I'm genuinely curious as to how many artists on here use custom brushes on their art programs! Also do you make the brushes themselves or do you find them somewhere else and download them? I've tried using custom brushes before but it always feels so weird to me not being in my comfort zone of extremely smooth lineart. The only custom brushes I use are patterns like stars or hearts.
I use custom brushes! I have one to sketch (that Serena-chan told me about), two for watercolor, lots of others that I can't name right now... I guess I just love using them. Also idk if that counts, but recently I took an already existing brush image (since that's how they work on FireAplaca) but made my own settings.
I really enjoy making brushes! It used to be a hobby back when I was first starting out with digital art. I've only got one from way back then, it's a splatter brush I made with real ink on paper that I scanned in. I have some texture brushes, sparkle brushes and rain brushes that I use a bunch!
I used a couple of different custom brushed on FA for effects mostly, I need to find a few for csp, I want all the effects!
When I first had Sai, there were some custom brushes in there thanks to a friend that gave me their download. I messed up, thought it got corrupted transferring to a new laptop, and deleted it. Another friend gave me a Sai download without custom brushes.. I kinda miss the custom ones..
i dont use custom brushes because i dont even know how to get them on clip studio hh but i dont really see a huge need for them?? most custom brushes are texture based or something fancy and i just like the super bold and crisp lines the basic brushes provide..... that being said my art is done with like 2-3 different brushes lmao and theyre all the default ones csp gave me im a winner
i feel i use the default pen on firealpaca. i never use anything else LOL. if i do its just for patterns.
