I just picked up this anime and I'm in love with it! Death Note is really cool so far. Anyone else who watches it? Feel free to discuss it here! But beware of spoilers, I'm sure people will post them. ;)

    (( Anime, not Manga. :D ))

I've never watched it, though this is the one that I've been thinking of trying for a really long time. In fact, I don't know why I haven't already.

Actually, yes I do. I'm always scared with animes that I'll accidentally run into something with a ton of sex and stuff... Yeah...

From the looks of it, Death Note seems really cool. The main character has a snazzy name too. I might also start watching it, and my friend recommends it so I'll probably pick it up after exams.

The anime's great up until episode 25, and then it takes a serious hit in terms of plot and source material accuracy. It's a bit sad what they did to it after taking so much time and care to get those first twenty-five episodes right.

I've watched the first four episodes, and it's...I love it. I finally got it from Netflix after hearing all this good stuff, and I guess those people meant it when they said it's good. :D

I've watched this show multiple times now. It's just really, really good.

It's a good show. There isn't a single episode that I can really call "boring". It's a good series.

A fantastic Anime. I have the App on my phone. Every time I come across someone I hate, I write their name in the book... I'm not insane, I promise!

I watched the anime about 2 years ago, and It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen, I never knew that mental battles could be fought like that just watching the anime makes you feel smart knowing that everything the characters do makes sense and going to unimaginable odds to get each other.

I read the first volume of the manga (black edition) and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a interesting concept, haven't gotten around to reading anymore of it.

I remember watching the anime a good few years ago now, and possibly got up to episode 19 or 20? I've never finished watching it, but it seems to be a good suspense anime. I wonder how does it compare to the manga.

Can't say I'm going to immediately jump on the band wagon here, I'd like to mention a few things.

Death Note, overall was a good anime; it's good traits outshine his bad traits, but still it has it's own array of problems.

    *****WARNING, SPOILERS FOLLOW THIS POINT.********
First off, Let's talk about Characters. The cast of characters overall were pretty good, though there was a few people I feel as if were just thrown in there for absolutely no reason at all.

For example, let's take Matt and Mello. Matt served Literaly no purpose other than to be a sacrificial plot device, hands down.

Mello, on the other hand is not as bad, but still his character seems to just be there to compliment Near. I feel like Mello could have been an absolutely amazing character; they had all the groundwork for him to be; but I can't seem to shake off the feeling his character was just rushed. They could have done so much better than what they did with him.

Moving on, the storyline. The storyline was overall very good an unique in it's own right, albeit some small flaws we can overlook for the sake of this discussion.

But even so. There are a couple things that I feel were kinda forced. Let's take a look at the ending.

Alright, so. We have Near and co. along with Light and co. Now, seems like a pretty typical showdown if you ask me. Not nessasarily a bad thing.

Let's take a look at the location for a quick second. Light is smart enough to have seen right through that. He would have known to choose a place with multiple entrances, or at the very least a window. If it were not for that fact, he would not have ended up how he did.

Moving on, the main point here. This is where the BS kicks in. When Near swapped the Notebook in the bank teller machine, Light, again, should have seen right through that. He's not stupid enough to have fell for something as simplistic as swapping a notebook. Hell, Light worked as the head of the police force, Tricked L, who, mind you, was the top 3 detectives in the world, at the same time.

Yet he fell for that easily.

It just seemed forced in my opinion. They could have made it more intricate.

But hey, just my opinion. Death Note is still a good anime/manga, and it will always be one of my favourites. Although, I will not just indefinitely agree it was a 'Flawless' or 'Perfect' anime; nothing is, and by far I've seen worse. Just decided to pop my two cents in.

The most important series of my life. The crazy 13 year old girls of the fandom cast aside, it's an incredible series. It's one of the few anime series I can watch more than once.

Update: I still love this series so much

I've rewatched it, REWATCHED IT, seven times at this point.

If you haven't seen Death Note, please watch it. The fandom is terrible, but the series itself is just amazing.
