Do you consider Video games a method to escape from your problems? Or are video games purely fun for you? Let us know!

Purely fun. Most of the time, I face my problems rather quickly and get them out of the way.

They're both for me; I primarily play them as a hobby/fun pastime, but sometimes I'll pick one up when I feel depressed and want to take my mind off of things for a little while. In the latter case, I'll usually play an old retro game like Mega Man, Super Mario All-Stars, Diddy Kong Racing, or Yoshi's Island for both the nostalgic feels and the challenges; it feels refreshing + encouraging to beat a semi-challenging game when I'm unhappy, and not to mention fun! They're also just nice for lazy days when there's nothing else to do.

I won't say that it is an escape from my problems all the time. Sometimes when I hear a discussion in my house between my parents, first I must take care of my brothers and sister making them play or something, maybe watch a movie; when I see that they are in a good place far away from the problems, there is when I take the time to escape from my problems and start playing. Or after a bad day at work too.

I play for fun of course, I really like playing like a normal...well..not like a normal I am really obsessed with video games XD, but as I said, if there are problems in my house I must take care of my brothers and sister :)

Seeing as only play video games when I have nothing else to do, I can safely say that I play them purely for fun xD

I usually just play video games for fun. :) Sure its nice to just play video games and not think about things outside of life, but having a good balance between introversion and extroversion is what I like to do. Regardless of what type of video game it is, I just like to have fun and enjy it while it lasts. Its kind of the same thing with life. Although I thin the whole YOLO ideology is a bit childish, its true. You only live once, so how you use your time and live your life is all up to you. As long as you're happy and not bothering anyone else's road to happiness, just do what you enjoy. I mean, we wouldn't call them Video games if they weren't games to play and have fun with.

Depends a lot for me, video games are a borderline hobby for me and I usually play them for fun but the past few years have been extremely rough on my mental health so I sometimes use them to forget unpleasant things even if is just for a moment. This often happens in the form of Pokémon battles, usually random battles on showdown or a Wi-Fi battle on the cartridge. Which ever my opponent wanna play.

    Yes they are.
Games have helped me through some bad times. I have also learned a lot from games.
Culture, language, politics, martial arts... the list goes on and on.
The memories and experiences are part of me.
Games... are one of the greatest forms of art.

They can be both; it depends on things. Most the time, I tend to play video games because I'm bored or because I really like playing them or what have you. However, when I'm feeling depressed/worthless I find playing them helps me calm down a lot and feel better. I guess they help drive my active imagination as well, which is always good. Of course, I know I can't rely on video games to completely solve my problems; that'd be kinda silly.

Oh yes. I consider video games as an escape even if it's just for a limited amount of time, you feel free of any obligations around you. Just you, your game and a bunch of angry Imperial troopers who are shooting at you because you keep mowing them down and you wont just die. :D

Both. I always have fun playing my games, but it also serves as a distraction from real life problems. I've always struggled to fit it or in general be happy in my real life surroundings, but it is extremely difficult. Games really take me to another world and eases my stress because games will always accept my stupidity.
