As the title suggests. I always keep mine, they are pretty strong most of the time and useful. It would feel wrong to do it.

For most of the games, I've kept my starter. BW2 is actually the first game where I've decided to ditch my starter. I did defeat all the gyms with my starter but as I'm doing the post game things, I decided not to use it :x

I usually ditch it at some point, when depends on how much I like it and what else is available. In White I kept it until the endgame, but in Black 2 I ditched Serperior after I beat Clay. I trained it up slightly and brought it to the battle with Marlon but he was incredibly easy and I never used it. It's been in the box since.

Ditching starters is a stupid idea, those Pokémon are usually more powerful than the others you find in the wild.

I didn't find that to be the case at all with the Serperior I have.

My starter usually doesn't stick until the end of the game. Maybe I have them like an underleveled team option, but it's not like it's part of my actual team. I guess I'm stupid :/

I ditched mine this time through. I usually keep it, but the offer of using my Huge Power Azumarill was too tempting. Plus, Samurott aint got shit on Azumarill. [:

Keep the first playthrough, ditch the second time i play the game. A fail once was that I released my piplup on platinum and then had to try to find a trainer with a prinplup to see all the Pokémon in the region. It sucked

I couldn't even consider ditching a starter! They're the first Pokémon we get and they become the most important Pokémon on the team, if not power wise then emotionally! And you can't get them in the wild! Starters FTW!

I always put mine in the box as soon as I catch my first team member
I find it so much more fun without a starter, it opens up an extra slot for a new, more unusual Pokémon than the over rated starters ^^

I always keep my starter, because they are usually the strongest Pokémon on my team.

Honestly I don't care about strength when making teams. If it's unusual and i've never used it it'll go in my team, if not, into the box it goes for all eternity

I can never ditch my starter, even if I wanted to. I dunno, it just seemed...wrong to ditch your first partner. Even if it has a sucky nature and can't hit very hard.

I always, always keep mine! It would feel really wrong to get rid of the poor thing! Even in White version when I wanted a Mijumaru but I hated it's evolutions I just worked harder to let it still be useful on my team while holding an everstone.

I would normally keep my starters unless I was taking a harder challenge of the game like a Nuzlocke or my Slacker challenge.
