So which one do you use? The downloadable version on your laptop/PC or the web browser? What's stopping you from using the other?
I use the browser version solely because my sister is always logged onto the download version. I wish the browser version let you play games, because then I'd be playing "art is hard" all the time haha.
I use the download version on my laptop and phone, and the browser one on the downstairs desktop. Can't download it down there because everyone uses that computer.
I used the browser one at first when Discord was in its early stages. Then I transitioned to the download on my laptop and the app on my mobile phone and have stuck with it since. Makes it easier to multitask imo.
I corrently use the download version on my iPad. I don't have a PC, so I can't really get it on PC at the moment.
I use the download version for my laptop as well as the app on my phone. It's too much work to access the browser every time when I can just press the shortcut icon.
I use the browser version just because I don't feel like downloading anything >> I'm always logged on anyway, so it's not that inconvenient or anything
I don't go on Discord often enough to warrant downloading it on my computer. It works fine for me anyways because I always have my browser open.
The downloadable version all the way for me, much easier to seperate chats from other stuff that way xD
I usually use the download version since it's a bit faster, but I'll use the browser if I'm at a public computer, like at a library. I like having both options available.
Both of the versions are effectively exactly the same, the only significant differences being that you can set statuses or being informed about what you might be streaming or listening to. So, since I don't care for or use any of those things, I use the browser version, because there's no point in wasting hard drive space that doesn't need to be wasted. I thought there would be some unique edge or advantage to the downloadable program version over the browser one. There wasn't, so I uninstalled it immediately.
I use the download version. The downloaded version is more catered to those who play more team-oriented games and streamers. You can do things like show people what game you're playing and allow people to watch directly. There's also Discord Overlay which is a feature that shows you who is in your voice channel with you and who's talking all while you're in whatever game you're playing in fullscreen without having discord on your screen at the same time. I find it very convenient since I'm always playing games with friends that require a lot of communication among the team in order to win.
I use browser version on my pc and application on mobile. Though, when my exams started, I unistalled everything from my phone so I'm using browser version nowadays. Both are nice, it just really depends. My internet is just too slow to download app on pc
I use the browser version on my laptop (since Chrome doesn't like downloading things), but otherwise I use the downloaded version on my phone and desktop. The desktop version looks nicer to me and I can set literally anything to "Ensemble Stars!" to truly experience idol hell.
I use discord from Chrome like 100% of the time now. I just don't like running too many apps unnecessarily.
