Well, lets say you've played a video game from start to finish, and over time it becomes a little old, and new video games are created and on their way towards you - would you still keep your old video games over time to play, or keep them as collectibles, or for whatever? If so, what kinds of video games do you like keeping? If not, why not?

You're more than welcome to share your thoughts as always. C:

I usually keep them. If it's a Pokémon game I'll always keep at least one of the versions, but a lot of games recently I've sold due to needing money for newer games. It's a tough choice to make with a classic game but worth it for the enjoyment of a totally new game.

Like Ben, I too would at least keep one verison from the older versions (especially for Pokémon). Once I've made my choice, I'd have to either give the other version to my siblings or sell it for money to buy the newer versions.

It often depends. If it's a game I'm OK to get rid of, then I usually do, but other than that I keep them, as I often replay games later on. Especially the Pokémon games! They're so good to replay!

I honestly don't really have a problem with just selling or giving away my old games if I know I'll never play them again. I tend to not have sentimental attachment to them, or anything like that, honestly. Though I do wish I still had my old Sega Genesis + Sonic the Hedgehog + Sonic Spinball, I have no idea what happened to those lol but they were the first games I ever played, and I miss them.

I almost always keep them, even though I rarely replay more than a few of them. I just never really have the urge to get rid of them, even ones I don't even play.

I am extremely sentimental with my games, and would never give them away. Although one time my parents got rid of my Gameboy without my consent, which made me extremely mad.

I keep everything! I'm a huge collector even if I don't plan on playing a game more than once. It's hard to let go as I get attached to my games instantly, box/manual and all. Selling games is totally unheard of for me and I've yet to do it (hard for me to really dislike a game anyway, too).

I keep them if I really like them or cannot simply sell them at GameStop anymore due to the system being outdated. I still have all my Pokémon GBC games, though I can't play them since the only working console that recognizes them is my half screen SP, and Idek where that is right now. The games I do sell are ones I disliked or ones I completed that have little to no replay value (such as the Pokémon Ranger games for me).

I always seem to keep my old games. I never sell them since I enjoy collecting my games. I feel at times I might want to go back and play it again. Although this leads me with a clutter of old games that I sometimes don't play anymore or I just keep as a collection. I've sold at least 2 games and that was it.

I almost ALWAYS keep my older games. I have so many XBox (yes, the first one) games and even some really old PC games. I know I'll regret it if I get rid of them and I don't have a reason to get rid of them. The exceptions are games that just suck xD

I keep all my old games because of all the memories I shared with it, which is why I usually don't restart games.
I have such a strong attachment to the memories themselves, usually after I 100% a game, I never touch it again, only keep it in a drawer, never to be seen again.

Luckily for me, I always played my Pokémon games on emulators, so I could completely avoid the overwriting data issue. However, I'm absolutely not resetting my X game, there are too many Pokémon I care about there. And to be honest, even without all the Pokémon, I still don't know if I would reset it, memories are also a thing... At least I bought OR and AS this time, so I can reset one of them as many times as I want!

I always make sure to keep my old games. I never know when I might feel like revisiting childhood memories.

I keep most of my old titles, usually because by the time I actually want to sell them, they're most likely obselete by that time, anyway! :P
