Nah, it's not bad. I love using the mon, in fact. I dunno if it fits with the team but I'll look into it and see what we can do.
Oh boy, no discussion on this for a while. I'm bringing up Serperior since a lot of it's would-be counters either aren't allowed (latis, Heatran) or have already been used (Charizard, Volcarona, Amoonguss, etc.). This seems like a very good opportunity for Serperior to win. However there are still some threats. Mega Venusaur, Salamence, and Forretress are still able to be used in this competition, and can beat Serp (depending on the coverage we put on it at least). So we definitely need something for them. Offensively we could go with something like Banded Weavile.
Serperior... What can we use it for, though? As for Banded Weavile, we may be able to make something out of that. Both are weak to Steel, so we could have something to counter that. A Fire type could take care of everything above, and also helps against Serp’s Bug weakness. Unless I’m just being an idiot and we already have a Fire type in the team. I’m thinking something that’s fast and hits hard? We could put a move like U-Turn on it or something, just to disrupt the opponent and then force them to switch out.
Serperior can potentially win with it's contrary leaf storms making it stronger and stronger. It's better counters barring Mega Venusaur are gone, giving us a much better chance. Only decently fast fire type with U-Turn is Infernape, which could work, though a bit more discussion on this would be nice. I don't think we necessarily need to put a scarf on anything considering we have Serp and Weavile, although being able to U-Turn on out to Banded Weavile for instance would be nice. It'd probably be better to do a sort of slower U-Turn, too, so that in case we can still switch mons in after u-turning out. Could use bulky Gliscor for this. A slower U-turn, can earthquake Steel-types, can set up rocks for us... It can work out nicely. Anyone else agree? A water type would round things out pretty nicely too. Any ideas on what could work well here?
If you’re looking for a bulky Gliscor, how’s this as a move set? Earthquake U-Turn Stealth Rock And how about Sky Attack? It has 90 Accuracy, STAB, and 140 power, even though it only has 5 PP.
Well, my idea was that we're not really gonna be using Gliscor as any sort of attacker. Just as a sort of bulky pivot, so I don't think Sky Attack would work. It gets roost, though, so that'd keep us healthy. We could do the same thing with our Water-type, too, if we wanted. I don't remember if Rotom-Wash has been used yet, but we could have that as a Defogger, and can also pivot out with Volt Switch.
Roost sounds good! I think it’ll be our best choice. Rotom-Wash as another pivoter? Sounds good. Should we go for any offensive moves or all defensive?
All right guys, I just checked with Wolf, and he told me that he'd still count that as the same Pokémon as Rotom-Heat, so we can't use Rotom-Wash.
Oh, well, I was actually gonna use both Gliscor and Rotom-W if they allowed it but clearly that's out of the window. It just sucks because there are no other water-type options that quite do what Rotom would for our team. Man. Maybe we could use Empoleon instead, then have a different U-turn/volt switching mon... either Infernape or Darmanitan to complete our Fire/Water/Grass core would work. @Gwoomy For sure we're using Serperior, Weavile, and Gliscor.
If we’re using Infernape, is it just a simple switcher? We also want to put U-Turn on it, right? And also have something boosting its defense and speed so it can swap around without getting assassinated?
Yeah, U-Turn on Infernape, alongside Close Combat, Flare Blitz, and Gunk Shot. Whether ya'll wanna go with Life Orb or Scarf, I'm not sure. Maybe Scarf since Zam hasn't been used yet? I dunno. On Empoleon, I was thinking of Scald, Defog, Flash Cannon, and Roar. SpDef. Item would be Leftovers On Gliscor, moveset is established to be Earthquake, U-Turn, Stealth Rock, and Roost. Mostly physdef? Item would be Toxic Orb On Weavile, moveset would be Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Knock Off, and Pursuit. Banded. On Serperior, I was thinking maybe Normalium Z, with Leaf Storm, Dragon Pulse, Hyper Beam (Which would be used to catch a weakened Mega Venusaur) and... maybe HP Fire? We could use Glare if we wanted to cripple something on the switch. I was thinking of using a fairy on the last move. You guys think we should have a bulkier fairy?
