Did You Name A Pokemon After Something?

Oh, I didn't even know that you can nickname trainers XD. I just caught a fishermen, what do you think I should call him? (If it was even possible to nickname a trainer after cacthing one.)

You can.
On the name of a captured Buddy, there should be a little icon that looks like a pen and a square (like writing on a piece of paper). Clicking that lets you rename your Buddy, and after you type in the name, hit Enter to confirm.
You can change the name as often as you'd like. Sometimes when I want to name something, I just leave a placeholder name until I decide on it for real.

I named all of my easter eggs after how I interpreted the patterns. Until I got too many then I stopped. I'm tempted just to keep the egg names though when they hatch.

 

A number of my eggs and mons are now named after various members across the site who I consider friends!

 

My Togepi's name ended up being "Easter Egg" after it hatched. I think I might just leave its name like that.

 

I named my shinx, Simba after a obvious reason; Simba from The Lion King.

 

I actually haven't been nicknaming my Pokémon since I've started catching them in large quantities. I might need to go back through later and do that.

 

I nickname all of my Pokémon. Usually they consist of puns, or names of character's that own them as well. For example, I named my new Male Ralts "Wally"

 

I named my shiny Sentret Felix, which is the first name of PewDiePie. The reason I named my Sentret this is because Pewds is one of my favourite YouTubers and he always makes me laugh when I'm feeling down. I thought I'd would be nice to name such a special Pokémon after him

 

I always name snorlax your mom for some reason.

 

I'm not sure why I did this, but I did. Is it a terrible idea or an amazing one?

 

My Snivy, Swablu, Fletchling and my Surskit are all named after types of cookies. Florentine, Sablé, Palmier and Madeleine.
EDIT: I know Madeleine is a type of cake, but it's small and flat enough that if I'm stretching it, I can call it a cookie. Fight me.

 

I named my shiny Tynamo 'Ozzy' because I was listening to Black Sabbath when I caught it.
My Mew is named Papa Franku in honour of Filthy Frank (RIP).
I also have a few Pokémon with names related to Pewds and co. My shiny Kabuki Furfrou 'Marzia', and my shiny Diglett 'Brad 2' for example.

 

I named this Amaura S A I L because it was a sail fossil and it reminded me of the song called sail
