Oh boy. This thing irritates me quite a bit sometimes, especially when I'm looking forward to a game a ton (I'm looking at you Star Fox Zero and Legend of Zelda WiiU).

I recognize that they are trying to make the games better in some cases, but it's just... annoying. Also, it seems to typically be Nintendo and their partner branches. Hm...

As you know, sometimes game companies feel the need to extend the release date for a game, whether it be for production purposes, or for monetary purposes. For example, the original delay of Star Fox Zero was announced by Nintendo to be a delay because they felt they could make enough money during the holiday season with Splatoon and Super Mario Maker. Since then, they have started adding new things to Star Fox Zero, which is making me feel a little bit better about waiting.

Are there any games that you want that should've been released, but aren't released yet? What do you think about extended release dates? Do you hate it? Do you not mind? Would you refuse to buy a game if the release date was delayed?

OMG, don't even get me started on this.

OK, so Japan got Fire Emblem Fates in June of 2015, the US got it in February of 2016, and Europe/Australia (i.e. ME) still haven't got it, with a planned release for May of 2016. What I don't understand is why, specifically for the gap between US and EU/AUS. I mean, I can see how a game like Fire Emblem, with it's extensive dialogue needing to be translated into English and the removal of skin-shipping, but I don't understand why it's taking so long for the game to release in Europe/Australia from the US. I mean, if the US has it it's already in English, right? Then just stick it on a European game card, put it in a box, get it on that damn boat and send it over, geez!

Unless they're re-integrating skin-shipping into the EU/AUS release, which I find highly unlikely, I don't see any real reason for this extra 3 month delay.

I don't remember the last time a game I wanted badly got delayed but I can understand the frustration as someone who really gets hyped up about stuff. You wait and wait until it's almost release date and then all of a sudden you have to wait even more. I can see how that would get obnoxious. I do think that companies try their hardest to not delay games but with Star Fox Zero I thought they said they wanted to address some graphical complaints and that they weren't satisfied with the game in general and that they wanted to add more. I hadn't heard about the money issue. I guess we just have to trust the companies to know what they're doing.

I've actually had quite a few times where a game I wanted very badly got delayed. Well of course the newest Final Fantasy game I believe it's XIV? I'm not exactly sure. But I remember first hearing about it and getting hyped for it. I was extremely excited for it this year only to hear it's possibly release date is 2017. There's also been several other games in the past I've wanted in the past that have been delayed I can't think of which ones. I also heard that Zelda U was supposed to be delayed which I was quite excited for. This is slightly off topic but still somewhat related. Another thing I hate is when you're waiting for a game and the release is nearby but they haven't given a definite date yet (Yeah I'm look at you God Eater). Although I understand that they have to delay a game so it doesn't turn out looking like Heroes of Ruin (The glitches in the game are insanely real. Funny. But quite obnixious at times.) Honestly I'd rather have to tough it out a little longer for a release date then have a game quickly made with many glitches and bad gameplay/plot. I wouldn't refuse to buy it if it was delayed since I usually wait a while after the game comes out anyway because the price tends to go down anyway after the release.
