Any Pokémon type specifically you guys enjoy using in the games? Is there a Pokémon from that type you tend to use often in playthroughs?

Whether it be accidentally or intentionally, I will always have at least a single water-type Pokémon in my party from the first gym onwards. With my favorite overall type being water, it makes sense, right? If it's not the starter, then it's Magikarp.

Flying types. On my Fire Red playthrough, I had three flying type Pokémon on my team. Pidgeot(for flying around), Articuno(for battling the dragon-type E4 trainer), and Zapdos (for battling the fighting-type E4 trainer).

I tend to aim for a Fire-Water-Grass core, but that's the only time I really aim for a specific type. Usually I'll just catch what I like.

Fire types! I always use a fire type starter (unless it's not possible, or in the Sinnoh region- then it's Piplup). In Y I ended up with 3-4 fire types- Delphox, Charizard, Talonflame, Aurous, Goodra, Absol.

Mine has always been Dragon-Type. I may not use any types consistently in playthroughs, other than related to what the gym types are in that game, but I do like Dragon-Types. It's been my favorite type, and as a result my least favorite type is Fairy. I feel like they should've had the exact opposite relationship because Dragon is only strong against itself, and already weak to Ice.

Didn't stop me from bringing Xerneas to the Kalos E4 and getting X, and I still like Togekiss okay.

Generally I go for the water starter. If not then the grass starter. Aside from that I don’t aim for a specific type.

Poison type has really grown on me over the past year. Between Mega Beedrill, Alolan Muk, Naganadel, and Scolipede, there are so many Poison types that are fun to battle with.

I would say Fighting types. I find them incredibly useful, especially considering all the normal types out there. Fighting is the only thing super effective against normal types, so I always have one on my team.

I love using fire types, steel types, and fighting types because find their moves fun to use. I have at least one Pokémon of these types on all of my playthroughs.

Serperior got me hooked on grass types (which is rather unfortunate because they’re one of the most disadvantaged types) and so now I almost always have one on my team. In Johto I had Meganium, in Sinnoh Roserade, in Unova Serperior, in SM Decidueye, and in USUM I had Whimsicott.

I almost always have the three starter types on my teams. Fire, water, and grass types just work well together.

Electric, I even made a electric team for that type tournament thing in BW2, it did pretty well despite not being perfect.

I think my favorite type to use is Poison, just because a good chunk of the Pokémon that I really like, and thus will probably use, are poison type.

I am a weirdo, I love normal types! Not all of them mind you but I love the ones that have wide and silly movepools. Kecleon, Linoone, Porygon, Exploud etc. I am always happy to have one on my team during my run throughs.

Next closest is bug types, they just look cool!

Steel type Pokémon because of poison immunity and the high amount of resistances to other types

Although I love Ice types, whenever I use one, I never am able to find a good use for it. All it ever does is sit in my party and do nothing because of all its weaknesses so I go for my second favorite. I love to use steel types. Their tanky, get good moves, and have the strength to back up those moves.
