I'm wondering if anybody here has been watching the Digimon Adventures reboot that started this year. I personally haven't watched it yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. I want to see how they balance the nostalgia of the original series with the technological advances that have been made in the past twenty years, since a huge part of digimon is that they're digital monsters.
I was skeptical when the series was announced, mostly because the franchise has been focusing so much on the original Adventure timelines that I've just gotten sick of it. However, I was willing to give the series the benefit of the doubt, and boy did it deliver. The animation is amazing. The new story direction manages to reuse old concepts in new ways while making the whole thing feel fresh. Each episode leaves me craving more and wondering just what they're going to do next. I could probably just go on and on about every change that they've made so far and how much I love every aspect of this series, but I'll try and spare you the rant. Suffice it so say, Digimon Adventure: is easily my favorite anime of the year so far and is shaping up to be my favorite Digimon anime since Tamers.
