Blinking as he felt a pressure against his shoulder, Rai turned to face the source of the pressure unable to stop his eyebrow raising as he took in the Braixen behind him. Hearing her question, Rai frowned before crossing his arms. "Of course," he replied gruffly, "Is there an issue you need me to take care off, miss?"
Blaire paused comically just for a moment. "What? N-no, nothing like that," she said. "I just figured, you know, while you're waiting, we could talk." But now that she was there, she couldn't think of anything to say. "So... how're your first few weeks as a guard?"
Pondering the question, Rai just shrugged. "They've been fine, if not quiet." Scratching the scar along his chin, he murmured lowly, "although I suppose that's how you want them to go." Shaking the thought away, Rai placed a barely passable smile on his face, "How's.. Uh... Whatever it is you do, I confess I'm still learning who everyone else."
Blaire shrugged, scratching at her chin a bit. "I write the newspaper and distribute it," she said. "Though, to be honest, I haven't had much to write about." She chuckled a bit, tugging at a patch of fur. "Funny, huh? I guess I never really introduced myself. I'm Blaire."
Mystle chuckled at the interactions between the Zorua and the Vulpix. "Appetites of all sorts must be gratified, I suppose." he thought to himself and looked at the other Pokémon. "They're a lively bunch, alright." "Ah, yes! If you could recycle those things for me from time to time I would be very much obliged~!" Mystle said happily and then looked as though realizing something. "Is there any reason why you chose to set up this Recycle Shop? Or simply because you're a savvy salesman?" As he saw the Guildmaster pass by, he gave him a respectful nod and smiled.
"Well... uh... anyways," Zachary grinned, finishing the rest of his meal with a couple of bites. He playfully swatted at Eira and replied, "Well, someone has to promote the Cafe, so why not me?" He knew he made that part up just now, but he felt that a little humor would help after Ignatius left. "Oh, right, the Recycle Shop! I mean, anyone's welcome to use it, although I wouldn't mind giving you a heads up when I have some more medical items in stock." The Zorua gave Mystle a little wink, and continued. "But uh... as for the reason why I started this shop... I guess you could say that I'm more of an overtly organized Pokémon. At least, that's what I've been told." Zachary watched a couple of other Pokémon converse with each other, mainly Blaire and the Electabuzz, and added, "For the guild being pretty new, everyone seems to really be getting along, huh?"
"Organised, you say? Quite the useful mindset. I still often lose my things if I'm not careful." Mystle giggled awkwardly as he thought of his messy cabinets. "And I'd love it if you'd give me a heads up! You'd be surprised how quickly my stock of medicine is depleted!" Mystle then followed the Zorua's gaze towards the other Pokémon. "Yes, quite! I think it's a wonderful thing for so many Pokés to get together like this... Truly wonderful indeed..." he said with a serene smile. At that moment, Mystle's stomach began to growl and he began laughing awkwardly. He then turned towards the Vulpix. "Excuse me, miss? Could I have two portions of Pecha pie, please? One for me and one for Zachary." Mystle said and placed the money on the table. "It's my treat," he added with a wink.
"No need to get up, sis. I can handle it for now." Kai had walked up to thhem after handing over Klimat's food to him and took the money Mystle had laid down. "Just relax and have a talk, and make sure that Zach goes to do his job soon." Eira just nodded at her brother, a small smile ghosting around her lips as she saw him walk back to the counter and serve some more Pokémon. She then turned back to the two males at the table, picking up the conversation. "This is what we wanted. A community where Pokémon can live in peace and harmony with each other. I mean, yes, we have hired Mr. Klimat and Mr. Rai to help us out with Pokémon that are not out to help us, but the baddies have been far and wide. I just hope this will last for a long while." The snowy fox spoke softly. Her brother came back quickly with the pie slices and also set one in front of her. She looked like she wanted to protest, but he gave her a glare. "You skipped breakfast. So eat, we have a long day ahead. Mr. Mystle, please make sure she eats all of it and that Zachery leaves her plate alone." Kai requested of the Phantump, before running back to the bar.
((I keep noticing that some of you keep adding an "l" to Kimat's name. I'm not mad or anything, but Idt appreciate it if you spelled his name correctly in the future )) When his food finally arrived, Kimat ate quickly. Normally, he'd eat at a less-frantic pace, but his hunger made him eat feverishly. He devoured the Apricorn in a matter of minutes. His hunger sated, Kimat turned his attention to the café at large. He was never the best at listening in to conversations, but his head cocked when he heard his name from another table. That group mentioned how he and Rai kept the town safe. That got Kimat's thoughts churning. His job was to keep the town - and, by extension, the Guild - safe from harmful outside forces. These Pokémon depended on him to keep the peace, to let them survive. Their lives, in a way, were on his shoulders. He couldn't let them down. With the Guildmaster absent, someone must take the lead. Kimat strode over to Rai and Blaire, renewed with determination. "When the Guildmaster leaves," the Absol asked Blaire, "who is the next in charge?"
Blaire looked behind her, shocked at Kimat's sudden question. He was certainly eager to know. Though initially disgruntled, she straightened her back and breathed in, adopting a more formal attitude almost immediately. "In the Guildmaster's absence, his next of kin will take charge," she answered shortly. Why would he ask this, specifically now? She remembered the conversation she, Eira, Kai, and Zachary had with the Guildmaster before: that he was strong, and eager to prove it. "The next of kin, of course, are Eira and Kai. You need not worry," she clarified. She adopted an analyzing gaze, though never lost her sweet smile.
Kimat blinked, genuine disbelief appearing on his face. "You mean to tell me that if Ignatius leaves for an extended period, he leaves the Guild in the hands of a pair of kids?" Granted, Blaire's explanation claimed the Vulpix twins were the Guildmaster's own children, but that didn't matter in Kimat's mind. How could a pair of kids be strong enough - physically or otherwise - to bear the burden of leadership? He glanced over at the bar, where Eira and Kai were busy working, his brow furrowed. It was unlikely that Ignatius ever left the Guild for a long time, but Kimat's gut told him this excursion would likely be an exception. "Are they really capable of leading the Guild on their own?" Kimat turned his gaze back to Blaire. "Don't give me the answer you want me to hear, tell me what you really think."
"I think you are being rude, Kimat." Eira had overheard the Absol talking to Blaire while she had been eating and was now standing at their table with narrowed eyes and a cold aura surrounding her. The Alolan Vulpix was clearly agitated and it was showing. "You have no room to judge our strength and capabilities. You have not seen us fight, nor have you seen us lead. We trekked the same roads as you did to come here and we are still alive. You do not know what we have been through. Mama and Papa disappeared and we had to take care of ourselves until the guild master came for a visit. Do not judge us just for being young." She snarled.
Zachary blushed slightly when Mystle offered to pay for some Pecha Pie, and said, "Heh heh... thank you!" After taking a few minutes to eat, he started to notice that an Absol - Kimat, he though was his name - started getting rather loud while talking to Blaire. He watched as Eira started to speak rather irritatedly about something the Absol had said. "Huh," Zachary mumbled as he finished his slice of Pecha Pie. He started to reach over towards Eira's abandoned slice, and began snacking on that as well. "I've only seen Eira act this way a couple of times, and it didn't really end well most of the time," the Zorua whispered quiet enough just so Mystle could hear. He kept on eating Eira's slice of Pecha Pie, though, as he felt too amused to do anything else.
While blake was still having a small conversation with Angeni, he could help but overhear a rather grouchy Absol, who was currently being yelled at by Eira. "Yeesh, is that absol usually so... negative?" Blake asked Angeni. "Him and I never really talked, so I dont know much about him. I know he helps the town and all, but thats pretty much it."
"I haven't spoke with him before, so I can't really say.." Angeni watched, upset and a tad frightened that a fight would break out. Muni watched without a word, listening in on the two.He decided that if a fight was to break out, he would intervene.
Mystle raised an eyebrow at the behaviour of the rude Dark-type and Zachary's explanation. "Is that so? Well, I can't say I blame her." he told the Zorua. Granted, the Vulpix didn't seem all that old, but to insult them like this was completely uncalled for. "Perhaps you ought to hold your tongue, sir, if you want to receive any medical care in the near future." Mystle told Kimat with slight annoyance in his voice. "You're the elder one compared to them, aren't you? I suggest you act your age; it is most undignified to behave so arrogantly." Mystle had been treated kindly by Eira and her brother, and he would not allow someone to insult them merely because of their age.
Perturbed at the sudden increase in tension, Rai glanced at Kimat with a frown. "I believe that's enough, I trust in the Guildmaster's choice as should you." He stated gruffly, his eyes narrowing and his jaw beginning to clench in annoyance, "Besides we're here to help them with protecting the guild, their strength is not an issue." Glaring at the rest in the room who had begun to get involved, Rai ordered: "As for the rest of you, go back to enjoying yourselves, there is no reason for you all to be involved." Returning his gaze to Kimat, Rai raised his eyebrow questioning, "Now what's with this sudden questioning?"
"You certainly have a fighter's spirit, but idle words mean nothing to me." Kimat was surprised at the intensity words that came out of his mouth, but the logical side of him seemed distant. Eira's sudden outburst, coupled with the sudden attention from nearly everyone in the cafe, riled up the instinctual fighter within the Absol. "Unless you have the strength to back them up, that is." He tensed, not due to being the center of attention, but in anticipation. He adopted an analytical gaze - the look of a hunter sizing up its prey. It had been so long since he'd faced a suitable challenge. So very, painfully long. He wanted to savor this. NO! Kimat roared in his mind. The last thing you want to do is fight the Guildmaster's daughter! His internal battle manifested as a twitch of his head. In that moment of stillness, Kimat's reason regained control of his muscles, his fierce stare and slightly crouched posture relaxing away. His eyes widened as the realization of what he'd done hit him. "Way to go, idiot," the Absol grumbled to himself, hanging his head low. Making enemies out of the Guild was never his intention, but it seemed he'd done exactly that. Rai's interjection gave Kimat a moment to collect himself. The Electabuzz's logic was sound. "You're right," he spoke up to Eira, "I have no ground to judge you on." He averted his gaze. "Not yet," he added quietly. He gave Rai a look that said "I'll tell you later" as he returned to his secluded seat in the cafe, feeling - for the first time in a while - shame.
Eira relaxed as she watched Kimat walk out of the guild. The way he had crouched told her he had been itching for a fight and she really didn't want to fight in the guild. Kai had been keeping an eye on her and Kimat, prepared to help her in an instant. Now that it was over he had returned to helping out the costumers that were still ordering food and drinks. She turned to the large Electabuzz and spoke softly. "Thank you for helping me out, Mr. Rai. If a fight had broken out someone might have gotten hurt." Eira looked at the Electabuzz with a small smile, the tension leaving her small body as she spoke. "Could you keep him out of the guild until Great uncle Ignatius returns from his trip? I don't think it is wise to have another confrontation any time soon." The snowy fox requested.
Muni relaxed slightly, watching as Angeni approached the Ice-type Vulpix. "Are you ok?" She frowned, worried over what she just witnessed.
