This is a weirder topic I'd like to discuss When I write I try to follow breeding mechanics as closely as possible to the games, meaning that if I were to write a Luxray doing the do with a Ninetales and the Egg is laid on top of a snowy mountain, the offspring is 100% guaranteed to be an Alolan Vulpix because game mechanics That and I also keep Egg Group limitations intact like incompatible groups and baby Pokémon But how bout you guys Maybe yall would prefer it if a Riolu and Snivy were actually able to have some offspring of their own without evolving Maybe yall would prefer it if a certain cat and a certain whale weren't able to have some offspring on their own What are your personal headcanons on handling Egg Groups?
I headcanon all bird Pokémon to be in the same egg group, whether or not they’re flying-types. Same goes with other Pokémon. Mammal-based Pokémon are in the same group as other mammals etcetera. Object-based one’s can’t reproduce for obvious reasons.
I honestly just follow the official stuff because is just easier, the only difference being that if is 2 different species are breeding the offspring can be either species instead of only the female's because why not.
Yeah, same to be honest. Feels a bit more natural for it to do that, because why else seek out a Pokémon from a different species to have babies with if it doesn’t increase your own population.
