Pastries. Pastries! From doughnuts to muffins, waffles to pancakes, there is a whole variety of pastries out there. Whilst they all share similar origins, they can all differ in taste, texture and shape. The question here is what's your favourite? How much would you frequent the odd pastry? Or are you totally opposed to them, even go as far to say you despise them? Have you ever made them yourself, or is that just not your thing? If you do, do you have any special additions you make?

For me I absolutely adore waffles, they're absolutely amazing in the morning. I'm also partial to the odd syrupy-pancake stack, and often enjoy a good doughnut (by often, usually once or twice a week haha, I can't resist!)

    Evil beware, we have waffles.

I enjoy an old fashion donut or an apple fritter every now and then, but I alsoutely love a chocolate croissant from either Panera Bread or Starbucks.
Regular croissants are also good, so are cross buns.

I love doughnuts. I love the texture and the flavor. I am howeve a bread maker, and apparently I'm good at it. At least that's what people tell me

I have celiac disease. All above pastries are a poison unto my body. Every gluten-free replacement pastry tastes a lot worse and kind of isn't really a special treat. Now that I've dampened the topic completely...

Fortunately I have been able to cheat and sneak in "the real deal" a few times without really any consequences. If I'm gonna cheat, its gonna be a donut. Just a fluffy glazed donut.

@[member="Doomhound"] I have a gluten free peanut butter cookie recipe if you want it. It tastes really good and my gram, who also has celiac disease, loves it.

    Oooh, which recipe? :)
There are a lot of recipes out there so it's hard to know which is the best. I make cinnamon rolls myself sometimes but they never seem to rise properly. I don't know if my yeast is bad or if I'm doing something wrong. =/

You're probably killing the yeast. My sister uses a pizza dough recipe (or asks my brother to pick some up from his work) and that works much better than anything my dad tried.

I love cinnamon rolls! especially with lots of frosting <3 I can't bake at all but they're my faves. If Crepes count I like those too, especially with chocolate and whipping cream~

I do have my own peanut butter oatmeal cookie recipe I adapted to just peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, and I must say they are pretty darn good. Thanks for the offer though!

    Thanks! :3
I'll probably try it, bring it over to my friends in culinary class for lunch and then get back to you on the results~

I love love love doughnuts and waffles and pancakes. Especially heaped with lots of chocolate and (in the case of the latter two) maple syrup. Drizzle half a bottle of syrup on my stack of pancakes or waffles and breakfast is served.

Doughnuts are the way I survived lunches in the store I worked in, haha. A half-dozen box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts was able to fill me for two days and cost less than a lot of other healthier choices.
