I'm curious, Lake Valorians. How closely do you watch what you eat? Do you look out for the ingredients, hold back on fast food, try to incorporate fruits/veggies in your diet etc. etc., or could you not care less?

Personally I don't care that much, though I do avoid too much fast food, partially hydrogenated stuff, and Trans Fats. I can be a bit of a tight ass with what I eat, but I know many people are a LOT more careful than me.

    So how about you?

Not at all actually. I'm extremely skinny and no matter what I eat I always stay this way. I don't even play any sports and I'm not that active. I know in the future I will have to change my eating habits though. I won't stay skinny forever if I don't.

Never. I've never once done this. Like RedScizor, I'm really skinny, and I'm 15 so I'm growing a lot. I don't need to watch anything at this point. Food is great, I love food. I'd never force myself to have meals with lower calories and stuff unless I was extremely unhealthy.

Yes, and no. I watch out, and don't eat fast food, but that's about it. My natural food choices are healthy most of the time, so I don't really need to.

The only thing I watch for is if it's expired and will make me sick. Besides that I eat whatever tastes good and that I can afford. I don't have a lot of money right now and so being picky about what I eat really isn't an option.

It seems for me, being healthy is a much more expensive option. When I'm low on money I end up just picking up a burger or something because anything healthier would cost a lot more. :(

Yeah that's how it is, lower quality and therefore more unhealthy food is always much cheaper. That's why it's the lower to middle class people you often see being obese, as opposed to the rich.

Most fruits are super expensive over here so I have to rely on other healthy things.

I want to say I try to eat healthy but I don't D: I eat icecream like almost every night and I eat fast food things almost once a week. I don't really watch it but I know I should. Thing is, I get full pretty easily and so I find myself just eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. I cook home made dinners so that might be a little healthy. If like I notice I'm starting to gain weight then I'd probably start eating better but since I don't notice any changes, I'm not going to bother xD

I really don't. It's not that big of a deal for me. As long as I'm still physically capable of doing things, which I am, I'm fine. I'm not going to force myself to keep away from the food I like unless I have to, like Ben said. Ben also said he loves food. I, too, am an enjoyer of food.

I sort of watch what I eat. I only eat fast food from one particular place that only exists where I live and I actively avoid all other fast food places. That's about it. I'm a very picky eater and I don't like the taste of almost all vegetables and most fruits. Also not a fan of meat. :P

I should be a lot more watchful of what I eat since I was born with health issues which I still have. :|

Something I've noticed is that most people won't care about eating healthy unless they're gaining weight. ;c

Something else I've noticed is that in the old days, being big was a sign of wealth because it meant you could afford a lot of food. Now being big is more of a sign of being poor, because all they can afford is fast food usually. Interesting how times change...

Lately all I've been eating is fast food and noodles x____x

I try to eat reasonably healthy--I've figured out how to still enjoy what I love and not have a clue its healthy. This means I can have a "cheat" day once a week.

But I don't go out of my way to buy organic and exotic food--what I'm doing (combined with an intense workout 3 days a week) appears to be working well.

I don't really look out for what I eat. :( I eat cause it tastes good and I can afford it. I know I should, since I'm starting to feel the effects, even if I'm not fat. :(

I hate harming my body, so of course I watch what I eat.
Let me be clear in saying this though - That doesn't mean I avoid fat and carbs. We need those to function, you just can't overdo it. Women, for example, have to have a certain percentage of body fat or they can't get pregnant or have a child.
There is also a myth I love to prove wrong - Whole Grains aren't good for weight loss. In fact, they are cow food for a reason. You eat it to look like a cow. It increases the insulin your body produces, which makes you convert more food directly into fat. Grains are the only group I ever try to avoid because of that. I'm an athlete so I have to know these things...

Aside from that, I watch the size/weight of what I eat. For example, breakfast should be a small meal, especially if you wake up late. Breakfast is meant to get you awake and keep you going, not get you full like you just had a nice dinner. A protein bar or some crackers are my usual breakfast, and lunch is where I normally eat the most. Your stomach is the size of your fist, so I never eat full servings are big restaurants. It also takes about 20 minutes for your body to realize it's full, so I always take my time eating. It's just these little things that keep me fit, not eating fruit and salad and other things that allegedly make you healthier.
