So, after listening to a lot of Disney music, I've realized something; sometimes there are some weird extras. I mainly noticed that there are extras with annoying or weird voices, mostly from the older movies. A few examples are the townspeople in Beauty and the Beast's "Belle" and the one weird lady in Aladdin's "One Jump Ahead".

Have you guys noticed anything weird about extras, whether it be their voices, appearance, or something else?

I think in general background characters are odd, have weird designs or voices. Either that or they are copy and pasted a lot. I think the best use of odd background characters, though not a disney production, was in the Amazing World of Gumball, they had an entire episode around background characters so people would see them as more recognizable people. I would check out the episode on Dailymotion, they have most gumball episodes, I would really watch the background as the characters are always interesting.

I don't really notice the extras, which I suppose is the point - they're just in the background to provide a sense of realism and immersion; of a wider world outside of the noticeable characters singing their hearts out. Like NPCs in video games. Sometimes they can be even more interesting and memorable than the protagonists - in Wreck it Ralph I was far too busy spotting the references to really care about the protagonists! - buuut...it doesn't happen very often. Especially in earlier movies.

Still, it could be worse: at least Disney movies don't use the Wilhelm scream. At least, I can't remember an animated Disney movie ever having done so...live action ones might be another story entirely.
