Which kind of Pokémon do you prefer? Those with dual types, or mono type? I'm a sucker for Dual types. I don't know why but good coverage is something I look for on my team every time over.

I usually like dual types because while people assess their Pokémon's moves by how many types they can cover, it's a dual type that walls them.

Honestly I like either one. I don't choose a Pokémon on the strength of its number of types but rather everything else it has to offer. That said though, mono types need other defensive elements to help them stay in battle, like Gigalith with sturdy.

I usually prefer Dual types, because in most cases, it's beneficial for the Pokémon. 2 Types for STAB, and hopefully more resistances. On the other side, water on itself only has 2 weaknessess either, so that's good as well...

I tend to prefer dual types. I think it's always interesting to see a new type combo come out with a Pokémon. And I'm the type of person who likes to try and get as many different types on my team as possible.

I love using dual typed Pokémon for a more variety of moves and combos with other Pokémon. All thought that dual types have their disadvantages their still good to use.

I like dual types, because I like to see how many types I can get onto one team and still get good Pokémon. I can get twelve, a lot actually. This has to be my favorite one. Once I got -

    Fire/Fighting - Blaziken
    Grass/Dark - Shiftry
    Water/Psychic - Starmie
    Rock/Steel - Aggron
    Poison/Flying - Crobat
    Ground/Dragon - Flygon

    And it worked well.

I don't really like dual types because they have more weaknesses and confuse the heck out of me (I'm not a competitive player at all and I still haven't gotten the hang of the ginormous type chart...) Plus a lot of Pokémon can still learn moves that are of another type so I don't really see the point in the dual types other than the STAB moves :s

But since I'm not a competitive player I just choose whatever Pokémon I want anyways pretty much regardless of dual or mono type :P

I do think that the dual types must make sense, which isn't always the case.
For example, the overused Grass/Poison combination doesn't always makes sense, look at Bellsprout, no real Poison there. I'd rather see Victreebel get the additional Dark typing instead!
Or the other overused typing, Water/Ice. I don't see the Ice part in Lapras, Dewgong, Spheal, and so on...

I usually prefer dual types for coverage, but I enjoy mono too. Dual is nice though because I can start to understand a type that I didn't really like more if its combined with another. Like how I really hated rock rock types until I got Amura in X. Dual types also confuse my friends because they don't know what attacks will work on some, like how my friend forgot that Swampert is a ground type and he used electric attacks

Lapras's shell is the ice part. Y'know, the part that people ride on?

I don't see it in Dewgong or Spheal though. *shrug*

Anyway, Dual is better tbh because it can remove weaknesses because one type is weak tonanother but the other is resistant (Infernape removes the Rock weakness it would have as mono Fire and the Fairy weakness it would have as mono Fighting) and also gives a more spread-out movepool.

Seriously? How on earth can that be comfortable to ride on? I mean, have you ever tried sitting on ice? It melts! ... ... Stupid Pokélogic...

I prefer dual types because they're fun to use and have more type coverage. For example, a team with Sceptile, Feraligatr, Magmortar, Alakazam, Umbreon, and Sawk has less coverage while a team with Barbaracle, Chesnaught, Houndoom, Magnezone, Dragalge, and Gardevoir (which are all dual types) has a lot of resistances and can deal with almost every type of Pokémon because of their dual typing.
