    Double trouble team battle competition

Welcome to the Summer Scramble competitive Pokémon battling event. This event will not only test your competitive skills but also your teamwork skills, as you will be competing in double battles!

    How do the battles work?

These battles will be done through Pokémon showdown, as that allows you to save your replays to provide proof of who won. You will be using the Doubles OU format.

How do we make the teams?

Now this is where it gets interesting. You will work together with someone from your team (Valor, Acuity or Verity). You can communicate by PM or discord or however you prefer, just make sure the other teams can’t spy on it. Each one of you will name three Pokémon they want to use and together you have to figure out how to make a good team out of those. Now sadly showdown only allows one of you to battle with the team you made so you have to decide who does that. Of course you communicate with each other during the battle, but again make sure your opponent can’t see you strategize.

For each battle you will have to work together with a different person. You can’t work with the same team mate twice.

    Who can we challenge?

Anyone who isn’t on your team. As long as both sides make sure to have two people from the same team working together, you can challenge anyone. If you win the battle your team gets 1 point and the team with the most points at the end of the month wins.

If you want to participate post below and include a spoiler tag with your replays. Both team mates have to upload the replay and mention who their team mate was. Sign ups end on July 9th. After which the battles will start.

So the three mons you chose can be different in different member combinations? @karatekid770 I think it be more interesting if you still had to use the same set of three mons but its up to you bruh

That's not a bad idea but that could also lead to some problems.

As in people throwing out all the creativity and only picking the absolute strongest. Meaning that you might end up with multiple of the same Pokémon on your team. Or fighting the same Pokémon a lot and not being able to counter it because you can't change your tactic.

Now I'm aware some of that might still happen, but I just wanted to leave it more free to you guys, so it stays more fun to work together to find an interesting team rather than being locked in.

There should probably be some specific regulations on what Pokémon can be used, maybe banning some of the stronger ones along with some specific gimmicky tactics. I think that would make it more fair all around and if regulated in the right ways, could make it possible to have set teams for the entirety of the tournament. For a team, there could maybe be more rules about not having more than one of a specific Pokémon, or maybe all Pokémon have to be different types. Something like that. Or maybe since we're all battling for the sake of Team Valor/Acuity/Verity, it could apply across the entire team instead of just the double battle teams. That way whenever someone gets matched against different people from the same team, they wouldn't have to battle a Talonflame or Mega Kangaskhan every time or something like that. That way the battles would still be changing each time even if the compositions stay the same. It would probably encourage more coordination across the team as a whole too when deciding who would use what Pokémon.

And of course match ups should probably be decided based on a random number generator or something like that, but I'm sure all of that's probably figured out already. But yeah, I like the idea of a static team and just thought I'd throw my two cents in. Other things like hold items and move compositions could still change to keep rival teams on their toes.
