Ailani is a Hawaiian girl name that means "High chief" and it's a fitting name that I figured I should give my first caught Pokémon: An Alolan Vulpix! =o
I'm naming all my fossils after Star Wars characters. Unfortunately I already named my Meowth Vader, but I can always change that later.
I just remembered this: Yes, I try to make Final Fantasy references in each Azelf nickname, which in turn is a derivation on the phrase "Blue Triangle Head". It's a really old LV meme, before you ask. We were trying to figure out how to advertise LV in real life, and we came up with Blue Triangle Head.
I'm not sure what's so appealing about words that are mostly vowels. Unless, of course, you plan to name all of your buddies after the various types of lava.
I mean, it's rather difficult to explain the appeal behind certain names as it's all rather subjective, don't you think? Also, for Malie: Among other things but none of them lava-related o.o
I joke about that because the Hawaiian language has somewhere around a dozen different words for lava, and all of them expressing different types of lava (like its temperature, consistency, appearance, things like that). It's beautiful in its own little way. I think vulcanologists use those words themselves to describe the lava types.
I named my Combusken Ignis, which I'm pretty sure means fire in Latin. And I named my Piplup Pingu, after the character from the best kids show ever a kids show.
I usually just name my Pokémon something random that pops into my head, or after Pokémon I've used in the games.
Your Combusken Name Remain Me Of A Character With The Same Name In Final Fantasy. Now Talking About Star Wars,Do You Know That There Is A Moon On The Solar System That Have The Similar To Death Star?
Sure I do. For example, my armor fossil is named Amour after Amourshipping (plus amour sounds like armor so eh) I dont even have to explain "Lord Helix." Delelele woop is just...Delelele woop.
In reference to my newest catches, I still have placeholder names for the 3 Regi Buddies, as I haven't solidly decided on names for any of them (except for Regice). I named two Staryu I captured near to each other after two of my friends on LV, as I knew I'd never really have a good opportunity to do that otherwise.
I named my Aerodactly Cretaceous, the time period in which pterodactyls lived in, my two castforms, Hail-lee and Cascadith are puns based on their own forms, I nicknamed my Beedrill 'Pikachu' after the Pokémon Rusty Series, lastly my Shinx was named Sidekick, because my partner in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon was a Shinx.
I like that you can nickname the captured trainers. I think I've given them appropriate names so far.
