Just like the title says, which one do you prefer or do you like playing both single and multi player games equally?

For me I often find myself falling in love with multi player games like Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn or Elder Scroll Online. Although there's many single player games I really like most of my favorite games are in fact either outright multi player games like the two mentioned earlier or better when played with others be it online or local, an example could be Monster Hunter. Which is kinda funny since I'm not always the most social one in MMO games and can be seen as a lone wolf solo player at times.

I honestly prefer those that can have both options, but it isn't bad when you play with a group once in a while.

Half of the time, as a group of friends, we never finish the game, and end up watching walkthroughs of the game on our own time. XD

I like to have multiplayer games. THe more people that are playing, the more fun the game is.

I prefer singleplayer games. I'm generally just very bad at multiplayer games in general, and most of the games I play I just want to play on my own anyway. Every time I seem to play a multiplayer game with my friends, it tends to not end well.

Yeah, gonna echo Gengar's Grin here, going single player is insanely easier than going multiplayer because in multiplayer you have to deal with everyone who's playing with you.

While I do enjoy playing multiplayer on ocassion (eg. Mario Party, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros.), I mainly prefer playing solo, even in MMOs

Both can be equally as fun! But I do find myself playing single player games more often. For the more multiplayer-oriented games that I own, like the aforementioned racers and fighters, though, they're definitely a little more fun to play with somebody else; especially Super Smash Bros. and Mario Party.

The main draw for me is that, not only do I much prefer the single-player experience for video games, but even for those games that are multi-player, I don't really know anyone nearby or around that would play them with me. In the case of Mario Party, I used to, but there wasn't very much interest for it, so sadly that died out. (I'd like to play a game of Mario Party with friends again someday, though.)

Thus for games in which the experience is primarily multi-player (like every MMO to ever exist), I wouldn't enjoy them very much at all, because there's little incentive to play the game alone, and usually when I play games, I do so to relax and unwind alone. Only when my goal is highly specific will I actually go look for people to play games with - and the only multi-player game I even have is Mario Party, so that doesn't really last.

It usually depends on the game for me. For instance okami is my favorite game of all time and Pokémon is one of my favorite series, and I honestly can't imagine liking either as much if others played with me. Pokémon has its multiplayer, but thats more or less minigame material rather than true multiplayer. And okami just has such a great story and gameplay that I feel couldn't be accomplished with more than one player. On that note I also love kirby and mario, both of which had their single player only in the past but today I don't think i would enjoy as much a lone, both multiplayer modes add so much chaos that you cant help but laugh and enjoy the game even if you get stuck on level 8-1 in the wii's new super mario bros for 5 hours....i hate that level. Regardless I actually never play mario or kirby alone now but require at least one other player to enjoy it to its full potential.

It's seldom I'd play games online, unless it was a title I really liked and was somewhat good at playing it. Unfortunately, my internet connect has grown decidedly shoddy over the years, so going online on home consoles is pretty much a hit and miss affair. 3DS seems to be fine, though.

I really prefer single player though, for better or worse. I get immersed in games more easily if I'm playing by myself offline.

depends for me. i like both, but im pretty competitive and typically prefer multiplayer games and mmos. however i like that i can customize single player games and really take my time once in awhile, turn my brain off for a few hours. so i can't really choose one or the other. it depends on my mood

    I prefer Single Player Games.
For some reason I really don't like Multiplayer games, I don't like playing with people even if they're on the same skill level as me. I have a different play style than most people so...

I'm a independentish person, I like Single Player games, I am in control, by myself.

I've only played multiplayer games on the PS2, and I can say that it can be fun playing together with other people. It depends on the type of people I'm playing with though. Personally, people who are too competitive or who are at different skill levels aren't that fun to play with; I'm not really a competitive person. In that light, I prefer single player games.

I prefer single player games since I don't have many friends to play them with. I don't care much for multiplayer anyway, it's really not my thing.

Rarely do I prefer multiplayer games, unless there's just something perfect about them that makes them A+ in my book. Mario Kart, Goldeneye/PerfectDark, Battle Block Theater. Something that's just good, like Mario Party or Kirby Air Ride I have to really really enjoy the company of the people I'm playing with, or forget that I'm going back to 1-Player Fallout.

As far as MMOs go, my opinion is a simple no. I tried playing FF14 when it first came out and another MMO whose name I forget a year or so before that, but neither experience did it for me. I wasn't surrounded by fools and trolls or anything, both communities were pretty nice and polite. It's just the format of massive multiplaying. It just doesn't work for me.

It's all mood based. Sometimes I like other people, other times I want to explore on my own. I might lean more towards multiplayer by a little, but not much.

I think I enjoy single player games only slightly more. If you look at my favorite games most are single player. I just like to really get immersed in the game without other players around.
