    Need I say more about this masterpiece?

    The game will be getting its first re-release in North America (and not to mention its first-time-ever release in Europe) later this year on the Wii U Virtual Console.

    Why do I love this game so much? It was ahead of its time, for one thing (no random encounters, all party members followed you, etc; keep in mind these were not the norm until the frigging late-PS2 era!), also has one of the best soundtracks ever made where a blind ear would not think it was coming from a SNES at times, and a meaningful story full of likable characters (something that games noawadays are starved for).

    Anyone else played this game before, even illegally via emulator (like I did/still do since finding a copy is ridiculously rare >>) ?

    What they're putting it in the shop? That's awesome! I have been waiting for eons for this to happen! >w<
    I've only played a Rom of Earthbound: Zero (sadly I would love to own the actual copy of the game) I had so much fun with it. The music was so cool and catchy! I've only heard the OST of the Earthbound: one and it is a real nice track to listen to. I haven't played the one with Lucas as the main character.

    Which one are they putting on there? Like.. is it Zero or the other ones? :0

    The one that got officially released, or the game known as Mother 2 in Japan. I'd love to see EB Zero get an official release too, same for Mother 3 (since Wii U VC will be supporting GBA games as well).

    I can never remember which one was officially released. I sadly didn't know of Earthbound until Ness appeared in Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 64.
    But either way, that's pretty awesome. I may have to buy the wii u just to get this game haha! (Probably other games too when more are released)
    It'd be nice to see them be able to revive the series, it would make all the Earthbound fans ecstatic.

    That's how a lot of people got introduced to Earthbound anyway (myself included; thought he was an original character for a while. XD) But There's a huge cult following for the game (Starmen.net should pretty much best describe it), and I know for a fact that this game will sell a LOT better than it did back in 1995.

    I am sure it will! Especially since they introduced the characters through Smash Brothers. There's a lot of fans that came just from there. Once I get a Wii-U I will definitely make sure I purchase this game to support it. Too bad it's only on the Wii U though xD I'd buy it for the 3DS in a heart beat.

    Everyone has said that, though to be honest, I seem to hardly play portable systems. x-x The last game I played was Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, but briefly. x-x

    I got a chance to play this over the summer after seeing a Let's Play of it years ago. It was so much fun, even though I remembered most of the major stuff. I still felt like I was exploring a new world since I couldn't remember exactly where to go most of the time. The humor was great, but it also had its darker moments. If only we could get Mother 1, Mother 3, and Mother 64. That would be great.
