So this will be a place to talk about any digimon game. World, Story, spin-offs, mobile games, ect.
Digimon, unlike Pokémon, is mainly a pet-raising sim, akin to Nintendogz in which you have to tend to them, feed them, take them to the bathroom, and train them. Over the years the tending has taken a back seat to battling as they noticed Pokémon's popularity-but it is still there.
From the original V-Pets (Tamogatchi style toys) to the recent Cyber Sleuths: Hacker's Memory, and even the new Appmon side-universe, feel free to talk about them. Recent playthroughs, thoughts on games, ect!

I enjoy Digimon, however have only played 2 games: Digimon World: Dusk and Digimon: Links.
Digimon Links is a mobile game that suffers from 'pay to win' issues but can be enjoyable to non-paying players if they do not mind the slower growth. It still shows some pet tending, as you have to feed and watch your digimon's stamina while fighting onslaughts of digimon to slowly re-build the digital world.
Digimon Links, sadly, is down right now (and has been for almost 7-8 days) thanks to a hacker ruining the server that held it's data (and the data for 32 other games as well). There is a chance that this game may never open again due to this attack, and it's upsetting.
In Links I prided over my Taomon, Growlmon, Wargreymon, Shinegreymon, Lucemon, and Dorugamon, among 20+ others.

Digimon World: Dusk is my first Digimon game, and is comparatively one of the few Digimon games that acts the most like a Pokémon game. Dusk, and it's opposite, Dawn, are the best games for a Pokémon player to start with if they want to try Digimon. Dusk/Dawn are RPGs with some references to the pet-sim tending, although you can go about the game without ever doing it. In this game, there is a story although there are obvious flaws, questions, and even some grammar errors (for example, the game will call you 'he' no matter your gender). Unlike many other RPGs, your level does NOT matter in the slightest- it's all stats only. You can, theoretically, win the game with baby digimon at level 1 if their stats are high enough (the last Tamer Rank battle has 2 baby digimon and 1 mega, for crying out loud!). Despite these flaws and issues, Dusk/Dawn can be very fun if you don't mind grinding and digivolving/degenerating often.
My planned final team for Dusk is Dianamon, Beelezemon, Cherubimon (Evil), Justimon, Ravemon, and Diaboromon/Armageddemon (not sure, Armageddemon would be a last minute digivolution if I decided on him)

The only Digimon game I've played is Digimon World for PlayStation and I remember really enjoying it even if getting to the requirements you wanted to get the better Digimons was far from easy to reach. I've been thinking about trying out newer World games since the one I played was just the first one so I guess how stuff is done have probably improved over the years. I have heavily considered trying out Cyber Sleuths: Hacker's Memory since it looks interesting enough and I haven't really heard anything bad about it so why not give it a try when my money allows it.

I love! These games! I've only played the console ones, which are Digimon World for PS1, Digimon World 4, Digimon All-Star Rumble (which is ridiculously hard), both Cyber Sleuth games and then Digimon World: Next Order which I honestly think is my favourite yet?

As someone who has been a fan of Digimon more or less from the beginning, I'm so glad that they've returned to make games for home consoles rather than portables, and that they're getting western releases too.

@SawstheSawsbuck Yes, several digimon are very adorable! It's all on personal taste, although several can agree that certain other ones aren't the best to look at (I'm calling you out, Sukamon, Garbagemon..).
Due to Digimon having a much larger rooster of characters compared to Pokémon (They had over 1000 in 2016) some are complete recolors of other digimon. Agumon, for example, has around 5 different variations)

I've never played a Digimon game before, but I have watched some of the original anime.
I really love the designs of a lot of Digimon, especially those that look really 'badass' in my eyes. Some of my favourite Digimon are Antylamon, Garudamon, Gomamon, Ikkakumon, Zudomon, and Vikemon. (Hope I spelt their names right. Lol)

UPDATE: Digimon Links is back online! In compensation of the 14-day shut down, all players that had accounts before the downtime will obtain 1000 Digistones, 100 of each Digivolution Fuels, 3 Gourmet Meat, 300000 Clusters, and 300 BP.

Thanks to these I managed to get WarGreymon, Lucemon Fallout Mode, 2 (extra!) Ravemon, Ravemon Burst Mode, Justimon, Kuzuhamon (which I just learned of last night!), and several other Megas, Ultimates, and Champions! (as well as a handful of new Rookies too!)
Although my gaming priories have shifted to Digimon Dusk, I'm happy to see my 3D Digimon again instead of Dusk's animated sprites.
Edit: Here is the full list!
I got coredramon blue, ravemon burst mode, rapidmon (golden armor digivolve), 2 ravemon (and I already had 1), justimon, kuzuhamon, wargreymon, black weregurumon, lucemon fallout mode, lillamon, metaltryannymon, 2 wargrowlmon, mamemon, machgaogamon, whamon, dorugreymon, chinrinmon, shakkoumon, cannonbeemon, gigadramon, garudamon, Okuwamon, infermon, megakabuterimon, 2 meramon, 2 peckmon, veggiemon, platinumsukamon, 2 devimon, sorcerermon, Kuwagamon, clockmon, 2 black garurumon, 2 blue greymon, wormmon, 2 renamon, veemon, 2 falcomon, Biyomon, 2 demidevimon, 2 tentomon, 3 palmon, terriermon, gomamon, 2 goblinmon, 2 gotsumon, Keramon, kudamon, gulimon, gabumon, gazimon, 2 gaomon, elecmon, impmon, And armadillomon

Nearing the end of Digimon Dusk, and discovered a interesting little thing- One of the bosses, GrandDracmon, requests 100,000 bits (currency) from you. You can pay him, if you have enough, and bypass his fight, AND get a one of a kind weapon to give your digimon (the Kowloon Blade). I probably could have used the EXP more, but whatever. :o ..Also I was having intense difficulty with Mummymon's Aptitude so I had little to no other choice but to put in a AR code to max Aptitude to 99. It's not game breaking as you still have to grind the levels, it just removes the need to degenerate. Nonetheless I'm still a bit upset with myself for resorting to a cheat code (not part of the game, like the Legendary weapons).
I'm a Gold Rank Tamer now, and my team is
Crescemon (just needs 2 more level ups)
Diaboromon (Mega, I'm not going to go for Armageddemon as that requires a digimon to be level 81)
Crowmon (just needs 4 more level ups)
Antylamon (needs 30 more level ups)
Mummymon (needs 20 more level ups, then I can DNA Digivolve with Matadormon to make Beelzemon)
Cyberdramon (needs 5 more level ups and 2000~ Machine EXP)
