Emma and Mimi, or Zinnia and Aster

I like Emma better, but the reveal of why Zinnia called the whismur her daughter and why it was named Aster... Dang.

Honestly, I thought Zinnia was a bit crazy. I liked Emma better, but I like the plot of the Delta Episode better than in the Looker Quests.

 

I liked Emma and Mimi better since they seemed to have that more innocent and closer bond together.

 

I have never played the postgame for X and Y. I really liked Zinnia and Aster in ORAS though.

 

Even though Emma has a special place in my heart since we share a first name, I definitely prefer Zinnia and Aster. Zinnia has a fantastic personality that makes her absolutely adorable and badass, and she has a really nice design, so how could I ever hate her? Emma and Mimi were cute, and I like how Emma developed, but I honestly prefer quirky characters, haha.

 

Zinnia for me. She's a little... eccentric? But I definitely thought she was a lot closer to Astral than Mimi was to Emma, and Zinnia was frankly a lot more interesting.

 

Emma and Mimi were much more fleshed-out so I definitely prefer those two. Her bond with her Espurr was really powerful and overall I felt like she was handled really well despite Zinnia also being a great character.. she was just a bit shafted with little screentime in the unfortunately short (but awesome) post-game episode.

So yes, Emma wins. :')

 

Emma and Mimi seem really cute, and I adore Espurr. So I'd probably go with those two

 

I prefer Emma and Mimi since they are very cute together and the fact she decides to help people in Kalos with her friends.

I kind of prefer Zinnia. It's her madness that gets me to like her, plus she has a Whismur! I love Whismur!

 

I like Zinnia more, but only because I think her trainer animation is hilarious. Seriously that's the best animation I've ever seen in a Pokémon game XD.

 

Tough choice, since I like them both. But if I had to choose, I'd say... Emma and Mimi.

I think Emma was more fleshed-out as a character than Zinnia because her motives are explained more clearly in the Looker sub-quest in XY. Looker took her in because she was alone and had no place to live, and she didn't want to be a burden to him so she looked for a job which she eventually got from that dude from Team Flare. Even though she was being mind-controlled through the suit (and she didn't even know it), she did it so that she could at least help Looker a little.

Zinnia was awesome, she knows she's really strong and doesn't give a shit about those who get in her way, but she did it all to save Hoenn as the Lorekeeper. Aster was cute, but she didn't really serve any purpose other than being Zinnia's companion. Sadly, tthey didn't get enough screen time so some of her history felt like it could have been executed in a much better way. They didn't really explain who the real Aster was (her daughter? She did call Whismur!Aster "my daughter", but that could be just how she usually calls her beloved Pokémon) and her connection with Aster was only mentioned in a short scene just before Rayquaza. Her story about being the last of the Draconid is pretty cool, though. I guess it explains why she did all of that stuff, because it's her duty and she had no other choice since her "Plan A" failed.

BUT,
Zinnia has super-awesome pre-battle animation thingy. It shows just how excited she is to battle you!

 

Hmm, I'd say Emma and Mimi. They just felt more connected, (delta episode spoilers)

we know Aster is someone Zinnia used to know, most likely her daughter or something similar, who she "lost"... so it feels to me like she treats the Whismur as if it's someone else. It doesn't feel like a direct love/connection to me.

I honestly don't remember the Looker Quests too well, but I remember Emma and Mimi having a very tight bond that I really admired.

 

For just about everything, I have to give Emma and Mimi the edge...
But I can't deny that Zinnia's themes (both encounter and battle) are pretty awesome.

 

Zinnia. She is creepy in a funny way.

 

I like both Emma and Zinnia but I would have to pick Zinnia since her design is so badass and sort of insane when you battle her. The Whismur is also cute~

 

Emma and Mimi. Their story was really touching and Emma is awesome overall. She's not too known in the Pokémon world, which is a shame. Sorta makes me wish they had forced the Looker Missions like they did with the Delta Episode.
