. "This is the chance of a lifetime for me to become somebody! I'll learn things you never knew existed! It's a perfect opportunity, and I'd be a fool to turn it down! And besides, no one cares for me in this dump. Father doesn't care. Mother doesn't care. Hell, no one cares here. This is the WORST place to live in!"

Teresa was quiet, trembling slightly. "Goodbye, brother," She finally forced out.

Jason turned his back on her, and began walking off towards the man who would take him to Crisis Academy. He could feel Teresa's stare, but he had already made up his mind years ago. To turn back now... There would be no other opportunity.

The man who he met up with got the boat ready, and Jason prepared his tickets. After the man got back, Jason handed the tickets to the man, and they walked over to the ship. It was barely visible in the fog, but it seemed to be old and rickety. Nevertheless, Jason was not too worried, and he promptly got on the creaky ship. He was finally going to the Academy.

It was a beautiful morning, the time: nine o' clock. The crisp moon could still be seen in the sky. The bright yellow sun was already starting to raise high in the sky. Crest woke up yawning and scrambled out of his tiny bed. Red stood up straight, awaking from his slumber of leaning on the damp walls of the small hut. The first thing he saw was the letter, resting on the black desk. He only had three hours to make up his mind. "Well Crest", he started, "I think I've decided. I have fought crime in Heatveil for quite a while, and although it is great, I need to perfect my skills so that I may take on evil and injustice." The lizard looked up with an agreeing look in his dark, ocean blue eyes. Red immediately started preparing. He didn't have many belongings, only an amulet that Sage had given him. The amulet was in the shape of a wave, and was attached to a chain of gold. He also grabbed some bread and put the amulet and bread into a black sack with gold patterns on it. Then he waited.

Noon hit. A bright red portal appeared in the center on the hut. Crest jumped onto Red's shoulders and looked up at Red who nodded to the lizard. Together they stepped into the portal. Right after entering they found themselves immediately in a dark field. Huge thunderbolts were crashing down around them. Red looked around at the strange place, it was the Lightning Field The all of a sudden a huge tiger —like creature jumped in front of Red. The tiger was yellow with black stripes that seemed to pulse with electricity. It has sharp brown spikes all along its long tail. It had huge teeth and claws. Its amber eyes starred at Red. Red acted quickly. He pointed his hands down as they became engulfed in water. Then he shot water out of his hands towards the ground repelling him off the ground and began to spin. The spinning created a giant whirlpool that spun around Red. Then Red crashed right into the tiger who flew a few feet back and landed in a thud. The tiger was injured but not dead. Crest jumped out of the whirlpool, as he was still on Red's shoulder this whole time, and started shooting multiple blasts of ice into the tiger's head, killing it off.

Red came out of the whirlpool and landed on the ground next to Crest. "Good work", he said to the lizard, "now I think I see the academy off in the distance, I think this might be a test to see if we are worthy enough to be accepted in. So Red, with Crest on his shoulder ran off through the treacherous field.

Seprix walked across the wild grasslands, nearing a grand lake with the glimmer of a cat's eye in the dark. It was twilight, and the lake only looked better in consequence. The contrasting hues of violet and azure danced enticingly across the large pool of water. Seprix continued trudging along the dew coated vegetation, with one goal in mind: Crisis Academy. Few men would even dream of it, but Seprix's resolve to get to the Academy would drive him to destroy such a exotic location, were it necessary to do so. And it is with this determination that he reached the shore of the Mystic Lake.

The water lapped at Seprix's boots as he pondered how best to cross the vast lake. He knew he had to cross the lake. Circling the body of water would not do. Such an act would only waste time; it would lead to the Crisis Mountains, which was a more tiring, repetitive way to get to the coveted Academy. What then would the point of being at the Mystic Lake be? Seprix considered his options. There were few trees around, he certainly couldn't build a raft. He couldn't swim across, as the lake was fraught with danger, and it was too long a distance for any mere human, anyhow.

"Perhaps there's a boat around," Seprix mumbled to himself. Sadly, that option did not seem too likely. Who would leave a boat lying around?

Ironically enough, Seprix was proven wrong. There was in fact a small wooden canoe lying a short distance away. He briskly walked towards the vessel. There were strange runes of a sort upon the hull of the canoe itself. The sea-worthy boat itself seemed to have a magical quality to it. Seprix did not trust the boat to cross the entire lake singlehandedly, but given the situation, he had no other choice. He nudged the canoe gently into the water, and boarded the vessel. The runes began to faintly glow, and the ship glided slowly through the calm waters.

Seprix was much taken aback at this, and tried to contrive how such a thing was possible. He pondered the workings of the ship and the runes, but could find no valid reasons as to how it functioned. A voice sang in the distance. Seprix paused to listen. The singing continued. The voice was child-like, and yet so inhuman, that it created a paradox that had a beauty in itself. The lyrics were incomprehensible, possibly a language long forgotten, in an age where all living things all spoke. And yet there was an undertone in the voice. Something so sinister, so wretched, so foul, that it created a sense of fear in one's heart. One could just imagine the disturbance in the voice for a fleeting moment, as if the singer let her guard down.

Seprix longed to see where this voice was coming from, and yet he could not tell. It came from all around. The acoustics of the lake made the sound bounce across the waters. Seprix peered down into the Mystic Lake. The lake was so crystal clear, that one could see the bottom of the lake as far as sight would allow. Fish swam through the quiet lake. A rainbow Koi the size of the boat itself could be seen in the distance. But what caught Satix's attention was the flash of silver scales just out of sight, getting closer, and closer, and closer. The voice got closer as the silver gleam did. Satix readied himself, and stared at the quickly approaching scaly mass. It had a humanoid shape, similar to a mermaid. The creature had it's mouth open in silent song, its features had a wild beauty.

Seprix tried to get a closer look at the creature. No, make that two- No, three! More and more of the creatures were circling the canoe in all directions, and more and more voices joined the choir of harmony. They began rising out of the water, and getting dangerously close to the vessel, though not quite touching the boat itself. The scales shimmered in the sunlight, and the creatures looked captivating. The song of the creatures became intensified, and Seprix began to feel a longing to join them in his heart. He felt love for the lake, the creatures, the seaweed, the water. The feelings awakened in Seprix were such as he had never felt before. He clutched his chest, and tried to remember why he had come to this lake in the first place. His memory was losing it's grip. Some of the creatures were reaching for the boat, as if to beckon him into the water to join them in their song.

Seprix forgot all. He began to reach for the creature closest to him, it's eyes staring at him with a love he couldn't believe. He reached closer, and the creature suddenly changed for a spit moment. It was rather the same creature, but it's eyes... It's eyes were marked with death, and hatred for all things that were against it's will. Seprix hesitated. The eyes were suddenly back to the loving stare, and the creature motioned him closer. Seprix drew his hand back slowly, and the creature began pleading with him in a mime like fashion. Seprix still couldn't remember why-

    Crisis Academy.

He had been a fool. Seprix realized all. The creatures noticed he knew of their purposes, as well. With a deafening screech, they all dove under the water, never to be seen again during the entirety of the trip. The canoe had made quite a headways across the vast lake by then, and tired by the near death experience as well as the rocking of the boat, Seprix slowly drifted to sleep.

"Keep near me and don't wander off," Tristan said to Ereth who followed closely behind him on a bright red leash. It was almost six 'o' clock and rush hour was taking place right as they walked down the narrow streets of Cynical City. Everyone seemed to be pushing past them roughly, trying to get to their next big destination. Even though he was getting tossed around crudely by them, the diverse population always seemed to amaze Tristan. It wasn't just humans that walked the roads of this place–as a matter of fact, humans were a rare minority–but a large group of everything else.

"I don't like this Tristan," Ereth said from below.

"I know, Ereth, but we have to get to Trinity Pier before it closes or Will gets ticked. Whichever happens first...?" Tristan realized the words of which he spoke held true to him too. He glanced up at an enormous clock tower to the east of them. It was almost lost in the smog that hung low this time of day, but he could make out the time: 5:56.

"We're running out of time," he said over his shoulder. His stride soon picked up to a speedy walk. Ereth's calm walk became a fast paced run that seemed like leaping to onlookers.

They kept this up for what seemed like miles until they reached the end of the street that merged with "Boardwalk Street," a long, linear street that connected the whole harbor.

"There's Trinity Pier," Ereth grunted. Tristan made a right and dodged the crowds that can his way. He looked both ways before crossing the four lane asphalt ocean that was the street and jumped onto the smooth cement sidewalk. This was it.

"These are our last minutes in Cynical City, Ereth. By tomorrow, we'll be dining at the tables of Crisis Academy." Tristan kept moving forward but drastically slacked his speed. He pivoted his head towards the burning sunset that rode on the raging black waves but pressed on.

Tristan soon stopped at one of the wharves that sat motionless on the water and carefully made his way down four steps. There a man with a cigar in his mouth and an intense glare into the distance waited, leaning on the black rusted railing that surrounded the whole dock. That was Will, and that was the distant expression he wore on his face when he was tired.

"It's about damn time." Will pushed off the railing and spoke with the cigar still in his mouth, but he pushed it to the side with his tongue. "Were you waitin' for the sun ta' set and the' storm to settle in completely? We got four hours to clear outta this area and that's it. That's all we have before it comes and those seas gettin' mighty rough."

"I know, I know. I screwed up again, but just complain my ear off in the boat," Tristan begged and walked up the small plank that connected the wharf to the boat.

"Don't talk back to me young man. You may be seventeen today, but it gives you no right. I hope your remembering that I can still kill you with that there shotgun under em' planks." Will chased after him up the plank and Tristan laughed at his comment. Ereth only rolled his eyes and phased out of the bright red color and leash. He jumped onto a small bed made for him and curled up into a small ball. "Tell me when we get there," he murmured quietly.

Tristan walked to the front of the ship and leaned over the guardrail. He faced the sunset and smiled. Finally, after all these years of hard labor, he was doing something he wanted to do. He was being admitted to one of the top schools in the whole world to gain further knowledge of his mysterious abilities.

An abrupt breeze began to flow between Tristan's long blonde hairs as Will pulled off from the dock. He couldn't help but close his eyes and grin wider than he had ever grinned before.

    "Finally."

In a distant island, uncharted by the common man, a race of demi-human felines known as the Sphynx Clan flourish peacefully. Once in a while they would have visitors from Crisis Academy, looking for the anyone with that one special talent worthy of Acceptance. When they'd visit, they would keep it low key so not to disturb the wild life they love and respect so much. Among these natives is a young and high-spirited female named Fauna Love. She was among the most active and enthusiastic of her generation, and even learned how to speak with other Animals, both vocally, and with body language.

One day, Fauna and her pet Opossum, which had been riding on her shoulder, had just returned home to the village after catching a basket full of fish for her family to feast on that night, when the village elder approached her.

"Ah Fauna, I see your fishing trip was successful." Said the Elder,
"Oh! Elder! Yes sir! I think I caught enough to last a few days. Um.. Is there something you needed from me?" Fauna said with a tilt of the head. "Don't tell me... the Live stock got out of the pen again.."
"No no, nothing like that my dear, but it can wait a little longer" The Elder adjusted the glasses on his nose. "Once you've dropped off your catch to your hut, please come see me at my hut."
"Oh.. well okay then if you say so Elder! See you later!" Fauna said as she turned around and dashed to the house and greeted her parents.

"Hello Mother! Hello Father! I'm back with tonight's dinner and much more!"

Her parents looked to her, not too surprised, but still happy to see her.

"Oh thank you Fauna." Said her Mother as she looked in the basket. "Oh my, There's enough in there to feed 10 people!"

"By the Sphynx's feathered wings!" Said her father "I don't know how you do it, but these fish don't even have claw or hook marks on them! It's almost as if they just jump into the basket on command!"

That was another thing, Fauna never really told anyone about her special gift, not even her parents, she didn't know why.. She just felt it was better left as a secret. Sparky, Fauna's pet Opossum, made cackling sound at her father's remark.

"If only they knew!" Sparky cackled.

Fauna simply gave Sparky a pat on the head and looked to her parents. "Well.." She said. "The Elder said he needed to talk to me about something, I'm going to go over there and speak with him now."

"Alright Dear, Please behave yourself around him, and pay attention." Her Mother said.

"Tee hee, I'll try Mom. BYE!" and again Fauna took off, this time to the Elder's hut.

Once she got there, She gave herself a moment to catch her breath, and calm herself down. Once she was composed and relaxed, she calmly entered the Elder's hut and sat down on her knees in front of the Elder and bowed respectfully. The room was dim, and was only lit with candles. The room smelled like incense of myrrh. There was also a dwarf dragon in the room, sitting on a perch.

"I'm here Elder.. You wished to speak to me about something?" Fauna asked before noticing the dragon. "OH! Is that a Dragon!?"

The Elder sat down as well and looked to Fauna with a smile. "Yes and yes dear child.. I'm sure you are familiar with the people who visit our island on occasion correct?"
"You doesn't!? The people from that special school for very special people right?" Fauna said, already losing her calm composure.
"Yes.. That school is known as Crisis Academy, and today This very dragon brought a message from them, and it is addressed to you Fauna."
    "Addressed to me!?" Fauna said.

The elder grabbed an envelope from his robe, and reached out to hand it to Fauna, who reached out to take it gracefully before opening it to read the letter silently. It read as follows.

"We know you are not like the others of your people, and we would like to invite you to join us at Crisis Academy as one of our students. A portal will open at the center of your village when the sun is at it's highest point in the sky. should you accept our offer, enter the portal, otherwise it will disappear on it's own in 10 minutes. You may bring whatever you'd like, including a pet, but no one else may follow or enter the portal for you."

Sparky made a faint growl noise. "I think they're on to us Fauna..."

"So...?" The Elder started waiting to see what it said. Fauna looked up to him and was silent at first.. but the suddenly cracked a smile.

"I'm going to Crisis Academy!" She said Cheerily.

Spain. An excruciatingly hot place to those who don't reside there, and that's during winter. On summer, even the locals want to stop working, go home and relax by their electric fans. This was no exception with a young man working at a wheat field. His t-shirt and shorts were soaked with sweat, huge beads of it dripping down from his black hair to the dry ground. He had been working for three hours and he had foolishly drunk all his water during the first two. He could have asked one of his co-workers to give him a sip of theirs, but they were too far away to go and ask. Plus they wouldn't have given him a drop of their only hydration source for miles. He'd just have to wait until the supply truck comes with their lunches.

As his lower lip started to crack he cursed his own stupidity. Why didn't he listen to his mother? She had warned him to ration his drinking so this wouldn't happen! But alas, it couldn't be helped now. He'd probably be close to dehydration by the time that truck comes. The only thing he could do is to resume work and hope for a small breeze to come and cool himself off.
Surprisingly, the man's wish came true as a gust of wind blew over the field. It was as cool as a dip in the ocean, and it smelled just like it too.

The man stood still, bewildered at this unusual phenomenon. Then he laughed to himself, happy about this uncanny coincidence. How lucky was he!

"Guess there is a guardian angel looking after me." he thought as he got back to work, humming a tune he didn't know he had never heard before. If he would have paid to listen closely, he could have heard the silent giggles of a young girl, followed by the reprimand of an annoyed male as they faded away.

    -------------

"That was an asinine thing to do and you know it!"

"Asinine? What in the name of the Sky Spirits does that mean?!"

"It means that you could have gotten yourself in a bucket load of trouble if you'd been spotted! You could've gotten a one-way ticket to an investigation laboratory where they would have dissected you in to teeny tiny little pieces in order to know what you are!"

"Will you stop blabbing into my ear all worried? It's not fun to hear, especially with the hearing I have. Besides, no one saw me or you for that matter. Invisibility, remember?"

    "No, but they could have!"

The girl gave an amused yet tired laugh. That Cornelius sure is a worry-pants at times.

The ones discussing are called Wendy and Cornelius. Nothing weird about that. Except Cornelius is a talking penguin. That's a little odd. Plus Wendy has a naturally teal hair. Getting a bit creepy. But the strangest thing of all is that they're having this many-times-before-had conversation while flying a mile above ground.

You see, Wendy is not a human. Not completely anyway. She's a descendant of a people who live in the clouds of the Earth, watching and protecting them from harm. They can't always succeed however, as you may have read newspaper articles of car crashes and wars. They're not Gods or Guardian Angels as people may call them. No, they're Skymaids.

Wendy's mother was one of them. She was banished to Earth because she fell in love with a human. That human was Wendy's dad. Wendy didn't know she was (partly) a Skymaid too until her mother told her about it two years ago, when she turned 15.

Now, when she was turning 17, she kept recalling what had happened afterwards. Traveling to Sky Palace, the home of all Skymaids, after ignoring her parents' warnings. Getting shunned by her own kind. Finding her home destroyed and her parents killed by them. Leaving Boston teary-eyed, escaping the confused police and equally as confused neighbors and family friends. Travelling the world bringing happiness to everywhere she went. Rescuing Cornelius from an ice floe on her way to South Africa.

And now flying above the Atlantic Ocean with Cornelius clinging on to her shoulder on her way to her little HQ in the Canary Islands.
These and many more memories were spinning around in her head. She tried to ignore them but she couldn't. Just when she was about to start crying...

    "WENDY!!!"

...Cornelius was kind enough to interrupt her train of thought by shouting straight in to her ear. She turned to the penguin.

"Ow, Cornelius that hurt! You're braking my concentration!"

Cornelius stared at the teal-head, worry and shock reflecting from his eyes.

"What's wrong Wendy? Is something bothering you?"

"Why would you think something's wrong?" she answered, sadness clearly visible in her voice.

"Because 1. You usually call me Coco even though I hate it, 2. You hardly ever show any other emotions other than happiness, and 3. I can tell that you're exceedingly close to shedding a tear."

Shoot that penguin is smart! He knows her too well. She gave a depressed sigh.

"You know that today's the day I turn 17?"

"Well of course I know that, but that doesn't explain why..... oh. Right."

Wendy nodded. She had told him what happened that day when she first met him. She turned to look forward, spotting her home island farther in the distance. She was a bit surprised when she felt Cornelius nudging his head to hers.

"I'm sorry Wendy. I forgot all about that incident. But if it makes you feel better, I'm sure your parents would be proud of you for everything you've ever done to other people. I know I am."

This confession made the girl's eyes widen. Cornelius had never said anything so nice, nor used a tone as soft as that.

    "Really? You mean it?"

"Is the Earth's core made of molten rock?"

Wendy couldn't help but laugh. The Smarty Tux strikes again!

"I dunno Coco, but somehow it feels quite right."

Now it was Cornelius' turn to laugh. This is the exact response he was hoping for.

Then they discovered they had reached land by nearly crashing into a building, which made them both giggle uncontrollably.

The giggling stopped when they reached the little cottage they used as a headquarters. They both landed on their bunks and began to settle down. As Wendy turned to her little nightstand to write about the day's adventure on her diary, she noticed the letter sitting on top of it. Curious as she is, she ripped it open and read the few lines it contained.

    "What's that?" Cornelius asked suspiciously.

Wendy gave him the letter. He began to read it out loud:

"We know you are not like the others of your people, and we would like to invite you to join us at Crisis Academy as one of our students. A portal will open at the center of your cottage when the sun is at it's highest point in the sky. Should you accept our offer, enter the portal, otherwise it will disappear on it's own in 10 minutes. You may bring whatever you'd like, including a pet, but no one else may follow or enter the portal for you. Signed: Headmaster Emereth"

Wendy was excited enough already but hearing what she had read come from Cornelius' beak made her squeal with delight.

"That sounds so cool! I wanna go there!" she declared.

"You are most absolutely not going there! This is obviously a trap set by someone who has seen you use your powers. They want to sell you for big money to an investigation laboratory where they will dissect you to teeny tiny little pieces..."

"Now where have I heard that before?"

    "You know what I mean."

"Aw c'mon Coco, there's no way it's a trap! See, The Academy logo looks all awesome and official and the letter paper and the envelope match the style exactly! Besides, what kind of a kidnapping person says there's gonna be a portal opening at the center of your own home?"

Cornelius was mesmerized by her inference skills. He knew this was the real deal but he couldn't let her go on this journey. His animal instinct was telling him that it would be the most exciting and dangerous thing she has ever faced in her life. But as he watched her pleading, eager-filled brown eyes he knew he had lost. He couldn't turn her head now. He sighed.

"Fine. You can go. But I'm coming with you to make sure you don't get in serious trouble."

"Oh so you're coming as my pet?"

"I'm not your pet, I'm your penguin friend whom you saved from an ice float a one and a half years ago."

"Either you're my pet or you can't come with."

    Another sigh from Cornelius.

    "Fine."

Wendy lifted him and hugged him tight while giggling.

"Thankies, Coco! You'll see, we're gonna have so much fun! and who knows, Maybe we'll meet some new friends just like us!"

"That's what I'm afraid of." Cornelius whispered to himself, knowing she wouldn't hear him through her happy laughter.

Sphynn kept his head low as he flew on the back of Rollingthunder. Speed was their focus- not comfort. Powerful strokes from Thunder's wings propelled them forward at speeds to rival the dragons themselves. The kingdom of the fireslingers unfolded under them as they sped past. It was dry and barren except for its one city and the castle. Sphynn already had bypassed the city unseen, and was now preparing to confront the king in his castle. The ominous spires were already visible in the distance.
Arriving well before sundown, Sphynn had to attempt to make a concealed camp among large rocks and very small, scrubby trees. Once he was satisfied that the camp would be easily overlooked, he unpacked a cold dinner for himself and Thunder. His place to sleep was nothing more than hard-packed red dirt and a small blanket between him and the ground. Thunder curled up next to him with his wing draped over Sphynn to blot out the moon and stars.
As morning came around, Sphynn already had the camp packed up. He and Thunder forced down more cold, tasteless food before mounting Thunder to confront his enemies in the castle. As an agent of good deeds, he felt that the fireslingers were the most cruel rulers he could think of and made them his first victims in a quest to free the world. Taking with him only a set of three daggers and his talents, he set off to attempt to reach the castle undetected. His plan was to fly a wide arc around the back of the castle.
Not more than two minutes into the flight, a fireball suddenly came streaking out of a castle window aimed directly at him! He quickly had Thunder fly upwards to avoid it, but the fireball was able to change course and track him. Sphynn decided to wait until the fireball was within 50 feet of him before instructing Thunder to perform a complex loop. Holding on for dear life, his plan worked, with the fireball inches from his long hair. The closeness of this made Sphynn wonder if there was a way to use his power to stop the fireball. He couldn't withdraw the oxygen around the caster because he didn't know where he was, so he decided to draw water vapor all around the fireball. The next one was immediately extinguished, but he still had to bat away the small pebble that flew on towards him. Deflecting and extinguishing these projectiles took up all of his concentration, so Thunder had to fly on for him.
As they neared the castle, Sphynn was tired out. He knew it was only a matter of time before he would become too tired to block these and he would die at the hands of the fireslingers. Since his tactics were only protecting himself, he had to come up with a plan to kill the fireslingers. Since he only had three daggers, he decided his powers would be the best way to accomplish this. His thoughts went to the opposite of extinguishing the fireballs. This wouldn't help him dodge them, but he thought that if he condensed nitrogen inside the castle the fireball would trigger an explosion inside. Quickly instructing Thunder to get nearer, he prepared his thoughts while trying to block the fireballs already coming towards him. As soon as he knew the castle was in his range, he drew upon the power and directed the chamber to be filled with nitrogen and to have all other elements to leave. Knowing the next fireball was only a few seconds away, he waited as Thunder flew near the castle keeping in range of Sphynn's power.
KABOOM! Sphynn and Thunder were thrown backwards into the air for a massive distance. Thunder finally regained his flight as Sphynn had miraculously held on. Satisfied with the remaining bricks of the castle scattered around, he directed Thunder to get out of there as fast as he could. No sooner had Thunder turned around, Thunder suddenly ran into a solid wall of air. He couldn't turn around or go forward, backward, up, or down. Without Thunder trying, he was suddenly lowered to the ground and the pair was immediately tied up. A gruff voice behind them spoke softly,
"Your past actions have given you an invitation. Crisis academy takes up people like you with any supernatural talents, and if you refuse the invitation, you die."

Once the boat had went as far as it could go, Tristan was awakened by Will call for him on the deck of the ship. "I'm coming, I'm coming," Tristan moaned groggily, and dragged his feet up the wooden stairs and into the afternoon light. The whole ship was bathed in the setting sun's golden light and a wave of happiness rushed over him.

"We're finally hear and your down there snoozin'. You sure this is what you want?" Will question him.

Tristan simply nodded and headed for the ramp that led to the sandy beach below.

"You gonna just leave your old man behind without saying goodbye?"

Tristan stopped, turned around, and a grin spread across his lips. "Goodbye, pops," he said contently, and embraced Will tighter than he ever could. Even though they almost never saw things eye to eye, Will did everything he could for the boy, and Tristan still loved him with all his heart.

"I'll miss you boy. And you too, ya little behemoth!" he laughed toward Ereth who yawned carelessly and turned his head toward the falling sun.

"Hey Tristan, it's getting late. We better get going," Ereth said. Tristan looked down at him, then up at the sun that was sinking back into the ocean. "Yeah, you're right. We better get going."

Once they said there goodbyes, Tristan started for the academy with Ereth closely behind him. They trudged through the sandy beach who's pure white sand turned into dirt and eventually uneven slopes that was littered with boulders and scarce mountainous vegetation.

"Are we almost there?" Ereth wailed.

"Shut up Ereth, you're not even walking. I can leave you here if you'd like," Tristan snapped back to Ereth who was now is Tristan's knapsack with only his little black and blue head poking out, snug as can be.

"Well I was just asking. I was just hoping you realized it's night--"

"I said shut up Ereth," Tristan cut him off. "You don't think I can't see that for myself? I'm not stopping! We can't afford to stop, and that's the end of..." Tristan's voice started to trail off. He stopped suddenly in his tracks and his little pet fox could tell something was wrong. Ereth cowardly dug his whole body into Tristan's bag.

"Looks like someones here to play," Tristan whispered to Ereth who was shivering away in his sack. He didn't hear him though because of the silent fear that screamed in his ears.

(((Very nice posts! I've added a rule and expanded a tiny bit upon Crisis Academy's description in the main post. If you have already posted with your character in a different world than Eda, the portals some, if not all, of you have incorporated in your posts can take you to Eda.)))

Seprix awoke with a start as the boat hit the other side of the shore from the lake. He looked around his surroundings. The Academy could be seen in the distance! Seprix's heart jumped at the sight. He quickly rushed out of the boat, but he ended up tripping into the water in his haste. Quickly lunging out of the clear water for fear of the horrid creatures, Seprix began wringing his clothing, freezing from the soaking. Noticing a random flicker of movement, he turned around to notice the boat wasn't there! It was on the other side of the lake.

After puzzling for a short time, Seprix continued his trek to the Crisis Academy on foot. It was a long ways away, and he soon got tired from his trudging. He sat down on a large rock, and started thinking about what he would do when he got into the Academy itself. Suddenly, the rock started moving, and Seprix jumped with a start. His blade Death's Edge materialized out of the air into his hand, and the shadowy blade cut the rock clean in half. Seprix put down the sword, and started laughing. He was sitting on a turtle-like creature, which was now slain on the ground. Seprix retracted Death's Edge back to whence it came, and shaking himself, continued on his travels to the Academy.

(((Can I ask something? Do we have to describe the happenings of only the area we first appear or do we have to describe everything that happens until we reach the Academy? In latter case I really wish someone would make a map of Eda or something 'cause I'm having trouble perceiving where the places are in relation to CA.)))

(((PS. Satix, I think you should update the Dorms list so that anyone else applying to the Academy doesn't have to have a guessing game with the available dorms.)))
