Ok let me make a summary about what we have covered 1. Sound base moves are now sound type 2. good against psychic, steel, ground 3. week against flying 4. weak to flying, electric, steel 5.Cannot damage Pokémon with soundproof Unsure. Bug, Dragon, Fighting, rock
I say we should make Bug completely neutral both ways with it. Same with Dragon and Fighting. For Rock, make both resist each other. I think that is how those should work. Also having Ground resist Sound is a good idea in my opinion, but it isn't necessary. Sound needs more than one resistance, so make it resist Fairy, since Fairies are usually too small to make much sound, and Fairy is one of the best types currently. It could also resist itself, but I wouldn't recommend that.
Being scientifically accurate is something I think is needed, so I suggest making its attacks super-effective against Fire-types and Fire-type attacks should deal less damage against it since Sound can put out fires. It generates air velocity which thins out the air around the fire according to this page: https://indianapublicmedia.org/amomentofscience/sound-fire/ I'm not down with the Sound-type being strong against Ground though, but I am down for making Rock resist Sound. I'm not sure why Sound should resist Rock-types in any way though. I feel like Bug should be able to resist it but at the same time I can't think of a reason why it should. I think it doesn't need to resist Fairy, its already got 3 types that resist it, namely Fire, Poison, and Steel. Maybe Sound should resist something else instead? Definitely not itself, in my opinion.

I've got another one for the list... Possibly. Grass whistle? Should it stay grass, or be sound? Or maybe both like flying press?
I feel like that one should stay Grass type It's already affected by Soundproof anywhozzles, and it has Grass in the name XD
I considered that one, but decided it should stay grass. Same with Metal Sound being Steel and a few others that I felt should stay the same element they already are.
That was another one I considered while making my list, but ultimately decided against. Kommo-o should get STAB from the move and while it would make sense for that evolution line to be Sound-type, i didn't think they should lose their Dragon or Fighting-types. Of course, that's just my opinion. If anyone else want to make them Sound then that's fine too.
I agree with ShireHime, scientific accuracy is definitely needed. Since sound is, at its core, nothing more than a pressure wave, it would disrupt fire. But to add something new to the conversation, I propose giving ice another resistance, due to the fact that the less dense a material, the more trouble a pressure wave has going through it.
I think we should make all normal sound based moves into sound type and other non normal sound based moves add sound type to it like the case of flying press
Flying Press is meant to be very special in that way. I think we should make one at most like that. As for the Kommo-o line, I think sound works better on them than Fighting. I don't believe the move or Z-move should change types though.
Let's think of some new Sonic type moves/abilities/etc. I remember someone suggesting "Surround Sound" as a move. What do you think it should do? Any other moves/abilities and such to suggest?
That way Technician won't make it overpowered, but it won't be too strong on it's own. Or we could make it 80 power and make it base 40 on Protect.
