By Easter Eggs, I mean those small, cool little things that you find in video games, which are either weird and serve no purpose in the video game other than it.. being there, or it's just something to work towards for fun!

What are some of the best Easter eggs, in your opinion, that you've found, and what games were they from?

If you knock a bees nest off a house with a hawk instead of the slingshot in Legend of Zelda: Twilight princess, the guy who owns the house says you are clever and thanks you. With slingshot he just thanks you. Not much of one, but it's one i found on my own, and i think its neat.

One of my personal favorites are the Mario pictures in the right-hand window in the courtyard of Hyrule Castle in Ocarina of Time. Back then, it was just like "Whaaat?! You can't do that!"

I love how in Ocarina of Time when you look inside Zelda's castle, you can see paintings of Bowser, Mario, Yoshi, and Peach :).

Chris Houlihan's Room in Legend Of Zelda: Link to the Past.
I think it was really cool to see his room because it's such a huge honor for him to get a cameo in the game!

Well, there's an Easter Egg almost everyone knows about.
It's in Shiverburn Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy 2). If you look to the left on top of the cliff, you'll see two ghost-like things. They're called "Sky Trees" and they just stay there through the entire misison.
I thoguht it was really really really really I don't have a word for it.

The subtle nod to 'The Cake' in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game which you can find if you use a portal(heh) in the sentinel factory a certain way. There's also a WoW and a Lost easter egg too, if I'm not mistaken. Using Sly's cane in Infamous 2 is always a favourite of mine. So are the LoTR and 'Time Travel' refs in ORAS! And then the '2002 was a good year in the city' skill point in Up Your Arsenal. Aaaah, I could go on and on!

Hadouken in Megaman X, quite possibly one of the greatest Easter Eggs of all time.

I only know of two true Easter eggs that I've really recognized in the course of playing video games, but I've found them both amusing, to a degree.

~Final Fantasy I: There is a tombstone in the elf village that, when read, instead of giving a generic message, says "Here lies Link". This is only present in the remakes (GBA and up), but it's still a humorous little aside.

~Runescape: I know there are probably a ton of these in this game, but the one I notice (and remember) is, when you attempt to Use a Herring on any tree that can be cut down, instead of giving you the generic 'it won't work' message, the game will tell you "That is not the mightiest tree in the forest!"

To this day, I haven't found the Master Sword in Final Fantasy I, nor found the mightiest tree in all of Gielinor. I bet someone has, though.
